Hey everyone! Sorry for the delay in videos lately, moving house due to an unforeseen change in circumstances and that has been eating the bulk of time! I also will blame this for the editing mistake at 30:34ish in which I put some clips in the wrong order, likely other mistakes throughout too that I simply didn't notice yet! But isn't that what makes It a charming Lathrix video anyway? This video was easily one of the most time consuming playthroughs on the channel to date due to just how many worlds there are capable of being terraformed in Stellaris in one way or another, along with the AI changes making the AI far more formidable with the new tech buffs and mid game scaling! Was super fun to record this one, I really hope you all enjoy! :D
Make sure you also make time for you. We'll wait a little longer for videos if it means preserving your sanity to continue making videos in the future 😁
So no time to watch yet but just to ease your mind. You never had any sanity to beginn with so everything is still fine. You survived until now and you will keep on doing so.
"Pure bliss. Absolute harmony. Perfected beauty. Do you hear the silence? That is the sound of beauty." As my father spoke those words to me, I very well heard the grumbling of the excavators in the mines kilometers below us, the faint noise of the industrial complex at the horizon and the roaring of the freighters at the spaceport where we landed earlier. But I know what he meant. No organic matter soiled the ground we stood upon. In fact no soil tainted and hid the intricate rock of this now liberated world. This planet was the last one to complete its terraforming process in the galaxy. Clearing the biological trash which infested the world for aeons returned the world to its pure and original state. The fresh radiation did wonders to my father's deteriorating health. After a lifetime in the navy he himself saw the end of many intragalactic and even intergalactic threats to our empire's dream. The monumental task which our forefathers started was finally completed by his and my generations. The sound of a starting freighter interrupted my thoughts. It shipped the last remnants of the biological parasites to processing and remineralization. Was it possible that biological 'life' could emerge anew somewhere, somewhen and threaten our peace? My gaze wandered across the landscape and my mind was put to ease. The geometric shapes and colours of the minerals surrounding us were of a beauty not replicable by the most talented artists. Future generations won't understand the struggle we went through to cleanse and restore the roc*ing entirety of the galaxy. They won't have to experience the filth and corruption that surrounded us most of our lifetime. "And that's a good thing." I didn't immediately realize that I spoke those words out aloud. But looking at my father I could tell that he knew exactly what was going on in my mind. "And that's a good thing", he repeated before he started moving again, implying that we should continue our journey through this new old landscape. Which was now finally again what it always should have been. Pure, beautiful and silent.
31:30 Yeah that happens because the Parades will chose the planet with the most population that doesn't already have a leviathan trophy on it. FOOD had like 1/4 of your entire empire's population on it as I believe the game doesn't take population status into account when making that decision.
I like to think it's his empire showcasing their power to the organics they have under their control, each parade pushes down the morale of the organics and crushes their will, any desire to rebel will be ground to dust.
I have to say, I love the volume of content you put out man. Other streamers would make a playthrough like this into a 40 episode melodrama that takes months. Appreciate you Lath
Didn't even think about the combination of ruthless industrialist and the tomb world origin! You are brilliant and your creativity in narrative building is why this has become by far my favourite Stellaris channel. Loved the video and good luck on the move! And you ate all the people you conquered! You mad lad!
Hey Lath, just popping up with this: you are my favorite Stellaris gameplay content creator. Eventhough im not up to your level(grand admiral), me and my brother can watch you over and over and never get bored. We even put your species build on our games just to see what the AI does with it 😂. Much love from Puerto Rico, youre awesome.
the way his battleship armada just ZAPS the prethoryn ships at 1:20:45 and onwards reminds me of emperor palpatine's force lightning. every time he begins the engagement i shout in my head "UNLIMITED POWER!" and watch as the power of the enemy fleet goes from 4.1 million to 2.6 instantly
It really is impressive how you, yes YOU Lathrix are able to make whole playthrough in 1,5 hrs! I still remember how me and my friends were really just scheduling like 6whole-day sessions and not even finishing it! Thank you for your content!
