Regards the Voyager, I rode my motorcycle to Mojave from Oregon in May of 1986. One of my stops was at Rutan's place there. I got to see Voyager under construction and bought a couple souvenirs. Thanks for the video!
Hello, I enjoyed watching your video from yesterday. You are doing your job greatly. I wish to ride with you on Missouri One Aircraft so I am living in STL. It made me proud. Question. Did you know about the history of TWA? In Remembrance, TWA completed its 75th Anniversary before merging with American Airlines in 2001 while TWA CEO, Mr. Campton and AA CEO finally signed on their Agreement of Merger. Because TWA has a severe bankruptcy. Later until December 1, 2001, TWA ended sadly. We always remembered the TWA Hub with STL Lambert International Airport. Thank you for sharing your excellent video.
Always a Great Day..When Capt. Ern Posts Another Great Video..and Please Keep ' Em Coming..Especially From Orange County..Where I Once Lived Out There.. on Balboa Island..and Rode The Very Short Balboa Island Ferry Ride...on that Short Historic Trip ...Over to the Beach..on My Favorite Bike.....
Hi Captain, I enjoy your videos. Thanks for taking us along on your 2-day. I am an LAX-based flight attendant for Southwest. This April 22nd, I will be celebrating my 30th anniversary with Southwest. I hope to fly with you someday soon. Have a good one.💛❤️💙 ✈️
Saw freedom one at OKC on the 1st of April, this month. Southwests ramp is right next to ours, had to walk over there and snag a photo of it. Saying it’s gorgeous is an understatement for sure.
Liking the new voice overs and the journey to work segment! Nice to see what you get up to outside of the flightdeck on your layovers. Great video as always Ern!
Thought about you Friday afternoon, was a block away from Dallas Loves Field in the flight approach path, tons and tons of Southwest jets right above my head. 😊
Another good flights & video Ern. I understand keeping your career, but wish we can see out your front windshield look at what you see. But we understand -Kenny
Back in late 1993, I was checked out in a Piper Dakota. Part of my training had me go from Carlsbad (CRQ) to VNY and then SNA and then back home. I did the absolute worst night time landing at SNA and bounced that plane down. So it taught me me a lot right before IFR training. Great place and I love how Ern loved seeing some GA.
I just seen that special plane at Long Beach Sunday morning way cool ! We flew back with your partners it was son and dad flying us back to Phoenix . His dad will be retiring in August he said cool story ! Still trying to get chance of you being our pilot hasn’t happened yet .. stay safe buddy we think your so cool
Please make more videos on the green hornet. I’m currently a ppl student in Arizona flying the SR20. I learn so much from you with all your flows and procedures. Keep it up. Hopefully you’ll be my PIC flight to/from PHX / SMF. THANK YOU.
Hi BigErn, love your Podcast and YT channel. We are going to FL in June flying Southwest from Milwaukee to Orlando. I have a 13 year old son who is looking at aviation as a career. Any tips if he might be able to get a cockpit tour and a few minutes with the pilots on our flights? It will be his first time flying on a big plane. Took a Young Eagles flight last fall and he loved it.
Not a pilot, but I love to fly SWA. I’m in Ohio CMH, my son lives in San Jose, so we make annual treks out to SJC. Thanks for sharing, explaining and teaching! Love to run into you some time.
Look forward to hopefully flying with you one day, BigErn! Had an interview scheduled with Southwest, but unfortunately it was cancelled when they stopped hiring for the rest of the year. Keep the videos coming so I can live vicariously through you 😂
I have an idea for you.. you should have someone fly with you as a passenger.. and get the flight recording from the back especially the Rockies that way we get a rear seat view and get to see that beautiful Rockies view you mentioned.. hope you like and implement my idea..! Love watching you and keep it up big Ern.. hope I run into you one day
Cool video Ern, it was a thrill to see you in LGB,I truly enjoy your content and I’ll see you in the friendly skies my brother. Yours Truly, MX TECH BIG DAVE!(HOU)👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks Ern really enjoyed the shut down of the aircraft interesting to see the fly deck go from all lit up and operational to dark and slient kinda like she, gone to sleep 😅😅😅 Kym Adelaide
Shame you never flew "Quiet EPR" take-offs on the B-727 Ern, when we first got trained on the procedure the whole class all said "Wait, you want us to do WHAT????". Old practices die hard.
Great Video Big Ern. I love seeing where your trips take you, especially now that you have that fourth stripe!!! ...and, on Behalf of The Entire Big Ern Family, I offer my apologies to the First Officer on Day 2 who was assigned to spend the day in a cramped cockpit with a Captain who decided to jog a mile to and through Sea-Tac airport to maintain his fitness goals 🤣🤣🤣 All in Love, Big Ern; Love your channel!!!
Great video! I noticed that the system screen only shows the hydraulic information. Does SWA not show the Flight control surface information or brake temperature information? You mentioned lasers tagging planes. That has happened to me as well. I was doing night pattern work at Glendale (KGEU) and we had some POS pointing it at us. My CFI and I were hacked. People simply don't get it. That kind of thing has the potential to cause a crash and kill people.
Non pilot fan here. How often do you fly with an FO you've never flown with? Curious how that impacts team dynamics? Also, yes! Pick up those Hawaii trips. Heading out to Kona April and again in May. Flying SW home because ya'll are the only ones who don't make me fly RedEye home to SLC.
Thank you for the great videos. Do you feel confident about the MAX? Even with all the news about it as far as build quality, workers doing shoddy jobs during the assembly. I would appreciate your opinion. Thank you!
great stuff ernie loved your training vid was great .have fklown 152 182 years back in arm chair with msfs 2020 airbus 320 sorry not boeing keep up good work from drew UK
I've heard of an incident where an onboard passenger pointed a laser out the window at another aircraft on a parallel takeoff with that other aircraft. .
If I wanted 2 hour sits, I’d fly for Delta, be on a wide body by now, hence spending half my flying career asleep in the bunk. 😂😂😂. It didn’t used to be that way in the land of LUV. Hope it gets fixed. I will say this, with the new contract, it’s going to cost them dearly, and it smells like a system that can be played and used to our advantage. Retirement and being Mr. Mom is pretty great though. Not worth losing my wife for, but heaven needed her, and my kids need me. Keep on keeping on. I swear, Southwest is going to modify the 7-3 and fly it to the moon someday, without it requiring a new type rating.
I always see planes making the 180 turn to make their final approach there. I can't stand those people shining lasers at aircraft. Glad that everyone is safe. I've flown out of John Wayne Airport a few times but mostly there dropping off and picking up people with Uber.
Bc pilots at southwest get paid by the leg. Other airlines get paid by flight hours but southwest pilots get paid by the legs. So the faster they finish a leg the more time they have for other legs and more $$$$
I'm flying Southwest as passenger from LGA-TPA April 17th would love for you to fly me there you should come to east Coast would be cool regards from rainy 38 degree weather in NYC
One of our pilots got hit by a laser going into SNA about 20 years ago. Burned his cornea and he was off work for quite awhile. Why people think this is fun, funny, or a joke is beyond me, Ern
Glad to see you back behind the wheel. 😊
Always a Good Day..To Fly Along With Capt. Ern...Especially From Orange County..Where I Used to Live..and Please.. Keep 'Em Coming.. Capt..Ern..
Nice to see BigErn flying again, enjoying the blue skies.
Why again?
I’m so excited to see another southwest captain videoing his job. Keep it up Sir! We all greatly appreciate that LUV towards aviation❤

