Great video guys and another fun collaboration. Eric: You will have a much more enjoyable time sport climbing if the clipping happens without any real effort. Also, you won't be back clipping anymore and potentially hurting yourself. Another point about safety; the waist belt of your harness is much to loose. If you were to flip upside down for any reason in a fall there is a possibility that you could pop out of your harness and fall to the ground. The waist belt should make a loop smaller around than your pelvis, making it impossible for it to slide down or for you to pop out of it.
"This is the most pure climbing video I've made in a while so I'm curious to see how it's received." This is the reason I subscribed to your channel. The challenges and stuff are fun, but the real climbing is what I'm here for.
So respectful of him to not just blindly show how to clean routes so people try to copy and fail because of their lack of experience. If you want to learn how to lead, clean routes, or other climbing safety please take a course! Trust me if you just watch a video and think you know it all and you forget something, you don't want to be playing with your life. Respect to you Magnus and like always great video and fantastic climb!
I actually get nervous when you are climbing and the music goes out, i'm just like that's it, he's going to fall, ypu got me in tension the hole climb ahaha, great job dude
Much respect for not saying much about your methods because of safety! Sometimes people say too much without realizing how that info could affect others in a negative way or put them in danger.
I was looking for this comment. I agree absolutely with you. Sometimes it’s better if you say nothing. A bit knowledge is sometimes worse than no knowledge.
The pigeons' sound is the best climbing soundtrack :D also, I totally feel Eric! Bouldering 3times per week makes me feel strong but then every sport climb is a big struggle :D
I hate when he chalks up in a 2 finger hold and looks like he is resting. You are so strong and giving your best at almost every go. Thanks for inspiring me to train harder every session :)
On 14:00 you can see that the gate is open while he was hanging there. I think that it’s pretty scary to see, how easily this happens. And you won’t even notice it. Edit: After I wrote this comment Magnus saw it😂
For me, those moments when there is no "epic" music and effects - just nature, and struggle sounds, are the best. I can actually feel like being there with You guys :)
I rarely comment, but I've seen a few of your other videos on how much effort the blog takes, and I really appreciated the outcome of this one. I like seeing people try new outdoor routes for the first time, go bolt-to-bolt, mess up clips, get scared, and so on, with good camerawork that shows the person and terrain correctly. So many videos just edit out clipping, I have no idea why. You also showed the climb from the ground up with the music set so that you could still hear the environment (and cursing, which is important) -- this, as opposed to 10 second clips of hard moves stitched together and overlaid with loud music. Personally, I mostly skip to the description of the climb / climbing footage, but I'm sure others have different tastes. Overall really solid job, would love to see more content like this.
I really like this style of video. I also REALLY enjoyed the bits of climbing where there was no music. Just the sounds of the wind and the birds and you climbing was very relaxing and raw. Keep up the good work!
I just wann say, like maybe half of the people here i have nothing to do with climbing, but i love the content, its something new, atleast for me and its addictive!! 👌👌👌😁😁😁
This channel is climbing pr0n. Outstanding work Magnus. The variety, colabs & pure quality stand out. Plus...not a single "power screaming send train posse shouting inane absurdities". THANK U!!
I love your video's :), and the beautiful shots are very well shot. You inspire me to try climbing. Tomorrow I will go to my local climbing gym for the very first time!
Ah, Magnus! I was at 12:26 and I found myself thinking: “I feel like this video ends soon, I hope it doesn’t” and then I actually saw the length of that beauty and that satisfying thing when you have 22 minutes more of a brilliant rock climbing! Thank you so much, the vid is awesome
I know that I'm a little late to this conversation, but how awesome to have Magnus filming you and encouraging and rooting you on the entire time! I can't wait to get out to Norway and hopefully climb with Magnus and get his encouragement too!
You can really tell how much thought and effort goes into each and every one of these videos. The content and production quality is second to none. Also really enjoying the chemistry between you and Eric. Keep up the great work!
