Wait . . . a dancer, mortician, 10 husbands . . . This is all by ONE WOMAN? I feel so boring.
Right! 😂
I remember she was on a sweetie pie episode they said she buried Ike
I think she's even got Liz Taylor beat 😉🤣
I'm wondering the 5th or 6th Husband let alone 3rd or 4th yea no problem I'm on board thinking the common denominator in all that was no don't feel boring please
Lived more than one lifetimes. 10 husbands tho🤣
10 Husbands? She's needs a full movie on her life.
....TYLER PERRY......WHERE ARE YOU...
Totally agree!
I concur.
🤣🤣🤣 oh yeah fast
Y’all need to find ALL of the Soul Train dancers from the 70s that are still around before it’s too late
She's been connected since 14. That was truly her path.
This is a pioneer who launched a lot of trends we still utilize today. Thank you, Queen.
So true and such a fascinating journey…
@@ccth22 yes I agree I love this series
"I went from live entertainment to deceased entertainment" 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
This held my attention. Great life story. What I'm really shocked about, when they found out she was a runaway, they didn't send her home to her parents?
I guess they figured she ran away for a good reason.
Back in the day when it came to runaways, as long as the teen wasn't causing trouble and was helping out, they'd take care of them. I'm sure word got back that she was the niece of one of the Bar-Kays as well.
So true
Exactly! In this day and age that would be considered trafficking the way Isaac sent her to another state to another GROWN MAN!! At least back then most adults were trustworty and we looked out and cared about our young folks. My how things have changed. Just glad she had a beautiful story to tell and not a tragic one.
Queen Diva Glamma 💖 She's really amazing. She does all of that and gives back to the community. I met her at a community event with Wigcaps by Sonia they make wigs for children that have cancer. She's legit
This is a good segment!! I wish they will make a DVD, box set, with all episodes.
I agree
Naw I like it like this. It feels more personal.
Yes, they really need to
When I was a kid, I would look 4 certain dancers when Soul Train came on.
She is killing everything from head 2 toe...proof u don't have 2 let urself go bc u get older or have kids. Simply elevate with time.
This Queen has LIVED!!
I had NO IDEA Darrnell Williams was a ST Dancer! He was...awesome as Jesse on All My Children!!
Love hearing these updates. She really used the exposure to elevate her dreams.🤗💥🤗
10 husbands! 😮wow!!!!!!!
Wow she had the most interesting back story on her way to being a part of the legendary soul train franchise!!! She’s definitely a Queen!!!💃🏾🪩🔥
Booked and Busy is an understatement for this Queen 🙏🏽💐 Talk about Live your Life 👏🏽🙏🏽
This segment was really, really interesting. I only wish that it had been longer. 👍😎
Wow, whatta life. She needs her own biopic… from a teenage age run away to Soul Train dancer to 10 husbands…to mortician/boutique owner? Damn, what have I done with my life?🤷🏿
I'm 50yrs. old and I still remember all the people they feature.😁
She was getting it! You hear me!
This funky lady lived a very active life !!! James Brown Barkays, Confunksion, Ike n Tina etc… The funk was in her n all around her.
I remember Queen.
The wig removal 🤣
I love this segment!!!!! Learned so many things. Please keep looking these people up!
After you guys feature all the dancers, I can't wait to hear about all the marriages and babies & families that happened because of soul train❤️
I need this woman's life to be made into a movie! Just phenomenal!
Every Saturday morning at 11:00.
📺 . . . . Thank u Don Cornelius. RIP
Aretha Franklin's son? We need his story next.
It's in Aretha Franklin book, his first time dancing on Soul Train is when Aretha sang Rock Steady in 1973. Watch the video, you can see him dancing near the stage(dressed in blue) in the video and Aretha and their cousin Brenda(Afro in pink) smiling watching him dance.
He's her dad's child and no one wants to talk about it....end of story
I’m a 70’s baby and remember Saturday mornings oh so well. We couldn’t wait to see who were the featured artists and pretending I was a Soul Train dancer. These stories are great. Please keep them coming.
@@diwi5823 That is Aretha's son Eddie dancing on Soul Train. Clarence is the son, that's suppose to be her father's child.
@@ceec3171 Thanks for clarifying
Queen Turner is fascinating! I want to know more!!!!
Beautiful story. You did good with your life, sis. 10 husbands? I think that beats liz taylor's record.
I LOVE this series.. more please💯🥂
Love all of these dancers stories. Old LA sounds so beautiful.
Wow!! She is EVERYTHING!!😍😍
She is a legend☝🏿💯🙏🏿
I miss the days of the 70's!!
Her name suits her journey! I'm in awe. Go 'head QUEEN✊🏾💪🏾🤴🏾👑🏆💯🙏🏾
Great story, what a life she's had.
She’s fabulous luved her story amazing
Queen Turner story about her life growing up and getting involved in entertainment world is so fascinating!! WOW!! she knew a lot of black American entertainers and celebrities that help her with her entertainment career. I love!!! what she said that Soul Train open a lot of doors for her and go where the money is I know that is right!!! Queen Turner still is a beautiful!! ageless lady. I enjoyed this interview.
This woman is AMAZING
She's Beautiful And A Great Soul Train Dancer ❤️
I love those time capsules: I always wondered what became of those fun youth.
Dope dancer! I love the way she moves! I was too little to remember her on soul train! But l love seeing her dance for the first time!

