Aww, you as well kind stranger! Have a wonderful day, day after day 😍💖🥰
Thanks for the positive comment, may you have a great day as well
You too homie.
Thanks 😊
You as well
I'm in tears... I feel so good and so much better physically and emotionally after doing this everyday for a week. I can't believe I waited until the age of 48 to start Yoga
Same thoughts - am 53))
I am 45, and it is my first month of Yoga too! Im loving it, hope you are too
Shoot, I am trying this today for the first time and I'm almost 57. I can thank or blame my Apple watch for giving me a 20 minute yoga challenge. Apparently, today is International Yoga Day.
I’m going to start too 😃
Same here feeling so
Happy and in good mood 😉
I've followed this video 33 mornings in a row, and it still cracks me up at the end when Adriene says, "That was just a simple sequence to get us started." I'm 52. It has definitely not gotten "simple" for me yet, but it's so gratifying to witness myself becoming stronger, slimmer, and more flexible each day. I'm so grateful for this video. Thank you, Adriene!
I totally get you! At 53, those simple sequences are a bit challenging. Been looking to regain flexibility and her flows seems to be the most relaxed and patient for inflexible me lol.
I’m 51 and just getting started too. Simple it is not but I’m proud of myself for trying and laughing at myself vs. getting discouraged.
I'm 62 and these simple positions have made me feel like I'm 92!. Lovin' it, sticking with it, thank you Adriene.
please check my channel 🥺✨ I'm uploading relaxation musics and yoga

I can definitely use this..thank you

I am a 73 year old survivor of one week of this video! I was ridiculous in the beginning but day by day it is getting “easier” and I am feeling so very much better and proud of myself. Thank you for your lovely and understanding video. Namaste!
Hello there.. congrats on making it to a week. Today is my day 1. Just getting over a few surgeries and wanted to be in better shape. Let me know how your journey is going. ❤
@@thenanouzz This is magic! I added Adriene’s other beginner video, too, one in morning and the other in the evening. It was pretty tough in the beginning, but today the twenty minutes was over in no time. And some of my poses are actually looking slightly yoga-esque! Good luck to you and I promise, it will get easier and funner and you will feel so much better. Namaste.
Can you tell me what other video you do in the evening? Thank you for the encouragement. Day 2 today. ❤
@@thenanouzz I do Adriene’s Yoga for Beginners and Yoga for Complete Beginners. Both are about 20 minutes long. And easy to follow and just wonderful! For when you need a yoga break!
Awesome. Please how can I save the video for further practice
I'm suffering with really bad anxiety right now, and your videos are the only thing keeping me sane.
THANK YOU
You can do it!
I was too, and found that taking magnesium really helped! Best to take it in a powder form, and mix a spoon in with a glass of water. Try it, it may just do the trick x
I actually use magnesium in the powder too like Alexandra T said, as well as many other tricks for anxiety, but yoga does really help me. Stick with it, I've suffered from anxiety almost all my life, it's definitely not easy but it can be beaten, you can do it!
I have anxiety also which often cause panic attacks .sending you ❤ I had a bad one last night that’s why I’m here.
Same here I have a bad anixety 😭😭
I am 72 and this seems to be one of the best beginner yoga videos that I have seen. Your comments about not worrying about what my pose looks gives me the confidence that as I do this I will eventually get comfortable and begin to do these poses easily.