Yesss a big ern upload!! I hope to see you on a flight someday, or even better, in the flight deck with you. Happy flying!!!
Liking the new voice overs and the journey to work segment! Nice to see what you get up to outside of the flightdeck on your layovers. Great video as always Ern!
Thanks Ern, great to see another post. I remember your hotel back in the day was a Red Lion.
Great video Ern! Love the lady at the end saying "Are you vlogging?!" 😂
Thank you Captain for sharing your trip!! Nice!!😊😊
I miss flying into "OC" John Wayne Airport. I miss seeing the General Aviation aircraft as well.😊
Thought about you Friday afternoon, was a block away from Dallas Loves Field in the flight approach path, tons and tons of Southwest jets right above my head. 😊
Another good flights & video Ern. I understand keeping your career, but wish we can see out your front windshield look at

23:23… The panicked gate agent at the very end… “Are you walking?!?” hahaha
Maybe "Are you vlogging?"
@@CTde110 ah.. you might be right.. either way it’s funny
You’re a very good pilot Captain!!!
Hello Captain Ernie!!! Can’t wait for you to come to Columbus KCMH!!!

These videos are the best keep up the good work
Do you still get excited every time you get to fly? Your videos have really inspired me to follow my dream and become a pilot.

His dad will be retiring in August he said cool story ! Still trying to get chance of you being our pilot hasn’t happened yet .. stay safe buddy we think your so cool
I hope to run into you someday rampside! always love working missouri one when she shows up here in STL.

