Thank you so much for the kind review! It's much appreciated. A ton of work, effort, and love from the whole team went into it. One thing that you didn't mention that's pretty unique is the concept of ownership. That was pioneering at the time and still very rarely done. Not just dirt but the entire state of an owned aircraft is saved after each flight and you as owner are responsible for the maintenance (and cleaning!) over time. This is unique to each livery. Some of your liveries for the 310 can be owned, and some rented, and some just flown like any sim airplane. Again thanks :)
It's been in the hangar for too long. Time to give it a wash, check the maintenance schedule and take it for a fly! Great review. Totally agree with your scores. Well done!
Great review @twotonemurphy! I'm also very impressed with the time you took to edit and turn this into a real cinematic production. Not many Flight Sim channels take the time of putting much of any production in their videos.
Had this plane since it was out, it really is a dream to fly in VR. Recently found my love for it again, and on one recent flight had my first unexpected engine failure - what an immersive flight that was, landing at Milford Sound with 1 engine was quite a challenge! Love the flight model, the detailing, the wear and tear etc. Prob my fav Milviz/Blackbird aircraft to date (well until the Huey arrives I'm guessing)!
I love these review vids Murph. I've learned something about the planes on every one so thanks hon!! - Lauren (ps so many beautiful shots!! You gave me some new ideas!)
I bought it 2 years ago and I fly it regulary just sometime for the sound of engin at takeoff. With VR with headset bluetooth you are inside a real one !
Your wish is already fulfilled. Enjoy more of this (and even a thousand times better) by getting tha beyond awesome Black Square Piston and Turbine Duke!
Following you just for a short time now…..Personally I don’t own the C310 from Blackbird Simulations, but I do with the C414 from Flysimware. When we take the vintage look into account (the aircraft looks a bit “ simple” and old fashioned) 310 looks great and the features are fantastic…..but I doubt if its overall score would come above the FSW C414. But I agree that the sounds do seem to be better and there are more features. But lets talk about your channel and the movies that you make, now that’s a 5 out of 5! Great cinematics, great sound from your mike or the flawless presentation. I seem to agree with the comments that you make and as a former twin engine airplane and helicopter Privat Pilot, I do rate aircraft quite critically. Be careful with these stalls….these aircraft are known for a deadly spin stalling it and lose one engine at the same time….😅 Thanks for the great review !
Excellent review! I agree with everything you say and I still really like flying this plane, BUT it has a deal breaker to me, which is what makes me fly it only once in a while. The behavior of oils and temperature is not modeled, which for me the care to be taken with the engines is an essential part of a good airplane. For example the MOD WB Sim of the 172 and the 152 or the Comanche of a2a, these have modeled the behavior of temperatures and oil the DC-6 of PMDG has it to, and the free mod of the Beech 18 from Denarq. If they released an update with the temperature and oil behavior modeled and it vibrates when the plane is idling, it would possibly be the best plane simulated in GA Cheers man!
`That it picks up dirt over time is an amazing detail. Is this saved after each flight, so that when you load the sim again it has the same amount of dirt as when you last left it?
It’s great, but the COWS DA42VI took over the small twin slot for me. The DA doesn’t have all the features, but I think its flight model is much better. I think the C310 flight model is very twitchy. It’s likely based on the old MSFS flight model.
The 310 is famously very twitchy in pitch which is represented quite well in the game. You need a light touch to fly it well. The DA42 is indeed much more stable as is the real world counterpart, hence why it's a popular and safe trainer for multi engine instruction. I think both have their own place respectively as well as their strengths
Tis yerself.... I love the Irish & I love Ireland, it is the most friiendly & warm welcoming country I have ever visited! I even have an Irish wife & we've been happily married for the last 23yrs, to be sure to be sure!!!!
I love this bird unfortunately I am on the Xbox and it has not worked correctly for some updates now. On the other hand tho I have flown the A2A Comanche everyday since it had come to Xbox and have not had the smallest of issues.
4.0 at handling when you say every single point of handling is very good and that they nailed it! What you be required for 4.5? And 5? Cleary is looks imposible to hit!
I bought the 310R a month or so ago and just couldn't get on with it. I don't understand the hype. I have a better feeling of ownership with something like the A2A Comanche. But more importantly, the flight model feels bad. It's really not nice to fly at all. At least for me and especially when compared to more recent releases.
its actually fairly difficult to take points off an addon especially when so much is so good. But, when comparing this to others - although it is feature rich - its missing some basics
@@twotonemurphy missing basics ?? this is confusing. All planes are not the same in real life and neither should it be in sim basics are also a loose term , especially in simming. this is a great value addon in most instances you dont want a 100% real addon because it takes the fun out of simming. to fly a 100% real addon is not the norm because you need to be a true pilot. and most of us will never experience the true nuances of the real thing so to expect in sim with no momentum or innertia makes realsim pure opinion and "feel"
@@pieterduplessis6906 great points and I can't argue with that. What Im getting at when saying basics - the dynamic tail number doesnt replace the one on the livery, no navigraph integration. Its still one of the very best and right now, its the best twin in the sim
While the overall features may be lower, I think the flight model on the 414 is better. It's one of the few addons that seem to model weight and inertia and doesn't shoot off the runway on takeoff. However, both the 414 and 310, along with planes like the Comanche, are some of the best GA add-ons available right now.
@@twotonemurphy I agree with @robbyyant6213. I've never flown a real Cessna 310, but have flown a Cessna 402 (got more experience in a Beech Baron), and the the 414 seems to have a much better "feel" to it (flight model wise), including simulating torque and p-factor more realistically and with what I'm used to. Plus the ambient sounds, and the changing pitch prop sounds seem more on point with the 414. Granted, I think the 310 does tend to fly more like a brick irl (than most twins) anyway, and BlackBird Simulations has improved the flight model a lot since the first release--especially for behind the power curve situations. I do actually use Blackbird's 310 for my around the world without GPS video series (that I'm slowly putting together), simply because I can remove the GPS from the cockpit configuration--albeit a somewhat silly point when you have built-in MSFS map and third party mapping software. I also like the 310s random wide-ranging system failures--which the 414 does not have.
I read a comment by a real 310r pilot (@flyboy98) ’….it’s pretty poorly modelled. I’m not a huge fan of it. The single engine performance is nothing like a real 310.’ This kind of put me off it

I only just bought this plane a couple of weeks ago, it's definitely one of the best GA's in my collection, very well modelled and a joy to fly 😊

I really like this plane. It's my daily-flyer. You showed some really nice video action shots. Good job!
I really dig the review with the tunes! I love this 310. And the ownership features that come with it. Im putting many hours on it.

Still my favourite GA twin in MSFS. Fly it often. Great review thanks.
Great review, and so nice to be able to understand what youre saying when you speak normally.
Im glad you liked it!
Already own this. Thanks for the review Murph 🎉^Haden
I literally bought it yesterday 😁 what a blast
I rate it 4,5
And agree with your rating.
This looks like an amzing aircraft, also it says potential for failures which is awesome. The accumulation of dirt and wear and tear ect is very cool

Hi Murph... you forgot to mention the most important feature of this plane.. the bobble head on the dashboard!
Ohh the bobblehead! The question is, does it have a name?
@@twotonemurphy I would call it Einstein .. what with the resemblance and all ..

There is no other GA plane that sounds this good for MSFS imo