16, going on 17. I have some unhealthy habits and so I figured exercising would be a good habit to get into and just to better myself as a person. My dad suggested yoga. This was the first video that popped up and I love it, I think this is really going to help. Thank you!
17 year old here! It's awesome that you're trying to get into healthy habits. This channel makes a lot of really good yoga videos and it helps me a lot w my mental health. Good luck with your journey, don't put too much pressure on yourself, you got this

Keep going taramoon! You got this!! As a 50-yr old, I wish I had gotten started younger. Just do it, you'll be thankful later... there is no down side to yoga :)
I once did Yoga with Adriene every day for a year. It changed my life. But I 'fell off the mat,' as they say, and that changed my life too, but not so well. Returning to practicing with Adriene feels like hanging out with a sweet friend I'd somehow lost touch with. Showing up really is the hardest part, but once you do, amazing things happen. Namaste, y'all.
oh i really feel that. I'm just returning from a loooong break and I'm happy to practice again. My body really needs it :D
completely let myself go after years of depression and just basically losing myself, so i decided to try out something positive. Day 1- complete 🥳💗
Edit: thank you so much for the love guys🥺 I truly didn’t expect so much encouragement from you all! I gave up a few times, but I’m still going at it!💪🏾

I am a recovering heroin addict. Will be clean on June 10th exactly one year. This has helped bring me to a new peace of mind as I start dealing with the stresses of the real world. When you are an addict all you can care about is drugs so when you finally get clean the stress the real world has to offer can be quite over whelming. Thank you for this video it's been very helpful in my recovery of mind, body and soul🙂
Jasmine Bond good luck on your ongoing journey! 💕
Hi Jasmine, I hope you are holding on and excited about tomorrow, amazing badge to have ;) I wanted to tell you about two tools I found incredibly effective, one is tapping technique (many simple instructions on youtube) which is 2-4 minutes powerful amazing 'switch'. When I first started, it was gentle relief, but the longer I did it, the stronger the feel of bliss was. Also, if you know your painful triggers, like memories of trauma or moments that made you take wrong turn, this will help you rewire your brain to detach pain and distress from these past events, extremely powerful and works miracles, like years of therapy in few session at home and for free. Great for sudden anxiety and cravings too.
Second is subliminal programming, I like work of Thomas Hall and I also use free download from mindofwinner.com where in very easy way you can select or create your own msgs that pops on your screen while you work or watch something.
Good luck!
Jasmine Bond Congrats!!
Congrats for your one year drug free
Jasmine Bond Hope you gain strength each day.
Hey everyone! I am still here after 5 months of practice ever day! My twist is pretty good, my upper thigh almost parallel to earth, my posture is much better, I feel great and mostly having fun. It is still a bit of a challenge but I am loving it . Hang in there! Adriene, Thank you so much for your encouragement and love. Namaste
This was my first ever yoga lesson 5 years ago. I practiced this particular flow every morning for weeks and it was the first time I ever felt safe and at home in my body. I have fallen away from yoga the last two years, and today I decided to come back to this video. Returning to this space felt like coming home to myself. It felt so good I cried. Thank you Adriene💗🌸
I am 34 diagnosed with bad prognosis AML Leukemia. Six rounds of chemotherapy and this was the best 20 minutes of exercise I have had in nine months. Thank you.

I've been doing this session every morning for 5 weeks and I feel amazing. It was really hard at first, I almost passed out trying to do my first downward dog! Now it's my favorite pose. I've lost 10 lbs and my arthritis is improved. I am so much stronger and have flexibility back - I can not only touch my toes (something I hadn't been able to do for 10 years) but get my hands flat now! Thank you so much Adriene - I think you have saved my life. Kate, Brighton, UK.
I just tried this for the first time and my back felt so heavy and downward dog just didn't happen! I am hoping it will get easier - well done you! x
@@hollyspengler5159 Hi, don't give up! Keep at it, take your time, if it hurts, stop and rest. I thought I'd never be able to do a downward dog that didn't look like a tortoise... I'm finally getting there 3 months later, it's so worth it though. good luck! x

