For me this aircraft is the gold standard in MSFS. A2A have done amazing job. The accusim is my favorite feature. I love doing the walk around and monitoring the airframe and engine wear. I have over 100 hours on my airframe and I can feel the brakes wearing and the flap linkages showing play, amazing. I picked up the DA42 recently and found it similar to the Comanche, fluid and lively and great sounds.
I have barely flown anything else since the Comanche first came out. I’ll never own a real airplane. A2A have me covered now I feel like an owner. This thing feels alive unlike any other plane across any flight sim.
I was thinking about the cost of a plane and I found a Comanche with a monthly pay to own about the same as a car payment… I rebuilt and own my car so I mean I could maybe just pay to own one? I thought they were going to be more expensive than I thought or everyone made it sound. Just got to look around really.
The A2A Comanche, hands down is one of my favorite aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator. It is by far my favorite GA aircraft. If you haven't picked up this aircraft and own MSFS then you are cheating yourself from an amazing aircraft. When it comes to The A2A Comanche it doesn't get much better and I have to give it a 5 out of 5. I absolutely love this aircraft. Great video highlighting this amazing aircraft!
Love your reviews Murph! Keep ‘em coming my friend. Love A2A’s products. Have the Comanche of course and all their products for FSX which I still use. Hope we see the Connie and the Strat from them at some point too for MSFS. How about reviewing the PMDG DC-6 next? Another beautiful aircraft in my opinion!
I do absolutely agree with the score, in my opinion this is the best aircraft addon in the MSFS so far. Had enormous pleasure flying it in the game, visiting my favorite locations, and the inspection is also simulated perfectly. Wish it was a standard for all the aircraft in the game.
Yup. The mighty Comanche. The benchmark for everything else. I'd love to see how you think the new Da42 compares. I've been flying it nonstop for a couple of weeks now. It doesn't have all the extra features of the Comanche, but the sounds are great, systems are deep, and it flies like a dream. It's hard to believe this isn't their own external flight model like A2A did it with the Comanche.
The da42 is the twin benchmark the sim has been waiting on. The devs and testing team are all certified da42 pilots and CfIi personnel so it really benefitted from that..
Completely agree with the rating. This is some piece of kit. A couple of things worth mentioning... the creaks of the fuselage seem to change depending on which part of the plane is being affected by the wind, that was a nice discovery! Also this plane uses an injected flight model that bypasses the Msfs model, I think thats the main game changer when it comes to flight models - as we see with the Flyinside helicopters doing the same for example. I'm yet to finish my across America journey in this - been too many other distractions since, but this video was good inspiration to get back at it (the Ireland tour was a tad short)!
Cheers mate. War & Peace follows, but I hope that enthusiasts get some ideas/ask me pertinent qustions. I got this about a month ago. Absolutely stunning! I'm a semi-serious flight simmer, so I wasn't sure if I would be able to handle/be bothered with a totally immersive experience. But, after 3 weeks intensive use, I've started to base 'real' used/auction planes needing regular maintenance around the world - Glasgow/Tenerife/Gibraltar/Malta/Las Vegas/St Barts*. * Landing here was always 'challenging' for me, but the plane handles so well & I've now developed a successful technique which lets me land pretty well usually. I've had to come up with my own figures for climb rate/fuel usage/time, since the published figures seem rather 'optimistic'! But my calculations usually end up quite accurate on extreme range flights. If my 45 min Reserve/Alternative airport/5% contingency plans look a bit compromised during a flight, I can always trade off losing a very small amount of speed for better fuel efficiency by changing to the lower book fuel flow figures for the power settings. I love the way I need to deal with carburetor ice/icing up at altitude/overheating CHTs etc. A couple of times I've noticed my ASI decaying dramatically - it was my pitot icing up in moist (which I hadn't noticed) sub zero conditions. Applying heat solved it within a minute or so. Since I do a lot of flying over the sea (eg Tenerife - Madeira, today), I use one of the pieces of baggage to represent the weight of a 4 man liferaft/4 immersion suits. Depending upon the temp at altitude/moisture conditions, I'll fly at up to 12,000' ft without oxygen (I've been up Mt Teide in Tenerife at this altitude). I reckon I could glide at least 30n in the event of engine failure. But for extended periods I don't like to fly above 8,500' P Alt - need to think of these poor avatars in the plane! Strangely the unusable 2 G per main tnk fuel operated correctly at first, but after an early update I could unrealistically then use all the fuel. I deal with this by reducing my max fuel capacity by 4G. To stay honest I split the 24 lbs weight between the occupants! I was a big fan of Just Flight's study-level Cherokee for 2+ yrs, but this is even better/more realistic/immersive (according to real-life pilots)
One of the most flown planes in my hanger. Getting places slowly is normally something I only consider for short trips, but this plane - the ASI is in MPH btw - just begs to be used on long trips. The main reason for electrical controls in the tablet is to let you turn things on and off from outside on the walkaround, did you discover you can test the pitot heater by 'holding' the head ? It turns red or blue to let you know if it's hot or cold.
Bought this bird a while back but haven't played it yet, sorry flown it hahaha. Thanks for the review and the motivation Sir Murph of Refundsville 🙂 ^Haden_UK
Just bought the TBM850 so want to settle into that one first (and let the bank balance recover) but thanks to your video, the A2A Comanche is 100% next on my list. ❤
Mine's currently parked up in the hanger until the brakes are fixed.🤣 Seems that the changes in Beta 15 to ground handling mean that the brakes drag and even with the chocks in place the aircraft edges forward at idle.
Try the Cessna 182 and 172 from A2A. They are also verry realistic. For example: when you think your grapics card is going down because the image is fading out. Just put on cockpit ventilation. These guys from A@A are auwsome
Two tone.....Zeroblog needs your help with using that A380 FMC, thing. He crashed trying to get somewhere. Which isnt abnormal lol. He almost had it down but......BOOM!
Totally agree with your score. This plane looks amazing, regarding modelling and textures, and the features are bountiful. And after seeing your review and several others, I will buy this addon tomorrow. The only thing I'm a bit afraid of is the autopilot system, as it is a bit vintage-y... But, I guess, I'll get used to it also... It'll be a challenge! I do love your score animations, from 0 to 5, did you design them yourself? Very cool! I give it a 5!
To say it that way, after FSX and P3D i asked my self which sim is my next, XP11 or MSFS, A2A said they will support MSFS so here i am never looked towards PX11 or 12. I knew what i get even before i knew what they are up to. and don't ask me how, they manage to lift the standards every time.
The only problem is that it is impossible to install it on MFS. Error 408. And I'm not thye only one looking at the number of email on the support site.
It has replaced everything I own that is similar performance, the JF Arrows and Warrior, Bonanzas including the Black Square ones, WB Sim 172, all of them. If I am not in the Comanche it is because I am flying something totally different like the Ant Tiger Moth or the TBM 850. There are a few people around (including some streamers) putting off buying it because "it can't be that much better" than previous leading offerings like the JF Arrows but they are just wrong. The Comanche is in a class of it's own.
There is *nothing* like the Comanche on the Market. It makes the Just Flight Pipers and Blackbird 310R seem like freeware......and it's *flawless* on my Xbox. Memory issues are non-existent with this plane. Everytime I fly the 250, I further understand why you PC guys say you have a hard time flying anything else! ❤
You didn't mention the autopilot on the Comanche, it makes the brain fizzle and pop and isn't quite as intuitive, is it? I wonder if that could've lowered your overall score by a notch. Meanwhile, of late, I have flown and loved the BN2 Islander. It may not have the same complexity of the Comanche but it sure flies well and delivers satisfaction of flight. Give it a look-see then next.
its an incredible simulation of the S-Tec autopilot, so much so you can actually follow the OEM manual on it. Is it as good as some of the more modern ones? Probably not - but the unit is modelled perfectly by A2A
You know what would be cool Murphy? If you reviewed one of the Black Square overhauled planes, maybe the King Air ? All of these overhauled planes share similar features from what I've gathered so reviewing one would give us a good idea of how they all stack up against the competition. I'd love to pick up the King Air at some point but I'm worried about the 1-sentence long section on the flight model in the features list. It says the flight model is slightly improved. It'd be great to know how good these BS planes really are.
You have not explored the cockpit enough. There are two functional ashtrays, they both open and close. The glove box also opens and there are also life vests stored in the back you can click on and equip your crew and passengers for over water flights.
Your 10-15 minute aircraft reviews are awesome - please continue to make more!

