thank you thank you thank you I have suffered with severe scoliosis and do one your practices everyday. I am constantly in severe pain and find your yoga to lift me up and relieve some of that pain, you have helped me so much , and I am eternally grateful.. you are the best namaste. love you and Benji
Just started doing yoga two days ago (just watching her videos) since I was diagnosed with a 12 degree lower curve and a 15 degree upper curve when I was 14, and I'm 32 now. I had heard various guys talk about how it helped them (yea, sexist bias, you don't often hear or see guys doing yoga, at least I don't) and considered it, the one thing that really drove me to finally give it a try was I woke up Monday afternoon two weeks ago and my lower back locked up. I'm sure you know what the stabbing, excruciating pain feel like when you move the wrong way, I was like that for a good 36-48 hours, could barely walk the first 24 hours. About a week later on a random Reddit thread I saw a bunch of guys around my age, with back issues, talking about how yoga helped them immensely. I had been planning on going to a scoliosis specific yoga class/studio, but their only beginner class was Wednesday at noon, I mentioned that....and they all directed me here! After 3 days I don't feel much different posture/strength wise yet, but I know it's helping because I can feel the "energy" while stretching, and a lot of muscles are definitely weak since they're trembling like crazy hahaha For about a half hour to an hour after I'm done, I feel the same way I did after a visit to the chiropractor, endorphins flowing I'm guessing. I'm definitely gonna keep up with this...looks like I should buy a mat and get off of my bare floor hahahhaha
I’m here from the 2023 February calendar, after finishing the Center 30 day challenge! 😄 This felt so good, especially when we got to lay on one ear after those strengthening cobra/locust poses!
Just what I needed. Also here after 30 Day Center practice in January 2023. So grateful for this time and for everybody here. Massive thanks to Adriene.❤
Morning everybody! Today I felt really tired, which I noticed gradually throughout the practice. At one point I asked my body: what would feel good? And it responded: rest. I took a childspose and it felt really nice. Everytime I do this (listening and responding to my body) it feels so new, so strange, and so right. For me, this is what yoga is about now: listening to my body. Of course I hope to become stronger in the process, but it is not my aim anymore, because that only results in me pushing myself beyond my limits. Just wanted to share this :) A special hi to everybody following the Align calendar and namaste to you all!
I also took a little break during the practice as my lower back isn’t 100% and I felt I was straining it, listening to our bodies is the best thing we can do for them :)
This is perfect! I suffer from Scoliosis and have been using your videos off and on for a year now. Today my back was really bothering me so I decided to do some Yoga With Adriene. And what do you know! A brand new video just for Scoliosis. I would love to see a whole set done with this topic. Like "30 days of yoga - for scoliosis." I'd pay for that!
I also recommend Julie Wilkins from Forever Fused for those that had a spinal fusion. She has adaptations only classes that allow me to make normal practices accessible.
I’ve been doing this practice, yoga for text neck, and yoga for upper back for a month or two now, and I notice BIG difference and improvement in my posture, moreover, the amount of pain when standing or sitting for a long time has significantly decreased. I love doing this, I love Adriene, this is such a game changer! I would love to see more practices on this topic, like practice for the core that doesn’t stress the back, or something that could be added in this routine. Keep them coming please!!
I have with diagnosed scoliosis and was told to get surgery, but I couldn't afford it, so the doctor told me to do yoga and exercises instead. You're yoga helped me, I'm feeling upset, in paind and depressed today but after I did the yoga. I feel refreshed and relax! See you tomorrow
I was 11 years old when I found out I have scoliosis. I had so much pain (both physically and mentally). I hated my body and I hated myself. I had to have surgery 4 years ago and my pain was still with me. Sometimes I couldn't even get out of bed. BUT NOW I have yoga so it's more bearable. When I get up with a terrible pain, I do a couple of yoga poses and I'm good to go! All thanks to you, the person who made me fall in love with yoga. I'm forever grateful. Namaste! 💖
Ceren I also suffer scoliosis at age 12 and I am hoping not to have surgery how big was ur curve when u had to get surgery I have a 44 degree curve right now
@@annacarlson4827 hiii!! I too had about a 45 degree curve when I had surgery. Also, the surgery is not necessarily for the curve bt rather for all the nerves that the are bein tensed up. After surgery I immediately noticed my muscles of my leg and my toes relax. Do have surgery if your doctor is urgin you and your curve is progressing
@@annacarlson4827 Hi there! I also discovered my scoliosis around age 11-12. My doctors monitored me throughout high school, and even though I wore a brace for two years, my curves kept getting worse. I had a spinal fusion at 18, right after graduating! I was scared, but I had doctors I trusted, and I came out the other side taller and in a lot less pain. So do your best to get regular checkups from your doctors, and don't be afraid. Scoliosis has so many variations. It's so personal. The best advice for you will be the best advice for *you.* I'm happy to answer questions if you have any! Good on you for being proactive about your health. That's a very brave and smart way to go through life.
