Honestly I absolutely loved the side quest Paronia it was so hillarious to pretend to be super sneaky and following them for no reason at all and then to kill Glarthir was a great bonus.
When i play the quest i just said to him that he was followed and when he give me a letter for people who i need to kill i just report him to the guard

I actually like the adoring fan, I'm replaying Oblivion and use a sneak / archer character and he sometimes goes up and talks to people and occupies them while I can sneak around easier. Also he lights your location with a torch, I'd prefer to have a non combat decoy character cuz the AI is dumb

Also, I just told him to wait right outside my crappy little waterfront shack- he serves as a porch light at night :D Also, best fellowship ever: Adoring Fan, Everscamps (I held onto that stupid staff for quite a while) and a Dark Brotherhood Initiate- my own little dungeon crawling crew!
Personally, Glarthir's quest was one of my favorites. I enjoyed sneaking after everyone, acting as an amateur slueth, conspiring against Glarthir by gaining his trust and then betraying him to the Guard--proving that, in the end, he was right about being conspires against. It always made me feel deviously manipulative. Unsurprisingly, I also was a member of the Dark Brotherhood.
I like the adoring fan, it feels good that someone finally recognizes my effort. I mean, in Skyrim you complete quests and as much people will say a couple of new lines, but with the adoring fan following you around actually feels like you're a celebrity loved by all.
I remeber when me and my brothers got the adoring fan we all thought it was the coolest thing ever. We are like "Dude! This guy just follows me with a torch, I finally have a free hand for a sword"

in gothic 1 there was a guy in the first town that, from the moment he first sees you, joins to follow you around and does exactly what adoring fan does BUT he litterally start a forced "look at me i'm talking" stuff even in the middle of the battle and you can do nothing about it (unless he dies in an "accident")
I always found myself leaving the Adoring Fan in random places and forgetting about him then getting the shit scared out of me when my game was going all nice and peaceful then suddenly "BY AZURA BY AZURA BY AZURA" Then my startled-ness would instantly transmutate into pure, unadulterated rage as I realized this stain on Mundus still existed. Just saw one of the top comments. Never thought about putting him in an Oblivion gate. Perhaps I can finally be rid of him now.
I went to the well in Cheydinhal, sat in there with he fin gleam helm on and I watched as the adoring fan drowned to death. He hasn't respawned though so that's good.

In the glarthir mission you don't have to follow them all you have to do is stand there and wait 24 hours,then tell him whatever you want ,i like to tell him they are following him ,then when he tells you to kill them depending on my mood i kill them or i just turn him in and watch him die ,loot his body and then rob his house,his mission is actually 1 of my favorites after the whodunnit mission because theres so many different ways to do it.

@@TheCantinaChannel Yeah, you can find out that the people he accusses really were shady within reason, just that they weren't plotting against him but for the Emperor, the city is also home to one of the only athiests in the Elder Scrolls, an orc who doesn't believe in the Aedra because they "Don't do anything and have proof that it was them", although she does believe in the Daedra because they atleast are physically there, she is also a member of the Mythic Dawn
I actually completed the quest to kill alval uvani without doing anything because before i was doing the dark brotherhood quests i were in the thief guild doing some business and you know i always found alval inside that house. While i was caught stealing i ran to that house and alval was there, he tried to kill me but a guard or the house owner killed him after.
Regarding Galathir, it is for everyone's best interest to play along and tell him what he wants to hear. You get paid, and then you can kill him/tell the guards to kill him :D
the best thing about the adoring fan is that you can bring him to a city jail, tell him to wait here when he is in the cell, then close the door. you can do it with any npc that follows you. its so satisfying to lock mazoga the orc in jail.
Oh boy..A really weird wood elf would Thurindil in Anvil. The guy is actually the harmless type of crazy, but he's still clearly very crazy. I think he tells your character that his father is a god and that his Mom is the queen of Aki'vir. He doesn't like itchy clothes either, but he wears it so he doesn't scare the fishes.
I actually like Glarthir because he's an easy source of money early in the game. You don't even have to follow these people, just wait til midnight and tell him that they are following him and you get free 250 gold or so. You can also kill them any time later on to get the extra 1000 gold, if you report to him that they are all spying on him. I also found Maglir to be quite understandable. I remember the first time I went into that cave(for the first contract he ignores), I had the difficulty too high up and the first zombie almost murdered me lol. All that for just 200 gold, and iirc he also had a family and stuff; I found him to be reasonable.

the best thing about the adoring fan is that you can bring him to a city jail, tell him to wait here when he is in the cell, then close the door. you can do it with any npc that follows you. its so satisfying to lock mazoga the orc in jail.

Oh boy..A really weird wood elf would Thurindil in Anvil. The guy is actually the harmless type of crazy, but he's still clearly very crazy. I think he tells your character that his father is a god and that his Mom is the queen of Aki'vir. He doesn't like itchy clothes either, but he wears it so he doesn't scare the fishes.
I actually like Glarthir because he's an easy source of money early in the game. You don't even have to follow these people, just wait til midnight and tell him that they are following him and you get free 250 gold or so. You can also kill them any time later on to get the extra 1000 gold, if you report to him that they are all spying on him.
I also found Maglir to be quite understandable. I remember the first time I went into that cave(for the first contract he ignores), I had the difficulty too high up and the first zombie almost murdered me lol. All that for just 200 gold, and iirc he also had a family and stuff; I found him to be reasonable.
