These are so beautiful. Me and my kids love creating things with Air Drying Clay and I thought for this year we will make our own Christmas tree ornaments, and I must say after searching on how others do it out there, yours are definitely my favorite. I will definitely be trying them out. I hope they will look as good as yours or at least close 😃🌸😍
I've read your blog post but don't see an answer to my question- apologies if I missed it. Can you use the leftover clay after each cutting round to knead together and roll out again or will that piece have weaknesses which will break more easily?
Hi Debbie, I got my cookie stamper online. I just googled 'alphabet cookie stamper in South Africa' and came up with this: lamay.co.za/collections/cake-stamps the stamps looked similar to the one I use. There were other results too so maybe you will find a store near to you. Good luck, I hope you manage to find some. 🙂
You can use the embossed rolling pins for baking after clay ornaments. You soak them in water and dawn and clean with a toothbrush, rinse and wash. it's only clay.
Hi Audrey, thanks for your comment. You should never immerse a patterned rolling pin in water completely nor should you put it in the dishwasher. Please see my blog post on using embossed rolling pins for more info on the best way to clean them. chalkingupsuccess.com/cookies-embossed-rolling-pin/

Hi … I just wanted to know … about using a sealant on the ornament. I got a varnish sealant but noticed that it reacts with the sharpie markers on the clay ornaments. The varnish on the acrylic paint looks fine. Wud u recommend any other sealant ? So it doesn’t make the sharpie Color bleed
If I use sealer, it's usually acrylic sealer or Mod Podge. If I'm just using stamps on these ornaments, I usually don't add sealer at all. I've never tried to add sealer over sharpie pens so can be of no help there I'm afraid. I would test out each sealer on a scrap piece of clay before using it on your ornaments. I'd love it if you could let me know how you get on! Good luck with your project! 🙋♀️
