It's strange watching Soul Train footage because it's like peeking into another dimension where everyone's happy and the music is actually good...on another note, Sally's still fine af.
You said it
Well said
Fr henny
That's because this was before woke culture
Agree
She looked way better than alright. That show had some beautiful women and she was one of them.
Wowwwwww!
@Jamal Good yes she still beautiful
Ň
Especially the Asian women
I know that's right!
So everybody was on soul train dancing they butts off for free?! And most of them did it for yearsss!!! That’s crazy lol
People still do stuff for free today in order to get into the industry...a lot of people do stuff they don’t get credit for...a favor for a favor...in the 70s and 80s white people didn’t mess with us so it was extremely hard to break into the business....
@@ThunderKat2012 no way this would happen to this extent today though. People do stuff for free a few times for exposure, not every week for 10 years faithfully like it was their job.
They got into the club free plus they got chicken; what more could they asked for?
@@freetheworld2671 lmao they ain’t have no real job to go to? But I guess you right. Everybody love chicken 😂🤦🏽♀️
I know right. Don could have gave them something. It was on for years.
Can we get a interview of the girl who left her hanging at the door? Lmao I wonder what level she made it to with that attitude 👀
I was thinking the same thing. Man talk about dog eat dog, that was cold ❄️
I love the way she pops her body when she dances. She's the best!
“There go that Chinese girl’s cousin!” That comment sent me! 😂😂😂 I’m glad she was a good sport about it lol.
"There go that Chinese girl's sister!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Y’all ladies gots to do it with the accent
Der goez dat Chineeze gurl’s cuzin 👍
@@f430ferrari5 lolll
Considering she is Filipina and German, I'd say so indeed 😆
She danced so well even Stevie Wonder could see that...
well played
🤓🤣🤣🤣
💀💀💀🤣🤣
BRO MY FACE WHEN I SAW THIS POST....😯 🤣🤣🙈💀💀💀☠ THAT'S A GOOD ONE 👍
😆😆
The one dislike is from the girl that ditched her at the entrance.
Right🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
haters never prosper but Sally sure did 😂
She shouldn't tell him a lie of don't know Sally achenbach
Sounds like she just wanted to use her for a ride!
@@LanceyKersti EXACTLY!
Soul train dancers are legends
I love all their outfits, they look happy and free, just dancing and enjoying themselves
One, that girl will get hers for treating Sally wrong. Two, there is a special place in Heaven for Louie. What a gentleman.
Hopefully that girl Repent of dealing with the devil evil jealous
Yeah she got hers by having to watch the girl she stiffed get on stage while she hoped to get picked to get in .
This woman is still beautiful after all those years
That "friend" would've been walking home
For real
i really want to know why she did that
The female dancers had the best tight fitted dresses and outfits on television. When i was kid, faithfully tuned in every Saturday
Tight fitted yet classy, in my opinion.
They wuz cute, fasho, but the dudes brought most of the fiyah!
@@ElAye speak English, that looks dumb
@@calisongbird ...you obviously don't have much soul, are in need of attention, and didn't start watching ST until Don left.😂
Omg she so pretty looks like she didn't even age. She sounds so humble and sweet even after she had a bad experience, I love it love all these songs from back in the days way better then what is out now.❤❤❤
I started with Soul Train in 73 (in Philly).
I lasted about a decade.
I still watch occasionally.
They always had the best music.
The most incredible guests.
And of course, the dancers.
To this day, I'll gladly embarrass myself on the dance floor.
And I have those beautiful people, the Soul Train dancers, to thank.
I just found this YT series...and it makes me so happy.
Thank you Soul Train.
Thank you Don Cornelius.
My respects this lady is still stunning. 🖤
Yes she is and so are you !
She "kinda" looks just like she did back then. I remember when she first started dancing, she had a few extra pounds and her face was more round. Looks just like she does now.
Sally IS a sweetheart ... a true beauty!
I used to watch Soul Train every weekend and I remember seeing Sally all the time..she had a presence that made her stand out! Watching this now, I am reminded of how good of a dancer she was! 💯
This was before the internet.....facebook..tick tok...instagram...twitter... Pure innocence..... Great times!!!