Something is beeping in DA42 constantly (nav1nav2? dunno I can't turn it off)
This plane has been my little baby since it was released. What a joy to use this plane. Can't wait to see what they do next.

this is by far my favorite GA aircraft. just a little difficult to slow down to land but absolutely awsome
Just bought the module based of your review, well done
This video helped me know for sure I wanted the Comanche and ohhhh boyyy it is amazing
I heard a lot of good things, and this review confirms it in depth! On my wishlist for sure, I look forward to flying the Comanche.

Very nice intro montage. You have put a lot of work into that, obviously!
Yep. That just about says it all, good man.
Wish wish wish another A2A was on its way too.
Bestest,

These vids / reviews are PURE quality!

Yep, I’d say the DA42 flight model is just a half step below the Comanche. I prefer a more modern airplane.
The da42 is the twin benchmark the sim has been waiting on. The devs and testing team are all certified da42 pilots and CfIi personnel so it really benefitted from that..
There’s still more to come in future updates for the DA42 as well
@@aileronsintowind6835 Yeah, a ton of failures are coming I heard. And a tablet.
@@davidtsw it’s on the cards

I purchased this for Xbox. It was a lot of money. It worked the first time flawlessly! I love it.
$50 is nothing these days.
As expected. A2A just delivers.
Bought this bird a while back but haven't played it yet, sorry flown it hahaha. Thanks for the review and the motivation Sir Murph of Refundsville 🙂 ^Haden_UK
Be careful, once you do fly it you will not fly anything else.
There are options for the options within the options LOL!

Best plane/ addon in our sim right now.
Dear LORD that’s a beautiful plane. ❤️
Mine's currently parked up in the hanger until the brakes are fixed.🤣
Seems that the changes in Beta 15 to ground handling mean that the brakes drag and even with the chocks in place the aircraft edges forward at idle.
A lot of people are reporting that issue but mine personally is fine. It seems one of those random issues that does not effect everyone.
Beauty aircraft. I need one.

FYI: Its middle June 24 and for the first time this bird went on sale. Its 20% off on the MS marketplace. I wonder if it will work in MSFS24?
Two tone.....Zeroblog needs your help with using that A380 FMC, thing. He crashed trying to get somewhere. Which isnt abnormal lol. He almost had it down but......BOOM!
Hows the plane compared to, lets say, Just Fligts GA Piper-aircrafts or the Black Square Analogue-series, like the A36 Bonanza?
Just imagine when A2A bring the cessna 182..
I have two copies, PC and Xbox. And worth every penny.