Yoga also helps so much with calming your thoughts and I've found it helps with easing you into meditation too, if you find it hard meditating at anytime 😊. I don't want people to forget that yoga isn't just some workout that you do in a gym, there also a spiritual side to its practice as well. The title of her video is a bit misleading to be honest. As much as I'm sure she's lovely teacher 😊
Hi Adrienne, I tried one of your videos before and I couldn't do it and gave up for awhile. I'm 63 and have been practicing Qigong and that has helped get me more energy and now I want to do Yoga. Daniels Mark Whoo! Awesome!!!!!
Awesome! I love meditation I'm on my six month. I suggest you listen to binarial beats when you meditate. Makes your brainwaves relax a lot and is very beneficial to the process. Good luck!
Hi Daniels Mark, I was wondering if you have found meditation and yoga helpful? My doctor recommended both and I would be interested in your perspective
Gorhob Perkins HI. I don't know if Daniels replied to you, but i can guarantee that both yoga and/or meditation are verry powerfull ''techniques'' to find a deeper snese of self, awareness and inner peace, and of course many many more things which can not be explained, but you just have to try for yourself. Peace.
MrJoey5 Thanks Mr Joey for taking the time to reply, I will give them a try
I never thought about doing yoga but i suffer from bad anxiety so i thought id give it a shot to see if it helps me calm down and it worked! only down side is i am the most inflexible person on earth

Yes you are right Adriene, the hardest part can be getting to the mat. Isn't it fascinating how we resist the things we know are good for us? What is this about? There must be a chemical in the brain and a way of seeing things that produces this resistance. Today though I just said to myself, stop wasting time thinking about it and get on with it and that was easy, so maybe I've got this resistance thing nailed, for today anyway😂🙏Thanks again.

Thank you so much! I am new to the truck driving world. I cannot explain what my body has gone through driving 18 wheelers in just a month and a 1/2. The vibrations alone in the truck are intense. The position I sit in for hours and hours, and not to mention the food that is available. You helped me make the first step into fighting the evolution of a trucker. I am inspiring to be that yogi trucker. The one who gets out at truck stops and does yoga or performs it in an empty trailer when I have one, instead of sitting longer, watching TV or cramming heart attack burgers down my throat. The career I chose is an easy way to fall away from what I am which is one with earth. I live in chaos and traffic and busy busy hurry hurry. So I am giving you great gratitude for sharing such a warm and loving exercise and way of life, way of connection with the universe. I subscribed and shall continue to view your wonderful work. 💜🙏🏼

My depression has kept me in bed a lot, which has caused a lot of pain and tension in my shoulders. I thought this might help me alleviate that, and get my blood flowing to help my brain and body reconnect. This was perfect. The right amount of strengthening burn without pain. I've been doing this video for over a year; started as a jump-off point in dealing with my depression, and now it starts my productive (or not, lol) day. A trainer used to tell me (in my teens) that I was the least flexible person she knew. After a year, I can finally pedal my feet so EACH HEEL can touch the floor during downward dog! I have never been able to do that before, so THANK YOU! Maybe this feat will give me the confidence to continue and watch/work out to more challenging videos on this channel. THANKS SO MUCH, ADRIENE!
This whole practice just taught me how bad my posture is.
You and me both.

I practiced Yoga with Adriene quite a lot (daily actually) during the lockdowns, but also, like others, fell off the wagon sometime since, and this week felt the need to get back into doing 'some yoga'. Foolishly I thought I'd try something new so downloaded the free trial of the 'downward dog' app thing. I honestly set it to the absolute beginners restorative session, but it exacerbated all the aches and tension I felt in my back, neck and shoulders. Not to mention the stiffness in my knees and hips. It didn't explain anything about how to get into a pose, or what to be thinking about to improve your posture whilst you're in it. I hurt for the next few days, and then returned to this, my old favourite: Yoga for complete beginners (with Adriene). Sometimes it makes sense to go with the best (for me this feels good) and luckily I know where to come to find it. So much gratitude and love x

Happy to be here

Wow! That was amazing! My first experience with yoga and the 20 minutes just flew by. I feel amazing now and really refreshed! I will be coming back to watch this and try it for a week and go from there! :)
+Chloe Mills Wonderful! Awesome Chloe. Keep goinggg!
+Chloe Mills Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else is searching for wants to uncover yoga workout programs try Jadonite Yoga Fitness Buddy (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my neighbor got great success with it.
Took the words right out of my mouth. First time I've ever tried yoga and the 20 minutes flew by and I feel great! Thank you!
+Chloe Mills Same. I wish it was tomorrow already!