Seeing you so ruthlessly exploit the galaxy and turn it into a husk truly reminds me of how I originally fell in love with your videos. Game on, Lathrix! You're truly an inspiration!
Love the Stellaris full playthroughs. I played alot of C&C 2 Red Alert back in the day, but I don't have the patience to learn such a complicated interconnected economy like this. Keep it up, you mad genius!
It's always great to see another Stellaris playthrough from you! Hopefully the Lithoid overlords at UA-cam bless this video to not be the quiet tomb that you made the galaxy...
I have waited thousands of years for this Lathy, your stellaris playthroughs are the most incredible most professional videos ever. I hope to one day watch them all.
like always thank you for your time and effort making these it's like a movie documentary of some sci fi fantasy, your commentary, although understandable in slowly decreasing your sanity is always on point making the game more interesting to watch
😄 i tune into your stellaris vids often enough I love them but they are quite big so i sometimes forget about them and i occasionally feel lost when i see certain aspects of the game
Another awesome Stellaris video! Quick tip for anyone quickly expanding like Lath did in this video be very careful queuing up Starbase constructions. The influence penalty for skipping systems does not recalculate after the first base is built. For instance at 12:20 he queues up three systems to build, the first one costing 52, the second 105, the third 157. You would assume that once the first system was build the second system would go back down to costing 52 but it does NOT. I'm assuming it's a bug. Those 3 systems ended up costing 314 influence when they would have only cost 156 if they weren't queued.
It’s always interesting to see other peoples play styles. I almost always tech rush with alloy rushing being my secondary goal. Watching this makes me want to try an adapted tech rush where I try to convert every planet to a tomb world and have some industrial districts on all of my worlds
I rarely finish one of these videos, just due to my attention span, but god I get so inspired by every build/playthrough you do. Thank you for creating such great content!
I absolutely love your videos man. Been watching for over 6 maybe 7 years and you have definitely always been one of my favorites on the platform. Just wanted to help you in the algorithm and let you know you have been a wonderful part of many of our lives. Keep up the great work man!
I'm going to be honest, if I had the patience to make it to this point in the playthrough, I would have just continued until every system also had a hyper relay, but I understand wanting to be done when the primary goal of the playthrough had been accomplished.
Hey, if you havent already found out. The events like the stellar devourer always go to your most populous planet with the exception that there has been a parade in the last 50 years. If so the parade will take place on the next most populated planet. Thats why it was always Food for you
my brother in christ, being one of the few people in the stellaris community who seems to finish a lot of games, I congratulate you for this stellar achievement.
The stuff in Tiyun Ort, at about 1:06:00, is the meat of dev diary #269 so it is obviously intended for that planet of corpses to be there. It's the Tiyanki Corpse Mound. The more you know!
Genuinely love these long videos, I know they were made a few years ago but I keep seeing vids of yours that are 1-2 hours long (and still being part 1 of a series) and it’s been both fun to watch and teaching me stuff I didn’t know.
1:06:30 I've also had the system with the planet made of dead Tiyanki in my current playthrough. Managed to lure the defending Tiyanki away from the planet and crack it open. Unfortunately, was unable to keep the thing inside alive. Don't know whether it is because I was playing with all DLCs disabled or for some other reason.
When the big fleet rework drops, you should do a fanatic militarist run, really specialize in fleets; that way you live or die by adapting to the changes. Maybe use the Teachers of the Shroud origin just for the sake of covering it; you don't seem to have a video for it.
The delay is completely understandable, take it easy and don't overburden yourself, we'll just wait if we so have to! :) Also, I'd love to see more of Dome Keeper and Wandering Village, maybe even some of your really old series. I found Runestone Keeper and Rouge Legacy among your oldest playlists, and I love them! Similar games would be highly appreciated!
Awesome vid as always lath. If you havent looked at the beta yet, I think you're going to love cybernetic hives. If you're a devouring swarm you even get organ harvesting perks!
I’m just here commenting to say that I love this kind of thing, with gimmick playthroughs and the like. Plus, I’m always wanting to help this channel reach more people, and commenting does that.
