Hand made items are much better, more personal, more human! Thank you for all the hours and hours of enjoyment, inspiration, education, and your great personality❤
I had tried mine on parchment about a decade ago and for both the paper clay and the type of air dry clay that is more the texture of potter's clay, it made them severely wrinkly on the backs. I had even gone to a lot of effort to tape down the parchment paper (which is hard because it doesn't adhere to most tape! 🤣) AND I weighed it down with heavy books. I think what happened was that as the clay dried, it shrunk and pulled the parchment with it, slowly wadding it up and embedding it in deep wrinkles in the ornament backs. I thought my problem was that they were too thick, so I made ones that were about 1/8" rather than 1/4", and the skinny ones ended up with really wrinkly backs AND curled up edges. There was nothing I could do to flatten them back out. So I don't know what product might make this process easier-you might be right about the silicone mat-but hopefully I'll save some others the week-long headache I went through with parchment paper! 🤷♀️
It really helps to get them off and pieces around what you are cutting out if you roll between two pieces of parchment paper, and freeze before popping off. Makes for a lot less work and better edges.
Lovely! Gingerbread is the new black!!! (Also, gingerbread cookies are my all-time favourite for any season/holiday ...yes, gingerbread Easter eggs, turkeys, pumpkins, and more!!)
Oh man this just made my day! How great to hear your voice again! This looks way fun, especially after doing dozens of balls, lol. Can’t wait for next week😍
Use a silicone baking mat or any silicone mat, wax paper, or parchment paper underneath and paint very carefully while wet to avoid shrinking and cracking. You can also dry on a drying rack... Then, decorate after dry.
Gorgeous!❤ After ordering your dotting tools, and I had to go back and get more bottles!😂 I have a couple, but you can never have enough for all the paint colors!😊 thank you for these wonderful tutorials! 🥰 Hugs!❤ Dawn
I bought a huge container of Crayola air dry clay at Ross for $7 so I would really like to use it for this project. So you think it would work about the same as the brand you used?
Hi Rachel! I have a few questions for you. 1) Can you add the paint to the clay and mix it up? 2) When you apply the sealer is that to seal the paint? 3) Can you seal the back also? Thanks for sharing a wonderful, easy and fun idea for ornaments. Have a Happy Holiday! Blessings!
1. I think you can, but I haven’t tried it. 2. Yes, the sealer seals the paint and adds stability and shine ✨ 3. Yes, I seal the back also. Happy Holidays!

AGREED. Handmade things have all the feels. thanks for watching my videos! I appreciate it.
OMGeorge! So adorable. It's great to hear your voice Rachel.
Hi Donna! Thank you 😊
Outstanding tutorial ❤
A Gingerbread butterfly? Yes! The time has come…..❤❤❤
These would go a lot easier if you roll them out and cut them on parchment paper. They won't stick so bad. Even a silicone mat would be better.
Yeah, I tried parchment paper but the backs were all wrinkly looking. I bet a silicone mat would work great! Thanks for your comment 😊

Hi Dawn! Thank you so much for your support. Bottles are so fun to paint with aren’t they? I’m glad you love them too 😊❤️

I will be making some of these. Thanks
Have fun!
Is it possible to create these lovely ornaments without that special bottle you use? It looks so easy but I haven’t got one!
You can use puff paint! You can just buy white 😊
Nice nice lovely
I use a silicone baking sheet, that is not sticky like the glass surface :))))
Yes! Great idea 🤩
Oh what fun!
Have fun!
What is the white colour thing known as that you are putting on gingerbread??

@@TheDottingCenter Thank you!!
Super cute ornaments. I have 1 question I just ordered that bottle set how do you keep it from clogging? It's so tiny
There’s a booklet and 45 min video tutorial that comes with the kit that shows everything you need to know to get started :)
@@TheDottingCenter thank you
Hi Woody
🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
Why paint them? Put glue on it and dust heavily wth cinnamon!
What a great idea! Going to try that. 👍
@@TheDottingCenter you can also make paint out of cinnamon and elmers glue. It might need a little water to thin it.
