I love the cheasy yet charming voice acting in Oblivion. Honestly kind of wished they had kept them in Skyrim, but I understand that they wanted a more serious Elder Scrolls game with Skyrim.

Wes Johnson actually did great voice acting, it's just that the graphics were from an earlier time. A lot of people agree Lucien Lechance was the best character voice acting in the game

was that really in the game though? I do rememer that there as a mod that made those lines possible in the games but it's also possible they were there just so that it could be used later on.
And if you're playing as a dark elf woman he creepily hits on you, which was a nice touch.

Wait...what? There were people who didn't like Mazoga? She's one of my favorite characters in Oblivion. It never seems like she's deliberately trying to be rude, she's just extremely straightforward and her thinking can be overly simplistic. She made mistakes in the past but she decided she wanted to be a better person.
Exactly, same here. Mazoga seems like a kind person and while she can be, demanding and loud about getting what she wants, she ultimately becomes a better person and just wants to be heard and acknowledged
Exactly, I considered her kind of a misunderstood Orc who is simple-minded but good hearted. Sure she’s rough around the edges and kinda rude at first, but she does seem to take her oath seriously, and seeing her excited after becoming a knight was a touching little moment.

She's not too bright, and that's what makes her charming. Oblivion writers knew how to make side quests interesting - make the people involving them interesting.

He seemed nice and all from the outside but secretly he held a hidden torturing chamber within his castle where he tortured Argonian prisoners just because he didn't like them

Actually since he's one of the nice ones that the Countess is doing this behind his back.
You know, I was actually going to comment that at first, but then I read that apparently they torture argonians together, so I wasn't sure whether the countess alone is torturing the argonians, or if the count is also involved.
AJgames29 they do it together. My understanding it's a kink as the secret room is so close to their bedchamber.

If he does know: That means that, when he's talking to an Argonian character, he treats them just the same as anyone else, but would also see absolutely nothing wrong with slowly torturing and killing them if given the chance, which makes him one hell of a two-faced prick.
If he doesn't know: This means that this brutality is being done right under his nose, by the one woman he should be able to trust the most.
The worst thing about Ulrich is the fact that he doesn't know you and doesn't care to know you.
Mazoga was annoying at first but she turned out alright... The one that pissed me off was that asshole necromancer during the mages guild quest line. I don't quite remember his name but I do remember diving into a well and had to hold my breath a very long time to find an enchanted ring that weighs a shit ton. Crazy bastard tried to kill me!

Mazoga was a great character. She had a romantic and pure vision of knighthood, and she clinged to that as a mean of redemtion

I think it was Valen’s guard who put the hit on him. They knew he’d be back and they were sick of him.
That makes a lot of sense, but it'd also be very dangerous, considering one of their captains has an axe to grind with the brotherhood.
That makes sense and also explains why you're instructed not to kill any guards: he doesn't want his buddies to get hurt.

Yea the whole economy in the Elder scrolls has always been kinda messed up. On one hand you have some people saying that to some peasants 5 gold is a fortune, on other piece of loaf of bread or a mug of ale costs way over that and then you have things like pure silver tableware that when sold you get barely one single gold coin from.

The Cantina I think the Elder Scrolls economy would be way easier to keep track of if they had non gold coins like many other fantasy games do

Totally just saying but... historically speaking that's exactly how you become a knight. The whole "king and sword" thing didn't happen 99% of the time. Normal people took the knight oaths (don't fight for unholy causes, don't fight on holy days, follow the christian credo) all the time and because true knights. It's not till later, around 1300, that knighting became an active thing and a split appeared between Sir Knights and knights. The former obviously being Noblesse.

Ring of Burden. Probably the only one ever. Take my gold! Do you get the overheard dialogue about how the mage's guild water has been tasting strange lately? Easy to miss, but clever.
At least there's a nirnroot in that well (I know I'm late but hey, someone has to do it)
Mazoga's ok by me because honestly she's actually a really good fighter. I thought I was going to have to struggle to keep her alive when fighting the bandits in her questline like that "Knights of the Thorn" jerk. But no, she actually took care of the two bandit camps almost completely by herself, I just hung back and let her do her thing. When you fight that good, you're allowed to be cocky.
Yay new Oblivion video! Killing the Khajit in the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary is the only good part of cleansing the place.