I was absolutely in love with this woman. I was 16 when she stole my heart lol. I honestly rarely watched once I didn’t see her on the show anymore. This just takes me so far back. Pretty awesome finding this interview, I never knew her name or anything, just that I was absolutely in love with her. She seems like she’s as beautiful inside as out.
I am 60 years old and live in Germany, I made my first experience with R&B, soul, funk music in the 70s, when the disco era came to Germany and I got to know the music of Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Marvin Gaye. Later in the 1980s I bought records from SOS Band, Midnight Star, The Deele, The Time, and many others. Since the German discos did not have the most experience of this music, I went to the clubs in the American barracks to dance. I was dancing 2 to 3 times a week and constantly
I also got to know many American soldiers who gave me music information. Most of all I have music from singers and in 1987 I was able to experience my first and best concert by Luther Vandross. Since then I have been a big fan of his. I would like to thank all American musicians who made such music and also the people who like to dance and listen to this music. This music and the dance has opened my heart and nurtured my heart, this music has me a
Open up a world of emotions that I would never have known. This music showed me the universe and showed my soul. I wish everyone a good and musical time. The morning is like
the smile. Greetings from Heidelberg / Germany
My mom used to dance on soul train with her.
And she's still pretty 💃🏼
She's so beautiful. She looks better now.
That old feeling inside 💠 about Sally was great for lovely dancer! What the great memories about her!
"Sally from tha Valley!" I met her at Poppers Picnic she was sooo nice i mimicked her dance when i seen her she laughed. I danced in SoulTrain back 1998 It was cool just to be on the set!!!! Hey i just seen OG "Dapper girls" from Westchester hi. doing "the snake" they're b.n.a "The Good Girls"
Another of my favorites, Sally from The Valley
Why did people call her Sally from The Valley?
@@marlonharrison5511 first name Sally and she lived in the valley. It's a Cali term for certain cities in that region. Like San Fernando Valley, etc
@@gritzgravy1760 Thank you. I'm not from Cali so I don't know a lot stuff like that.
@@marlonharrison5511 it's cool because had I not lived there as a child, I wouldn't have known either
My dad danced on soul train 🚂 in the late 70s and 80s
Miss Sally Achenbach was a very fine looking young lady on Soul Train from back in the day.
I grew up from 1970s to the 90s watching SOUL TRAIN WOW 💃🏾🕺🏾
I remember her. She is still so beautiful after all of these years.
She is so beautiful and you can tell that she has a young beautiful soul, she still glowing✨
I REMEMBER HER! My aunt, rest her soul, was on Soul Train.
She was one of my Favorite Soul Train Dancers
Sally looked fine as hell back then and still looks good now
The most iconic of all. Love
Her
No way...but to each their own. ☺️
Sally She's Beautiful And A Great Dancer!!
I knew y’all was going to do Sally next. The 80s Soul Train Dancers were the bomb. I hope Dina Rivera, Myron Washington, and Rosie Perez
Pretty Brown Dancers, Ms Dina Rivera the other Dancer with the longer Hair down towards her Derriere. I remember seeing her dancing with this guy whom was very Elegant & Dapper. Her dance partner had the best wardrobe attire on Soul Train. I loved seeing them dancing together. I surely hope they interview him soon. And I hope they find Ms. Dina Rivera if she is still living. Perhaps they should be interviewed together that would be nice.
Don’t forget Leonette Scott and Crystal Calhoun
Did Rosie get her moves from her?
@@Shortlady82 There were so many from the 80s and early 90s era that needs their segment.
Rose is one of my favorite dancers on Soul Train.
Sally is gorgeous beautiful intelligent and amazing she can dance very awesome my favorite soul train dancer
I used to watch soul train every Saturday morning back in those days and i can remember all the dancers on their, so i remember her and i always say to myself that shes pretty and cute 😍...it was something i never miss ,so memorable 💖

Loved growing up to these dancers. They were so humble and probably why they are so memorable. Classic. Never be again. Love peace and soul 🤙🏽
I'm glad she mentioned CHERYL, i was always thinking they were related.
Her popping moves were hilarious!
Yes I so remember her!
Looked nice every Saturday and still do.
I used to love this show as a kid.
She’s so cute! I’m sitting here dancing watching her. Go girl!!!