When the coronavirus forces you to stay inside and you decide you might as well start practicing yoga
This is exactly what I am doing 😂😂😂
Was it your first time ?
Exactly

Hi Adrienne! 63 year old here again! I'm pretty sure today is my 5th day of practicing this video with you. I keep noticing how there are things I missed hearing or seeing you do and making baby steps progress each day! Thank you, Adrienne!

I did this routine everyday when I was about 11 or 12, figured it was time I got back into the swing of things and figured this video was the perfect way to start again. Happy to see it's still up.
I hv never done yoga before and this lady is both inspiring and patient. She is both realistic and NON-JUDGMENTAL with her body moves and stance.
I’m sharing her with all my friends!
Same!!! Absolutely love this video and could listen to her voice all day. She's so good at explaining the positions too

I’m having a lot of anxiety due to this virus but the yoga is helping. Bonus: it helps with my back pain too.
sniffitsblog YES GIRL. Yoga is LIFE when it comes to helping with anxiety and back pain. I have anxiety bad, as well as a spinal issue due to a car wreck years ago. Yoga is LIFE when it comes to pain.
. Being anxious will not change the fact there is a pandemic.
You can sing in the rain or you can hide from the rain. Fact is, it's raining. Be kind, remain calm.We are all in this together.
Me too, caterpillar pose helps with my lower back pain so much
It is very alleviating for back pain. I'm so glad I found this channel
Me too. Hang on on there.
I am 65 and have fallen seven times in as many months.😐😞🫤. I was previously very active but something happened in January.🤷🏻♀️😳. My sense of balance was as if someone threw ‘ an off switch’. Anyway, today I was inspired to try yoga for the first ever time. I was able to do most of this class, but the walking the feet together at the end was impossible.😂. But this was my first time. You are so graceful and your voice is so soothing that I will do this same class until I get a little balance back. Thank you SO much for making this available to us who cannot make it to an actual yoga class. ✨🙌😬💖. You are a blessing to us. See you all tomorrow.

Thankyou so much for your gentle teaching the first time in many years doing any kind of movement .. feeling empowered...pleased with myself