Process Day 22: I do not have scoliosis, but I've been following the YWA calendars since January 1 and I find that I always get something out of the YWA practice, no matter what it is supposed to be for and today's practice is no exception. For those without scoliosis I would call this practice "Yoga for the Back." I think this practice can be beneficial for anyone and can help all of us with our posture.
Thank you wholeheartedly, Adriene and Benji! I'm immensely grateful for all you do for all of us! Your efforts will never go unnoticed! Thank you for everything! 🙏🏼💜 Namaste! 💜💫💜
Align day 3 💚 Have amazing day everyone and remember to be grateful to yourselves for showing up 💖 I loved how Adriene said that it's ok whatever your energy level is because mine is super low today and this just felt so good🥺💕💓
Build Day 18! I was surprised and delighted by the twists and forward folds, what a difference lifting the hips makes for finding what feels good. Thank you for new ways to move and love this practice!
I'm here from the Feb 2023 Align calendar - hi!! This is my first time doing this specific practice and OMG I am in love. This practice is so amazing! Also - I've never understood the big deal about Happy Baby until today. It never felt bad in my body, but also not wonderful. Today it felt AMAZING! Thank you Adriene!
There was such care and compassion at the heart of this video - even more pronounced than Adriene’s typically heartfelt approach. Thank you for the safe space you create!
Day three of Align 2023, That felt fabulous! I was thinking as my hands came to my third eye, if this is what a month long practice feels like, imagine how I'll feel in six months! Sending thanks and warmth to everyone on this journey. Adriene you have created something wonderful here!
Loved this practice today so good for our backs, sending love to all who have scoliosis and this helps you feel better❤❤ Thank you Adriene for your love to all.
Finally feels like a human this morning. Been struggling with covid vaccine effects for the past two days and man... This morning I woke up with so much energy and this practice really helps to make it even better!!!
ALIGN 🌟 | February 3, 2023 | Yes, yes, yes! This practice is sooo good for the spine, for stability, flexibility and mobility. Super yummy way to enter this first February weekend! 🙏
BUILD 🔥 | April 18, 2024 | Love this practice, such great stretches and twists and spinal love! I'd happily see this on our monthly calendars every month! 🙏
Thank you, Adriene. I just finished the 2023 30-day yoga challenge, and it was so wonderful to have the calendar for February to keep going. Iso appreciate everything you offer. Your yoga has really helped me heal. In one short month, I have already got my strength back, and I feel so much healthier!
For the ALIGN February 2023 this felt great! With what I've been doing following your steps, I am feeling stronger, just have to work at my central nervous systems on my right side to middle. Thank you.
That was so nice on my spine. 😌 I have Fibromyalgia, and a lot of the pain it causes goes to my spine. So this yoga practice was just delicious for my spine. Thank you so much Adriene, I love you & your yoga practices, you make everyday wonderful. See you again tomorrow, Namaste. 🙏🧡
I just lost my health insurance and my scoliosis is getting worse, my doctor recommended I start watching your videos and it has been life-changing. Thank you so much!
What a great stretch throughout my whole body. I never realize how much I am clinching my body until I feel the stretch and how much I need to open up. Thank you.