Finally I know her name now! For the longest I thought she was kin to Cheryl Song, we call her Dollface, growing up, she still look the same. Gorgeous!!!
I love her Energy and personality! I love Soul Train!
Honor that was on the phone is the real hero.
So fun! I don’t know about her dancing skills but she was definitely at the right place at the right time. This just doesn’t happen anymore
Is that a diss on her dancing talent? You’re a snarky one. She’s a great dancer!
She was rockin that 80s fashion 😎🌟 this was so cute. ❤️
She was a Natural, had all the right moves seemed in her element, FANTASTIC.🤗
Wow. So cool to hear her story. Soul Train was so beautiful, an era unmatched. It pains me to see what main stream music culture has come from and become. Bring this back.
02:52...also, I didn't know Gumby was on Soul Train! Lmao.
Agreed
Loving Sally’s style and her vibe😎
It looked like so much fun and good vibes!
We need soul train back
Lol at "I look alright" honey you are gorgeous! What God had for you was already yours...you didn't need that phony lady that ditched you!
Holy shit I can’t believe that I’m 41 years old from Canada and I remember this girl
She is amazing 🙂 I would have loved to be a soul train dancer. Dance which ever way to some fantastic music. Wow what an amazing experience 🌠
I remember her from the Middle 1980s dancing on Soul Train. I never knew her name but she was Sexy and she still looks Beautiful. The lady that she arrived with to dance on Soul Train was probably intimated and jealous of her. That is why she lied to the guy at the Gate saying that she didn't know her🤦🏾♀️ Well it all backfired on the jealous Dancer, because Ms. Sally is one of those dancers that was recognizable on Soul Train🌹
Love this series ... wonderful stories of taking opportunity and talent to the next level. Long live, the SOUL TRAIN 💃🏾👏🏾
I was a soul train dancer too, just kidding, was born in 82, but I love the show. She was beautiful then and she is beautiful now.
Very proud of you and you still look incredible.
That girl did her wrong! She was fly as hell and still is!
That's why right there.
To be able to dance on tv, where millions get to see you,not to mention, meeting some of the best singers, and singing groups of all times for free. That's priceless.
Such a nice and classy woman. If her dancing got her on Soul Train then I could have got on there too!
She mentioned Cheryl Song...one of the original dancers on Soul Train....very nice!!!
Yes the music was rich and full of talent, different time for sure.
I rememberr her as much as you can remember someone you never hear talk.....good ol days
The music was great I miss watching soul train even tho I was a kid but enjoyed the entertainment.
She was amazing back then...rocked it girl!!
She's still looks Fine.... Time has been good to her ... She seems so nice.
Beautiful lady happy for her it was meant to bo love and blessings gs to her and the show always.😇😇😇😇😇😇🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕💕💕💕🥰🥰🥰😺😺😺
What a fantastic experience
We need a “I was a Soul Train Dancer” interview of Jeffery Daniel & Damita Jo Freeman
Hers and Cheryl's long hairstyle was really gorgeous
She was one of my favorites.. Always looked for her.. ❤
I remember her on soul train.

Wow, she has a beautiful voice, like a velvet...
Sally was one of my favorite dancers! Lol it was one of my childhood dreams to dance in soul train. when i saw two of my friends do the scramble board i was jumping up and down out of excitement hahaha!
Great editing on this video. I loved this little story. Soul Train!!!
I don't know how this was recommended but I am not disappointed.
So, finally we get to know the dancers. Nice to meet you, Sally, great fearless dancer! Tuned in to ST and AB every Saturday afternoon, after Saturday morning cartoons. lol. Good times!
she is still beautiful 😍
I had the biggest crush on her growing up.....and I still do.
Gotta get up early in the morning
Sally & Cheryl were iconic on Soul Train. I love Cheryl cuz of her long hair. I miss watching Soul Train on Sundays back in the 90s. Kids these days will never know how good TV entertainment was. RIP memories. 😆
Omg I used to love watching her
I would watch this show…..it still takes me back
A lot of kids kinda revered the Soul Train dancers. It was different back then because there was no internet or social media and a lot of households didn't even have cable t.v. So this is where a lot of kids were getting fashion trends and learning dance moves. Like there was a certain respect for the dancers because they were a big part of what made that show unique. It's surprising to learn in 2022 that they did not get paid.