Always great to hear from you, Capt.
Always love seeing SoCal airports. Great video Captain.
Herb retro livery is the best in the fleet and I can’t be convinced otherwise.
God bless you, strength you and protect you ❤
Good job Big Ern!!!!👍
Hey I was on that plane from St. Louis to Philly on Wednesday!
Always good to see you do your thang!!!
Hi BigErn, love your Podcast and YT channel. We are going to FL in June flying Southwest from Milwaukee to Orlando. I have a 13 year old son who is looking at aviation as a career. Freedom One is one of my all time favorite liveries.
Glad you are doing well and you are 🔙 o how's is nick doing 😅 did you get a new captain fly with you and have good week's 😅
Look forward to hopefully flying with you one day, BigErn! Had an interview scheduled with Southwest, but unfortunately it was cancelled when they stopped hiring for the rest of the year. Keep the videos coming so I can live vicariously through you 😂
Great video Ern, thanks for sharing!!!✈😊
Paul posted a video where he was in Seattle sometime recently as well.
Thanks for the new vlog Big Ern! Always enjoy your videos.
What a cool livery Ern! Thanks for sharing and cheers from CYYB.
At 18:48 you stop talking, look around toward the back of the cockpit, and say "Look at that". What did you see?
I have an idea for you.. you should have someone fly with you as a passenger.. and get the flight recording from the back especially the Rockies that way we get a rear seat view and get to see that beautiful Rockies view you mentioned.. hope you like and implement my idea..! Love watching you and keep it up big Ern.. hope I run into you one day
3:00 You just answered my question: "Do you know the way to San Jose?" 😁
Hope to fly with your airlines soon, I mostly take spirit airlines from Vegas to lax or Vegas to Orange county
I am from MO. Did not know this existed.
I actually like the 737-700,second best to the max. Enjoyed!!
Does Southwest not allow hands free window mounts for camera or recording in flight?
I love these videos so much. I’m 32 and really hope I can become a pilot one day 🙏🏽
I flew on it home from San Antonio to Sacramento via Las Vegas 💛❤️🧡💙❤️🧡💛❤️💙
Cool video, Iove the "E" ticket takeoffs at Orange County!
Thanks for sharing! I Like the details and mentioning the full power takeoff. How often do you use full power during takeoff.
Honestly not very often. Usually on short runways when we're heavy. Great question!
Cool video Ern, it was a thrill to see you in LGB,I truly enjoy your content and I’ll see you in the friendly skies my brother.
Yours Truly, MX TECH BIG DAVE!(HOU)👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Illinois 1 is my favorite livery. Followed by Louisiana 1 and Freedom 1.
Ernie Meeks eu gosto muito dos seus vídeos continue assim seu trabalho é muito bom, tenha um bom descanso fica com Deus 🙏🏻🥰

People simply don't get it. That kind of thing has the potential to cause a crash and kill people.
Dangerous question. What do you think of all the Boeing problems?
I know several United 1st officers. I'd love to fly with them!

How different are the flying characteristics between a -700 and -800/Max8? Do the controls actually have a different feel to them?
Love your videos BigErn keep it up
I’m retired now, but I miss the days in and out of airports. But, 40 years with no mishaps was good enough
Fantastic...like always!!!
great stuff ernie loved your training vid was great .have fklown 152 182 years back in arm chair with msfs 2020 airbus 320 sorry not boeing keep up good work from drew UK
Ern, are you looking forward to the introduction of Redeye flights to WN, or will you actively avoid them?
Ang galing mo Mr. Ern your awesome!
Love your videos
Flyingwithbigern-well shots-)
That is impressive. Wonder what that paint cost.
Glad you back. Do you ever get to the east coast like tpa or rsw?
Does swa keep the logo lights on during flight?
Was at PHX last Tuesday. Was hoping to spot you 😂 My Captain son-in-law has had laser encounters as well while on approach. So stupid and dangerous.
I don't understand why people do that. The fine is a grip but the jail time is even worse!
Obama looking good flying at Southwest!
Hi Ern ❤✈!!!!! Stay Awesome!!!!! Many greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱🇺🇸!!!! Safe flights 😉 Xx...........
Nice video Ern
Love these videos....
I landed at John Wayne and the braking was intense. I bumped the seat in front because I was filming out the window.
Que legal
Are the rules about filming in the cockpit based on company rules or based on FAA policy?
Ref MH370 where would it be if he had dumped fuel ?
Post a video when/if you fly "Maryland One"
Looks like your headset batteries are low.. I’d offer mine but you pushed off the gate before I got this message sent. 😅
Why are all aircraft not ETOPS rated? What is the difference I thought all 737s have a 180 min ETOPS rating?
I've heard of an incident where an onboard passenger pointed a laser out the window at another aircraft on a parallel takeoff with that other aircraft. .
What do you do during the solar eclipse
Since Missouri is my home state, I always refer to it as ‘ Show Me One’. 😉
Fly and stay healthy. Have an amazing week. Cheers.
Did you see american airlines with container in 787 engine in Chicago ?
Have you ever fly Maryland one
I wounder how big earns landings our