This one was perfect for today after having to spend the last three nights on a couch. So healing. Thank you Adriene, and congratulations on reaching ten million life changing connections
Thank you for this beautiful practice Adriene. I have moved on to 30 days of Yoga practice -Align after doing Center for 30 days in January 2023. See you on the mat. Janet from Australia😊💜🙏
I've been trying everything for my scoliosis, I can't even do child's pose without pain...and was told that I can't do yoga. Imagine my joy at finding your video, thank you very much. For those that would like to know, I find immediate relief when I do the 4 min scoliosis video from Austin Goh here on UA-cam. Thanks again Adriene, I appreciate it so much. Your fun manner is delightful
I don't know who told you that you cannot do yoga, but listen to your own body! I had TWO STEEL RODS installed into my spine when I was 14 years old for severe scoliosis (back in 1988). I am 45 years old now and I do yoga and Cross Fit regularly, with my doctor's blessing! Activity and building strength is what keeps the pain away!
I think this day 18 of RESPECT is good for all spines. Having suffered badly with back pain in the past caused by not taking care, I am fortunate not to have a serious condition. Since discovering you Adriene 2 years ago I have been totally back pain free. All your practices have respect for the spine and build strength. Thank you for your love and kindness 🤗🙏💞
omg I m so loving Benji and all his actions / movement. more active than usual, esp his tongue sticking out and how his ears perks when Adrienne sings ;) ;P ;) lovely! giggling and really put a smile to my face even tho I know this week will be nitemare (once again with new directives from work and gov advisory as SG has bigger jumps in covid nrs) so thank you and grateful for all the love and support given :) Namaste to all practising. And yes all part of process. BREATHE!
Best one yet. I have moderate to severe scoliosis. Thoracic curve 48 degrees and lumbar curve 38 degrees, si joint dysfunction in left leg and piriformis syndrome in right leg. She has strengthened me through the process via UA-cam and my pain levels have significantly dropped every time I am consistent. I sincerely thank you.
I found out about my scoliosis when i was 14 and with time the pain got worse. When i was 17 i started calisthenics and jogging and at age 19 discovered yoga for myself. I can guarantee you, that if you start moving your body in healthy ways you will get healthier and most likely reduce your pain.🙏
Thank you so much for this session! I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 13 and by 15 I had spinal corrective surgery! I'm now 28 and can do pretty much everything. Yoga has deffo helped me to connect with my body and mind as well as learn how to move my body in ways to help me throughout my daily life. Thank you Adrienne, for everything you do
Still as perfect as always from seeing my previous comments. I added this to my 🧘🏾♀️strengthening faves🌟, soooo good , deep stretches are just👌🏾👌🏾😌 for Build Day 18:04:24✅ Always love the downward dog pose, i stayed with it for the stretch impact and I saw my neighbour's cute cat just strolled in and stared at me😻😀😂....i just smiled back. I wish I could "like" this video every time I practice with it and it benefits me and my back pain. Thank you, Adriene, and team for making this world a better place.
Hi Adriene! I have been doing one of your practices each night for the past month, and it has been so helpful in my physical, mental and spiritual life. I am a dancer with mild scoliosis, and I have not felt any pain in my back for the last month. Thank you for being amazing and touching so many lives with your gift of teaching. Namaste my friend!
@@mansigupta9285 Hi! I haven’t been in as much pain but I am 6 months pregnant and I saw my chiro last week for an adjustment. Prenatal yoga is helping though!
BUILD | April 18, 2024 | Day 108 for me of yoga! My longest stretch by far. Something about this year just said yoga everyday, and I'm so happy I've stuck with it. My body feels better, I'm breathing deeper, and I have a great community and amazing support in this journey
Build day 18🎉 I really liked this one, managed to do downward dog today thanks to my shoulder feeling better and stronger 💪🏻. Thank you, Adriene, for todays practice. 💖🧘🏼♀️🙏🏻
I wish I could like this video 1 million times. I've struggled with back spasms for years and was only recently diagnosed with scoliosis (didn't realize that's where the issues were stemming from) -- I have been using this practice and other practices from Adriene for the past 2 months and I've never felt more strong, limber, and centered in my life. I'm filled with joy to finally have some way to combat the discomfort I was in. I have a new life ahead of me -- thank you Adriene!!