Only issue with Ulrich Leland, he is one of the soldiers that are sent to Bruma for the Main Quest. If he dies or is replaced through his quest, then you're down a soldier.
that's why it's best to get the evidence against him, because then he gets thrown in prison and replaced.

If you are playing on PC, then open the command console (usually the tilde key), select her model, and type 'resurrect'.
Frog Dog if you do the quest on a higher level, she ends up having daedric

I like Mazoga because I was being a smart ass to her. Eventually we both got Knighted together, that was pretty cool. I like her, shes kind of endearing to me.

The pirates in the Imperial City. They say "I ain't got nothin' to say to you fancy pants" They'll also try to kill you if you go near their ship.
+Daniel Caedmon ya they are part of the dark brotherhood quest line so you can get some payback there.
The Cantina or you can get the guards to murder them. Snooty pirates calling me fancy pants fine. I just put my tootsies on their precious boat they draw weapons, and I evade them. The guard flies in there, and murders them. In one play though I loaded in, and the guard was fighting them before I did anything.
I feel like Alval Uvani should have replaced Mazoga on this list. Mazoga was rude, but it was because her best friend was murdered and she was frustrated that she couldn't get the resources she needed to set things right. There is actual just motivation behind her attitude.
Alval, on the other hand, threatens to kill you just for getting near him!

I don't know what's worse with Valen. Him insulting people, or him flirting with you if you're a female Dunmer (maybe Nord and Redguard too).
+Jutland Angel he flirts with most of the female races. Except orcs and Breton's I believe. But being a female dunmer he is the creepiest.
I took advantage of the character editor and fucked up my female dunmer's face. I laughed out loud when I heard that dialog.
He never flirted with me when I was a female Argonian. Just taunted me that I'd never swim again.
Only Dark Brotherhood contract I never felt the least guilty about.

Speaks-in-memes I believe you can only find Black Soul Gems during the Mages' Guild recommendation quest, and they can't even be used.
And when you get dreths soul you don't use it and let him suffer in that soul gem for eternity
@@kit76149 Yeah you can. Just use any soul gem on the altar in one of the four specified locations on every 4th day at midnight (IIRC).
I absolutely disagree with Mazoga The Orc being on that list, at firt when I found her I was impressed by her cool armor and stuff -and frankly there are "jerkier" people on the city-
She then giver you a quest that has emotion, fight, (wich I died multiple times because I was low level) and then when you finish she gives you another quest and when you complete both you will have a lot of cool new stuff and weapon (you can acquire lots of silver bow in the second one) and if that wasn't enough you can get your very first player home with a roommate and a chest you can put your stuff (it's a very simple house)
What about the guy in the mages guild that tried to drown you in a well?

Yeah, I still remember when after playing as a night elf I made a new khajiit character and hoped that now M'raai-Dar will like me. Such disappointment. However, I recall liking Mazoga quite a lot. This may be due to the fact that Polish version of the game makes her a bit more polite. Additionality, in Polish version she wants the bandits dead because they killed her friend.
+Maera Fey She wants them dead for that reason in the English version as well. But they were both bandits who probably killed random people on the road so it's a bit hypocritical.
And now I feel like replying her quest and checking out her entire story once again. Which may be a good idea, since it ends with getting a player home and a swell title.
For some reason I only semi enjoyed this channel at first but as I watched more videos your channel has grown on me and you even got me back into Oblivion PC for the first time in over a year. You got me to play Oblivion instead of W.o.W. dude gj. Love the content and I hope this channel stays golden.

Been playing Oblivion and when I met the Khajiit in the Dark Brotherhood, I instantly had to see this video. But I can't lie, I like how there's always that one member of the Dark Brotherhood that is an unlikable jerk. Makes it feel a little more believable.

If you are a female dark elf Valen is actually pretty nice to you, even offering to use a favor he is owed to get you both in the same cell to have some "fun" before you die, and then he becomes kinda mean reminding you that you're gonna die in there.
That. Really isn't nice. He's threatening to rape you. If he has favor with the guards, you can presume that they aren't going to care about YOUR consent because you're just a lowly prisoner.

You missed out the captain of the guard in the imperial city. He is bleeding the local businesses dry and threatens anyone who tried to stop him with a massive 1000 gold bounty. Even if you get him arrested, he breaks out and tries to kill you later on in the game and the other two who testified against him.
