I absolutely love this tutorial! I’ve been hunting for Christmas ornaments, but all the textured ones I like never come in a batch and/or are too pricey. Thank you for this easy DIY that I think will even be fun to involve my niece in making. 💜
You have my admiration! Your skills in every aspect of your art are top notch!! Loved all of your projects, and really loved the clock and the angel ornament...and the candle sticks! And the little dish...it was all lovely!
What a nice compliment, Mary. Thank you! There are so many possibilities with air dry clay, and I learn something new every time. I hope you enjoy trying some projects yourself!
I suggest you start with something like the ornaments to get used to rolling the clay and making simple shapes. Then you can move onto the trinket dish. You can do this!🙌🏼
I bought a packet of Das clay some time ago and never got around to using it. Now is the time. Thank you for clear instructions on how to make ornaments with it. Hope mine turn out half as good as yours.
I’m sure they will, Deirdre! Make sure you keep the remaining clay sealed in an airtight bag or container so it doesn’t dry out. That way you can make another batch later if your ornaments don’t turn out like you want the first time. Have fun!
Thanks, Rosaelina! I haven’t tried making jewelry from this. Polymer clay is a popular choice for jewelry because it is a little more durable. There’s no harm in trying with air dry clay, though!
I’d love to try some this week but the DAS clay wouldn’t arrive on time, could I use crayola air dry clay instead? Do you have any experience using it vs this brand? Thanks!
Das is my favorite due to the texture, but if Crayola is all you can find, that will work as well. It tends to be a bit softer, so the details might not be as crisp, but you’ll still have fun. You can also find Das at a craft store if you live near one. Enjoy!
Hi Valerie. Yes, these are meant as Christmas tree decorations, and I’ve also used them as an accent on Christmas gifts. You could also write on the back of the ornaments with a paint pen if you want to add a message.
Aside from the Angel being an Angel, I see nothing at all that looks like Christmas! For a botanical, they would fit a lot better. Sorry but these are not Christmas ornaments to me.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, Jeannie. I’m just trying to be kind to others, help when and where I can, and encourage others. I’m sure you can relate? You might enjoy my salt dough ornaments better. They are in traditional Christmas shapes. These air dry clay ornaments are for people who like the natural/coastal aesthetic. You can also leave them white or paint them red if you like. Have a great Christmas!

@@FirstDayofHome I have an unopened package of Das here, but I don't think I possess the magic!!

I absolutely loved these ornaments!❤️
Thank you so much, Anna!💕
Loved it. Thank you! Since these don't go in the oven, do they hold up well and don't crack easily?
Thank you! No, they don’t crack easily and hold up pretty well. My only advice is not to make them too thin. Have fun!
@@FirstDayofHome Thanks! Can't wait.
Yay!