May 2024 ,it's raining . Im open to all kinds of yoga practice. Adrienne you think of everyone and thier conditions. I gave it a go..even though I don't suffer from scoliosis. My heart goes out to those people that do. It was a good practice today. Thank you 😊
I was very very sceptical about yoga. I have learned that i have scoliosis and they gave me exercises for it. This video helped more than those exercises (well there were a lot of similarities but with yoga it has a continiuum, a circle lets say, you dont pause you are actively doing all of them together) so thanks a lot
This felt lovely for my spine. Thankfully no scoliosis here but I have had other back issues. I appreciate how gentle and self aware Adrian encourages us to be. Working with the body not on it. Blessing for all you BUILD buddies April 2024.
I just started doing yoga & you are my 1st teacher, I've done your 30 day challenge & now I'm on your yoga camp, 56 days in a row of yoga. My body feels great, thank you so much. I'm going to do yoga everyday for a year 😍
That moment when i heard all my cervical spine bones cracking sound "returning" back to their righteous place :))) i just felt so relieved i actually have no word for this feeling but i was delighted and laughed a lot. PS: It's a practice i would have never done if it wasn't on the April Calendar but today i realised that every practice is never reserved every practice is truly and effectively for EVERYONE. THANK YOU Adriene you're the best.
Thank U for including this practice as I revisit (from 1 year ago!) M enjoying the flow as I ALIGN the spine n back Namaste to all practising and May you find ease within
Thank you :) I've had two full length titanium bars in my back for almost half of my life due to severe scoliosis. I try to do exercises of all kinds, but one thing is for sure, stretch!! Yoga & stretching is a must on my book to keep you from the chiropractor more than you need to. I'm blessed that my surgery was a one time surgery & that I can do anything I like to as long as I listen to my body. If I know I'm pushing it too far, give it a break. If I can push myself, go for it! I can lift heavy, do more yoga poses than I ever thought I could do, & more. Life is good! I've had a lot of people come to me asking about my bars & I tell them, it's WORTH IT. Do what you have to do! Don't let fear of surgery win!
After being bed bound for 4 days I found this video and completed the exercises twice and now I’m walking, you’re a gem, real life saver, road to recovery now
Thank you so very much. Oh so good so good. So thankful for this practice. I'm so strong. Can't stop saying thanks. Love you Adriene love my yoga community. Blessings all the way. ❤❤❤❤ Namaste.
Back to this slow workout for the spine, thoughtful and mindful, creating a little power and energy through the whole body, attention to detail so important. A loving sequence Adriene to carefully build strength 🙏 tomorrow’s practice looks interesting for Day 23, I can’t remember that one 🤔😊 see you then 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏻♀️🙏💕
This video was all that I needed. I’m so grateful for today’s practice. Sending love to all of you who join these yoga practices around the world 🌎 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️
Perfect timing Adriene! I have a minor scoliosis and was hoping to do some yoga to help with that after my run today. I also can't believe how big Benji is now!!!!
I have scoliosis since I was a kid and this practice was a good opportunity for. It stretchs the spine very well as well as muscles. It helps to improve the pose and I tend to stand with my back bent and I try to be careful of posture. During the practice I was focused on the spine. It's good for the mind of course and the body. Thank you.
Build, April 18, 2024. I always enjoy finding new ways to stretch by body, strengthening in the process. Once I got over the longer time for some of this month's practice, as well as the more heat generated poses, I noticed how relaxed I was during and after each day's practice. Also how not as strenuous as I thought it would be and unnecessarily making something out of nothing. Enjoying the little self discoveries. 😊💙
Haven't hit the mat since Sunday. Lower Back/possible kidney stone. The session was awesome and addressed my core and lower back. Still have to treat future sessions a little gingerly or until the pain subsides! Thank You!
Hi Adriene, thank you so much for this video (especially) 😘 I got scoliosis in my lower back (right part) since I was born. I am now 50 years old. And I have been doing yoga with this video for about 2 and a half months now. It helped a lot. My severe pain now reduced a lot. Thank you again, lovely Adriene ❤
This was a wonderful practice! Peaceful yet strength-building. It helped to relieve the stiff neck and back I’ve had from working at the computer too much lately (reminder to take more breaks). Thank you!!