This video workout is wonderful. It starts exactly where a beginner needs to be and explains so much of what is needed to do yoga moves well. I am coming back from a significant injury and this is just what I wanted and needed to make a serious start in yoga. I looked at several other "beginner" videos before I found this one by Adrienne, and none of the others was even doable. This video is definitely going to improve my overall flexibility, mobility and strength over time. I am looking forward to having done this so many times that I am ready to move up a level, but for now this is perfection and I plan to do it regularly. Highly recommend it.
The wonderful thing is, Adriene has many, many videos that are suitable for complete beginners. She’s been posting consistently for 10 years! So you will be able to have a some variety while you explore and extend where your body and mind are right now, and going forward. Welcome, and all the best!
Never done Yoga before. I am a very large lady and I turn 50 this year. I found that challenging but I enjoyed. Will favourite it and be back to do it again tomorrow.
Gonna start this for my anxiety just had knee surgery but when I'm healed gonna give it a try wish me luck just turned 65 first time and first surgery
Hey, i watched this and did the first half of the video. I'm 56 and disabled with some limited mobility. Even just doing a few minutes per day is a start. Best wishes to you!
@@kathydoucette1381 Wishing you the best recovery. I feel for you with anxiety, I know how devastating it can be. I hope you decide to do the yoga, I'm going to try also.
@@yathinkinc Good for you!
Thank you Caroline!! That's encouraging ☺️
Yesterday, my wife and myself started with this video. Our first Yoga class. Just wanted to let you know. Thank you.
Beautiful! Stick with it- keep returning to it. Notice how it unfolds and enjoy!
I’ve been practicing yoga for 20 years. Had to take a bit of a break but so happy to be back at it. Thank you so much Adrienne.
Hi Adriene. Namaste. I have been doing yoga every week for 1 year and 2 weeks now. I have been building up my arm muscles in that time especially for doing downward facing dog and plank poses and I’m slowly learning how to master the yoga poses. Still have got a long way to go. I have learnt quite a lot about yoga over the past year and love love love yoga. Quite a lot of hard work. I watch your beginners video as well as your other videos to learn the basics and improve on them before learning and doing other poses. I am also getting better at doing the lion’s breath and pigeon pose as well. I have been going to yoga classes for a few months now.
i've always known that i carry a lot of stress in my body, but i didn't know just how much until i did this and could not stop crying -- thank you adrienne, body awareness is so important
b r e a t h e love
I totally agree! I've been wanting to try yoga ... maybe for years now. The other day something finally just clicked. I got online, searched and this was one of the first I found that looked like it might be gentle enough for me.
It great that you had such a profound experience! Congrats!
Me too, first time today. beeing so aware is kind of freeing and uncomfortable,
Gonna try doing it for a week and see how it goes
SAME!!!!!
I love adriennne!
I'm so overweight and worried about hurting myself when I try things, this was exactly the beginning I needed thank you. I will definitely be returning to this video.
Thank you 🧡
😊👍👍😻💐
good job, hope its going well for you
But how to get up off the floor again lol
@@lynnem3259 some people might be overweight and still be active.
After a few years hiatus I felt ready to do yoga again. I first tried a very frustrating asana rebel practice, ehich left me in a bad mood. Then I remembered this video, and I literally cried tears of joy during this practice. I love how accepting and calm the atmosphere is.
I completed a week total of doing this video!🎉 7 days back to back and let me tell you I feel great and excited about continuing my yoga journey. I hope everyone else can have that feeling too and just know that it's okay if somethings are hard when you start out, it'll get easier the more you practice.
Anyone here in 2021 wanting to do yoga while being stuck at home during the pandemic?🧘🏽♀️
Right here!
Oh yeah!
👋
Me!!! :D
Yes
She's like the Bob Ross of yoga.
Yeah she is!! 🥰
Oh I loved Bob Ross - what a loss to the world, such a real gentle man - have one of his books - must get back to painting with plenty of ‘happy accidents’!
im looking for the gene simmons of yoga to pump me up any suggestions?
And that's a really good thing!
no
First time I've EVER done Yoga, been struggling a lot recently with mental health. Have lost 70lb since April and wanted to expand my range of experiences with my body, so tried this out. Got a lil' emotional at the end when you said the biggest thing is just showing up, and I've been trying to just show up all year ya' know? It's really hard learning to become more comfortable with your body and love yourself better. Definitely hope to grow through this experience.
No one ever explained the poses as well as this. Great start. I’ll be doing this once a day for the next week x
Such a strong calming energy and present this girl has👌
I'm an instant fan
Amit G agreed and her voice is soothing
Lov!ingL!fe that's what you get when you have a yoga expert teach you :)
Agreed, her videos have a lot of positive energy.
You have such a lovely, calming voice. Thank you for producing this simple video for true beginners!
Back to Adrienne after a knee injury and what I find so helpful that I originally loved is her gift of allowing us to be imperfect as we learn to adjust, strengthen, lengthen and BE with our bodies wherever they are at the moment. That is the ❤ of a true teacher. Thank you.

This popped up on my feed and I clicked it. 4/18/2024. I suffer from chronic back pain and have had 2 surgeries. I will be trying this but have to do it on my bed. There is no way I could sit on a floor right now. I hope it helps me with pain and anxiety. Thank you.