I'm excited, and I haven't even watched it yet! This ought to tell you your channel is killing it Magnus! 11:00 is just beautiful. I also like the return to a climbing heavy video. It's nice to see again, and gets me stoked for going outside. Also just a comment: I really like Tenerife. The climbs seem like extended boulders. 31:00 is evidence of that. Some of the moves in Eric's video of your previous climb also remind me of that. Really cool stuff.
@@EricKarlsson I have my rope next to my TV so I can practice clipping while I watch you and Magnus climb! I'm going outside for the first time in two weeks and I want my clipping skills to be better for confidence.
Pigeons, “What the fuck dudes? This is our house.” Great video. Like Eric so pumped to climb outside. I’ve never climbed outside, but have been talking to my fellow dustbag friends and we’re planning on it.
Great colab with @Erik, learning so much and makes me want to get back to sport climbing again when you talk about how it feels to try hard and enjoying the moves. Looking forward to next one 💪🏻😃
I have soooo much respect for rock climbers, at times it looks like yall are defying gravity. I have a huge fear of heights, so it's not my thing, but I really enjoy watching it.
I really like your outdoor-lead-videos!!! And it's a great combination seeing you and Eric doing oudoor routes. Really high end climbing by you, and super-stoked-eric as someone, one can (still) relate to in climbing. Although, I think Eric will be crushing some grades in a short time, as he seems really strong in his fingers and he will get more and more used to sport climbing, if he does it more frequently. Anyway, I really enjoy watching him climb (outdoor routes).
I recently took up bouldering. This video makes me want to try sport and climb outside... love the visual style, the story the focus on the technical...
Magnus you should go to the Red River Gorge for some additional hard climbing. Maybe with Sasha? Loved the video, as always. Keep it up! The quality is so nice if we remember back to the 20k subscriber days.
hope you "got it up" Erik! Magnus is a god damn machine! id love to be able to have his skill, he just looks so comfortable and natural on a wall, every mono or 2finger my jaw drops. that's incredible
Missed this type of video! I just started making videos to watch myself and friend learn how to climb and progress faster and see how we learn! Your videos are a huge inspiration, thank you!
The whole time I was watching u climb this I was screaming ”coke on Magnus, let's go!" And so frustrated your buddy wasn't motivating you. Good shit Magnus great climb
Loved the video! You're the reason you got me into climbing (well only bouldering so far...) and I'm really thankful for that. 5C+ is the best I can do at the moment so still a ways to go :P Would love to see more projects from you. Like really see you working on a route and pushing yourself until you've made it. You could even make several videos about that journey and just space them out over a couple of months.
This makes me want to climb outdoors so badly, only been bouldering a few months but I am going to head outdoors this summer, thanks for the constant inspiration from both your channels!
Magnus, I watch all your videos and enjoy them all, but this one was insane. I just can’t believe that it is possible to climb that well. I climb and I understand it all but it just seems that you appear to be climbing on an entirely different planet where gravity is about 1/4 what it is on Earth. Just awe inspiring! By the way, the planet I climb on has gravity about 4 times what it is on Earth, lol...
Oh I love that epsiode. Just seen the first half with Eric, but in this part there are so many situations every climber has experienced I guess. So authentic and well done Eric! :)
Great video! Focused on climbing + filmed and edited on such a high level. One of the best videos on the whole channel, that I have followed more or less since the beginning.
Amazing video as always, Magnus! Great to see both of you trying hard, and inspiring to see that even amazing climbers leave the crag without sending the project of the day. Thanks!

Magnus: Well, I don't really have any expectations
Also Magnus: It went pretty much as expected
Carlos310123 that’s humorous because you highlighted how he contradicted himself in a fashion that’s popular on the internet.

Eric Karlsson Bouldering please do before you get hurt! That was tuff to watch 🙈
Nice climbing Eric!! You should try the pinch/scissor method of clipping as well, gives you more reach and is very hard to backclip off!
Only if you can get it up
I almost fell just watching. Palms were sweaty!

good content. I prefere these videos wich focus on the pure climbing. Very good film work as well.

Except for that second crux. I could plainly see that it was absolutely brutal, but there wasn't a good angle to show exactly what what happening.