I was diagnosed with scoliosis a few years ago when I was 20 or so. I tried keeping up with different kinds of physical activity over the years that would help, but I eventually would get bored with most. I got into yoga about a year and a half ago now, and it's changed everything since, especially when I started following your channel just four months ago. This is perfect! I've learned so much from you, I've gotten so much stronger, and this video in particular just seemed like it was made for me. Thank you so much for everything Adriene!
THE BEST EVER practice for stretching/loving/moving/pushing my sad little spine which wakes me up at night like a bad dream. I just found this practice and believe me ... this is about to become a tri-weekly practice! You are a blessing to us all, Adriene.
Just want you to know how much I appreciate you. You are the reason I keep hitting the mat. I've been following you for years now. You just get better and better. I love your mindset too. You help me with your words of wisdom. Thank you for all you do. Love from Kansas!
I’m feeling so happy! Thank you this has helped me with my pain and yoga is what helps me with my day. My daughter is trying yoga for her P.E. class and thank you Adriene for sharing your videos to help virtual learners. Have a wonderful day everyone!! Namaste 🙏🏽
211/365 of 2021✅ another day I thought about just skipping. Just wanted to go to bed, but : no no... a good thing about habit is that your mind and body don’t want to break it . Thanks Adriene. Thanks everyone 🙏

Thank you.
Thanks to the 641 of you that joined me on my birthday practice today
Yay!! Happy Birthday to you! Hope you had a great day ❤️
That was so nice on my spine. 😌 I have Fibromyalgia, and a lot of the pain it causes goes to my spine. So this yoga practice was just delicious for my spine. Thank you so much Adriene, I love you & your yoga practices, you make everyday wonderful. See you again tomorrow, Namaste. 🙏🧡
Wondering if anyone else's spine makes popping noises throughout the practice 😮 Nothing hurting, and end result is wonderful!
Day 3 Align soooo nice. Hello to all my Center yogi's. Keeping it going and flowing ✌️
today’s practice done on:
* 2/3/23: feels good to stretch and lengthen (and enjoy the sweet sounds of adriene singing ❤). align day 3 ⭐️
Thank you for this beautiful practice Adriene. I have moved on to 30 days of Yoga practice -Align after doing Center for 30 days in January 2023. See you on the mat. Janet from Australia😊💜🙏
Welcome to our monthly calendars. 💜🙏🏼
Hi lore i am combining this yoga with austin goh 4 min scretching too .. i am happy that i am not alone :(
Align day 3💫 Amazing relief for the body and the spine! It felt so gentle and relaxing. Thank you Adriene, namaste🙏❤
Ive been doing this for 2 weeks now. Today I was finally able to do all poses even with my legs risen up 👍 thank you so much my back feels stronger
That was lovely after a stress filled work week. Thank you so much for ALIGN DAY 3. Hello to all of the community members practicing with me :)
omg I m so loving Benji and all his actions / movement. more active than usual, esp his tongue sticking out and how his ears perks when Adrienne sings ;) ;P ;) lovely! giggling and really put a smile to my face even tho I know this week will be nitemare (once again with new directives from work and gov advisory as SG has bigger jumps in covid nrs) so thank you and grateful for all the love and support given :) Namaste to all practising. And yes all part of process. BREATHE!
This lovely practice for Day 8 of Build, so good for my spine and whole body, my arms too ... real therapy ! See you tomorrow on the mat 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏻♀️🙏💞
Good morning, Gill! x
Good morning Liz ! (feeling tired this morning 😐 arthritis not helping my yoga) so it’s so good to see you. Hope all is well with you 🤞 ? 🧘🏼♀️🙏
Once the practise finished, I start to cry. Thanks for helping my body reduce its pain. Love, Samia.