THANK YOU AGAIN. I LOVE THESE SNIPPETS. KEEP THEM COMING. I WISH IT WAS A WAY. THAT SOMEONE COULD PUT SOME OF THESE STORIES IN MOVIE FORM. MAYBE CONCENTRATE ON A SELECT FEW AND THE BACKGROUND STORIES THAT THEY HAVE.
FOREVER SOULTRAIN
That was a really great segment, what an amazing journey 👏
i grew up with Queen and her brothers and sisters in Historic Black Fairmount Heights Md
What a Life Miss Turner's led.
She was one of the BEST of the Soul Train dancers. Looked forward to that line dance every Saturday afternoon, and her amazing dancing up that line. Always wished I could be half as good as those ST dancers...and dance up that iconic line!
She is a beauty to watch and her fashion is something you can not forget.
Amazing story God bless you sister ❤️🙏🙌👑
I love these stories!
From Live Entertainment to Deceased Entertainment 😂😂😂😂😂
So cool!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Get it Queen!!!
she's got a daughter old enough to be her mom the way she looks. amazing. only god knows how they packed all that into 9 minutes. it felt like a documentary.
Thank You For Sharing Your Story. You Are Awesome And You Look Absolutely Beautiful. I, Cannot Believe That You Have Fully Grown Adults. You Look Amazing 👏😍
The fact she's from my area is amazing. Dc was really ruff back then, so to actually make it is amazing.
She had the best chunky shoes🌺👠she done the kind of living we all want
Wow, so gutsy and brave as a kid! ❤
WOW QUEEN BEEN MARRIED 10 TIMES!!!........HER KING STILL OUT THERE!!!
Omg, I love this lady 🔥👍🏼💯💜
maybe in my days of going to the Awards or after parties i passed this person. I was not ever a dancer on Soul Train though. Just one of those party boys.
She’s so mesmerizing and fly! 😍🔥I’d love to read her book
I loved Soul Train
I’m 61 and I wanna be like her when I grow up!
Wow. Fabulous life story. I love the ST lines and her leggy dance always caught my attention. I am glad she is still living life fully. ❤
Thanks for sharing and you still look good that dance you did when I saw some of the videos with you doing that dance it was the smoothest , I hope you continue to have success in life.
My childhood, great memories!!!!!
Fascinating Ms. Queen. ❤
I just discovered the videos on this channel and with tears in my eyes I say thank you! Thank you for archiving a beautiful portion of my childhood! To the soul train historical society thank you for preserving this legacy for generations to come and May God continue to bless you and keep you. ❤️ MUCH LOVE FROM NEW ORLEANS!
Can we please go back to this era of black glamour and entertainment. Everyone look so beautiful and NATURAL ... no crazy eye lashes, no crazy weaves, no super fat fake asses, no crazy make-up, no overly expensive designer clothes. Also the music was good and not super toxic and ridiculous
I like these Throw Back ,Story of Soul Train 🚂🚂🚂
I love this lady!! What an exciting and well lived life💜💜
I LOVE these interviews. Can we get the backstory on Little Joe, if it hasn't been told yet?
.....the person to tell THAT story has not been on this series yet.....and we are all waiting for her....the DANCING MACHINE HERSELF.....DAMITA JO FREEMAN.....
Bring back Soul Train! Don’t complicate it with the phoniness of today’s performers. Just bring it back, in its pure form!!
I remember her you are truly a legend ❤❤
This was a very good segment. One that I have not seen, until now. I’d love to see one with my all time favorite, Patricia “The Butterfly” Davis ❤
She walked in her truth!
Phenomenal interview, Cuz! 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
It is amazing to listen to these dancers tell their stories.❤ Thank you all for such an amazing experience you gave to us
Wow I eyes jumped out of my head when I heard she was from Roanoke Rapids, NC! It is very possible my family knows her family.
Omg 10 husbands???? Can most women get one 🤣🤣🤣🤣
No!
THIS WAS SOOOOO GOOD!!!
Love to hear the stories of the dances❤
Damn, she look GOODT!!!!!!!
waittttt Jessie(Darnell Williams) from All My Children was a soul train dancer. Wow, wonderful history.
....it was huge at the time....Don was very proud of all of those dancers who went on into show business and did well....
When Queen mentioned that Ike was into tracing family roots. It made think about how Ike legally fought Tina over the use of the "Turner" name. Queen is a smart woman. She did alright for a 14 year old run away. Did she ever see her family again?...
I was only 9 years old And I remember you God bless you sister Peace and blessings forever
I find it amazing that all these Stars 🌟🤔👏🏾👏🏾🤗🙏🏾💜❤️💜🤗🧡🙏🏾 were all able to link up,come together 🤔 and WOW there it is they became well known all over the world 🌍#famous💲.. funny how life is!🌏🌍✨⭐💫The lord's does magic 🙏🏾🤗
What a life!
I can see why she is writing an autobiography! 10 husbands and I can't even imagine leaving my mom's house at 14, even if I knew somebody!
What a fascinating woman!
Inspirational piece
Seeing how open and creative Soul Train was it's interesting to know that Don wasn't as open when it came to certain outfits, etc.
You have to place yourself in that time mentally. He was (like a lot of black people) trying to project the best image of African Americans at the time. This was very common coming out of slavery (think talented tenth) and again out of the civil rights movement that bore soul train. Respectability politics. That’s why he didn’t like her being bald headed.
Hail to the Queen!!!