I really liked her session. Really teaching the "soul/spirit " part of it.
***** So glad Julie! Namaste.
+Yoga With Adriene. Hi Adriene. Myself included, I see a few people writing that they began or keep up with yoga partially to help with anxiety. I've been following several of your yoga videos and would love to request a video that is specific to helping with anxiety.....particularly the kind of anxiety that cause tightness in the body, such as our chest, and anxiety that can lead to shortness of breath or holding the breath all together. Thank you!
Hello pretty, I was just going through commne when I saw your profile and that what attracted me to write you. I would love to get to know you if possible. I will be glad to hear from you 🙂

This is my first attempt at yoga, at 56 I feel my mind and body need to relax as I am suffering from high-stress levels and depression. Thanks, Adrienne for this workout to start me on my road to a better me.
Thank you Adriene! You are just awesome! I have been doing yoga with you sporadically over the years and this year I did the 30day center challenge, I started to find myself more. For some reason, this video showed up today on my feed and I decided to try it, you’re right to good to return to basics. I feel like all my muscles are waking up again.

Thank you .. good start for me
LOL!!!
b dee hahahah that was too funny. Thanks for the belly laugh. 😝😝
I felt like vomiting in 13 mins in I dont know why I know iam not fit at all
Lol
Who else just realised Yoga is more difficult than it looks after finishing this ?
That's how is seems at the start...trust me...take your time...do what you can do now...stick with it and you will surprise yourself. Some days are better than others...that's not the point...do it for you and you'll benefit no matter what!
I find it easier than other sports
Me, but after you try many times you get accustomed to it and you learn to relax more and enjoy the exercises.
You will all get there! Remember it's a journey so enjoy every moment! 💗
Absolutely knew it was difficult which is why I searched for beginner yoga.
I never used to like yoga classes …. until now, Healthy aging needs safe, strengthening and stretching and balance. Beautiful guidance. Thanks you. Namaste.

This is the first yoga video I’ve done where someone explains it like this. This makes me want to continue learning and practicing where other videos have left me uninspired and overwhelmed making me not want to continue. Thank you for this
Hi everyone. I'm a beginner, never done yoga before. Happy 2020 everyone.
Nokubonga Vundla your not alone my journey in yoga starts this year to.
Same here. Mom died suddenly one year ago today and I fell into alcohol abuse and comfort eating...gained 30 lbs and lay in bed day after day. She wouldn’t want me to fall apart...so here I am. I am new to yoga...good luck to us all!
Update: 2 months later and I feel amazing, flexible and can tackle anything plus I lost weight. Yoga has made me make better decisions in my life.
Nokubonga Vundla Hey thanks for the update!
@@mgal6234 damn sorry you went through all that. good luck!
I felt so recharged after doing this for the first time today. I've had problems with depression and social anxiety for most of my life, and while my medication keeps the anxiety largely at bay, it also trims off the edges of my feelings, both the negative ones and the positive. But after following this video today I felt happy and peaceful and relaxed for the first time in literally years. Thank you so much.
I found myself crying half way through this workout, and I don't know why, but it was a good thing.
You are the first vid I clicked on and YOU did NOT disappoint. The movements were so ez and your voice was so calming. Thanks for the pick me up this am. ❤
Back again and thank you as I finish day 2 of my lenten yoga practice staying with a beginner's mind for 40 days here on the mat and through the day. Happy Thursday 🙏
i swear i need a pre - beginners yoga. i nearly died 5 min in. pray for me somebody...
keep trying!!! I was the same and it genuinely improves a lil more each day xox
Just keep practicing what you're currently capable of, and with time it will be so easy you will be begging for something more advanced!
😂 keep going

You make yoga so inviting. I just retired from a desk & traveling job and everything is tight. These stretches and poses are just what I need!
Thank you. This is my first time doing yoga so I appreciate your patient approach. I will repeat all the Yoga for Complete Beginners videos for one week each, and if I become committed I will take it to the next level! Namaste.
