Best channel on UA-cam. Very inspirational. I contemplated for a long time starting my training, but I now have over 40 hours working towards finishing my Private! Thank you for your content!
My son-in-law is an airline captain. That’s what got me interested in aviation-related videos. Enjoyed your recent podcast with Paul. 😊 I am amazed at the knowledge and skill you all have to master. I’m taking a trip soon from MSP to PHX.
Welcome back Captain, no worries when you have to take a break sometimes: life happens. But it’s always terrific to fly with you; love the PIREP info. Hope you get to fly into Denver with our always fun mountain wave conditions, which are a blast to listen to on LiveATC. Happy flying.
Welcome back Big Ern!!! Missed u much!!! It would be nice when u perform the "Walk Around" u could explain what ur looking for. Thanks so much for sharing! 💙❤💛✈
I missed these videos Ern flying. Welcome Nick great flying with you on this video. I have watched many Ern’s videos, looks like great to be FO with him.
Love your channel! My family and I flew on SWA from MSP to MDW, MDW to MYR on 3/4/24, then MYR to BNA, BNA to MSP on 3/7/24. I was hoping to see you, but your esteemed colleagues were in the cockpit for the flights on which we flew. Maybe someday our paths will cross.
Ern, I watch several channels like yours. Yours and Paul's are by far the best. I enjoy your easy-going presentation. Would fly as your FO any day. Cheers.
Another great video BigErn! Loved the new Hamilton. I have a Hamiltonian automatic from the late 1970s and they’re fabulous watches! Loving flying with BigErn and great to hear you’re working on producing more! Safe flying!
Love the video big Ern. Love the podcast as well. As always, thank you for sharing. I love the fact you still love aviation after all these years. My Grandson and I love going to just watch planes. He’s hooked at 6 years old❤️
Great content from a ATP flight school student pilot! Also a fan of the new podcast!! Flying for southwest is a dream of mine, hope to fly with you one day.
@@FlyingwithBigErn of course! Also I would like to see Mike and Sean from @ProPilotPlaybook(smaller channel) or the great Juan from Blancolirio (larger channel). Might be hard to get either of those on though.
Love everything you do Big Ern, you’re an inspiration and an amazing ambassador for Southwest. Have you thought about your own line of Big Ern Merch as I can confidently say that a lot of us who watch you and get excited to see your videos, would buy some.
..as an early Big Ern sub..it's always a really good day..when our newly- promoted Capt.Ern.. posts yet one more.. new ..and always ..really-great video..
Great vid Ern, glad you’re well. Question, why doesn’t Boeing install HUDs on both seats? Seems like a FO who’s the pilot flying would benefit from a HUD as well.
Glad you guys enjoyed the Saltlick BBQ. It’s not bad for airport food. Of course, thereare dozens of better places in the city including the real Saltlick, but it’s awful hard to have a real bbq pit at the airport, even in Austin. There are actually four or five decent restaurants in the Austin airport. Expensive but hey, everything in an airport is expensive.
SAN landings are always fun (HUD or no-hud) due to the parking lot Nick, in my 40 yrs of airline flying it was one of the airports that I felt was an 'adventure' each time, even in the 757/767....Fireworks-fly into Chicago over Lake Michigan on the evening of the 4th of July.
Good Morning BigErn, Flying out of BNA to EWR this morning on a 737 Max 9. Unfortunately on United. SW only flies into LaGuardia for some issues. I always fly SW otherwise. Keep safe and love you and your content. Have a log book of 40 hours. Getting back into the left seat and working through the check rides. Love to make Professional. See you around!
Ern, I will hopefully start flight school late this year (if I get accepted). I just flew in and *actually* flew an aerobatic plane on Saturday through an event in my local EAA chapter. Told my pilot I had over 200hrs on flight sims, I have a flight sim setup at home, etc. and he just said "oh, well go ahead and fly VFR back to the airport". The thrill of actually flying a plane was unreal. It inspired me to ask pilots and students of the academy I'm looking at about their experience and they all loved it. One of the students said her friend is in Pensacola, FL, training for SWA. My question is: how do you like your job at SWA? I'm going to try to get into Destination 225° right out of high school. Just wondering which path to a pilot at SWA is the best. Thanks, SWA's biggest fan. P.S. my dad actually worked on a huge project at SEA, building that massive passenger bridge to the international terminal
I've got an interview at a regional airline in a couple of weeks. Excited (but a bit nervous admittedly!) for this next phase in my career. Maybe I will see you at Southwest in the next few years!
As a dispatcher, it is a lot of paperwork. But I get a real sense of satisfaction when I jumpseat and see crews pin the first page of that paperwork and especially the dispatch remarks somewhere important for reference.
Welcome back, Big Ern!! ...although I will have to confess that you haven't been all that gone in my feed recently with your EXCELLENT first podcast with Capt. Paul of @mylayoverlife and HIS video of you two zooming around the Southwestern skies (no plug intended, but run with it if you choose😁) in the Green Hornet!! Still, I'm looking forward to all the cool new content...
Hey Capn Big Ern - Since You have spoken SO Much about Pilot career path & joining SWA, I was surprised we did not get a better Background thumbnail for F.O. Nick - other than flying a corporate jet. It would have been very interesting to know his full aviation path to becoming a pilot & progressing to becoming an airline F.O.. Nick seems to be a good guy & is a living example of landing an airline job that might provide a solid example for others considering the same thing, that You have spoken about often in the past.🤔 Also is he based in PHX or had to start commuting as a new SWA pilot. P.S. Good to see a new episode.😎
I wonder if a Navy pilot could keep that quarter from bouncing off, seems you can tell who was a Navy Pilot or an Air Force one 🤣 Great job. Welcome back was wondering what happen.
FYI seems your camera has some issues with auto focus. When you were doing the walk around in PHX, the landscape you were showing was way out of focus or could be my eye going but I think it was the video.
Did you fly the Hawker 800 or 1000? My friend is now a FO at SouthWest, I tried to get him to go to DaJet but he wanted to fly BBJ’s or as you call them 737’s. Good to see you back. How is the Green Hornet? As you know me Dana the Tall