Build 2024
This is really a helpful one for scoliosis suffers or for back pain issues my yogi lovelies.... I love the flow and thanks to all you build buddies or recent practice buddies and everyone's uplifting comments here in this awesome community... it's been a lovely push/pick me up for me to keep going, so👍🏾❤🤗 thank you all and i wish you a beautiful day☀️🌱🪻🌼🌻☀️ from sunny chilly UK. See you 2moro...Namaste🌻☮️💗🙏🏾
Thank you so much ❤
A wonderful practice that I hadn't come across before - will definitely be repeating. Namaste Adriene, Benji and fellow yogis 😍
I wish I could "like" this video every time I practice with it and it benefits me and my back pain. Thank you, Adriene, and team for making this world a better place.
“Smell your knees “ 😂 second best part of this practice - the first was Benji’s ears perking up when Adriene was singing 🥰
Hello to the Center crew continuing on everywhere around the world today! Namaste, keep up the great work!
Surprise for me today! First time doing this one (I think!) and didn’t know how much I needed it. Todays blessing is you Adriene. 🙏🏻😊
I'm a little tender from yesterday's exercise, so something a bit more sedate was exactly what I needed. Day 415 of the current run.
What a great yoga session. It made my body so relaxed that I'm about to fall asleep on the floor 😅.
3rd February 2023. "Align"
Thank you Adriene for helping with my scoliosis today
Did 30 days of yoga Center 2023 and just wanted to keep going. Happy to have this playlist to continue the journey. Thank you Adriene
Day 3 of the February calendar done. I don’t have scoliosis but I felt like I needed that. Thank you
May 2024 ,it's raining .
I'm going to do yoga everyday for a year 😍
Amazing! Hope you keep up your yoga journey. :) I'm going on over 10 years!
Dashworthy Yoga with Heather oh wow that is amazing 😍
That moment when i heard all my cervical spine bones cracking sound "returning" back to their righteous place :))) i just felt so relieved i actually have no word for this feeling but i was delighted and laughed a lot.
PS: It's a practice i would have never done if it wasn't on the April Calendar but today i realised that every practice is never reserved every practice is truly and effectively for EVERYONE.
THANK YOU Adriene you're the best.
Me too!
Really wishing for a Yoga for Scoliosis part 2!!! ❤❤
Thank U for including this practice as I revisit (from 1 year ago!)
M enjoying the flow as I ALIGN the spine n back
Namaste to all practising and May you find ease within
Thank you :)
I've had two full length titanium bars in my back for almost half of my life due to severe scoliosis.
After being bed bound for 4 days I found this video and completed the exercises twice and now I’m walking, you’re a gem, real life saver, road to recovery now
Get outta here. I don't believe you. Do you have anyone in your life who cares about you???
I rewatched the intro a couple of times just because of how adorable Benji is 🥺
Thank you so very much.
Seriously! What a cutie
Running is probably not the best thing to do if you have a minor scoliosis.
@@judithtobin2429 why?
Just discovered this today. I have scoliosis and definitely needed this in my life. I have added this to my collection
25 lovely, calming minutes and my spine is pain free and so relaxed I could forget that I have one :) thanks to you Adrienne 💕
did this once and for the rest of the day it was so easy to stand up straight and i had no pain
Thank you.
Thanks Adriene. Did practise alongside with my partner today. Invited him along as he has mild scoliosis.
Day 22 Process! Wonderful practice today! I enjoyed every bit of it and it seemed very short!namaste❤
Thank You!
Thank you Thank you Thank you words cannot express how appreciative I am for this video . Sending you blessings Adriene and all who watch.
Well done Adriene! ❤️
PLEASE DO MORE OF THIS, I suffer from scoliosis and this was reallyyyyyy good! please do more videos of this please. love xx
Align Day 3, 33 days in a row ❤️ loved how much better my back felt after this!
I’m feeling so happy! Thank you this has helped me with my pain and yoga is what helps me with my day. My daughter is trying yoga for her P.E. class and thank you Adriene for sharing your videos to help virtual learners. Have a wonderful day everyone!! Namaste 🙏🏽
Just the ticket. And Benji looking so very dashing at the start!
211/365 of 2021✅ another day I thought about just skipping. Just wanted to go to bed, but : no no... a good thing about habit is that your mind and body don’t want to break it . Thanks Adriene. Thanks everyone 🙏
Love your Yoga practices. They are so convenient, straight forward, and easy to follow your voice. Thank you, Adrienne!
