    In the case that HSP is just a subcategory of autism (which some people think it is), I’d like to add a few more things.
    1. Take care of your sensory needs. This can look like wearing sunglasses indoors if the lights are too bright, wearing earplugs in noisy places, stimming after being in a stressful environment, etc.
    2. Be honest about your needs. This one can be hard because of that little voice berating you for not being able to do what other people can, but it’s important to know your limits.
    3. Don’t mask if you can help it. There might be some situations when you need to mask for your own safety or to maintain some stability (ex. a job that is unfriendly to disabilities, but pays the bills), try to carve out enough time in the day to let the mask fall off. It takes a lot of energy to pretend to be something you’re not, and too much of it can affect your physical health.
    4. Do some research on autism. Some of you might believe you are HSP but not autistic, but if there’s a chance you’re operating on stereotypes and Hollywood depictions, educating yourself further could make it a bit clearer. And make sure to prioritize sources that include or center autistic people’s viewpoints instead of ones that leave us out of the conversation.
    5. Lastly, if you think you’re autistic, consider seeking a diagnosis. While there are some barriers you might face if you get diagnosed, you might find, after thinking about it for a while, that’s it’s the right choice for you. And if you don’t want to risk the barriers, just research as much as possible. This is one of the reasons a lot of autistic people are receptive to people self diagnosing.😊

      I second all of this advice, especially the part about the masking. Even if you can't unmask and be yourself all the time (or even most of the time), it's important to be able to have time to do that and schedule it if needed.

    I was getting jittery and anxious after drinking coffee as I got into my 30s, so I've switched to black tea and it's much better. All of the things you mentioned in this video were really accurate to my experience, thank you!

    I have had negative experiences with less sensitive people in my life (no longer in my life) that completely did not understand my needs as an HSP. The words a (no longer) therapist used to describe me at one point was that I seemed “fragile”. Seriously?! If you look at the things I’ve dealt with in my life, you would not guess that. I just have different needs than you. I do feel things deeply. I admit this does make me more susceptible to depression than others. However, I never viewed this as a weakness but rather a heightened ability to have compassion. intuition as well. I can suss somebody out before they do something when they’re not good for me.

    I'm also a (probably AuDHD) HSP (also 5w4 INTJ, lol), though caffeine makes me more relaxed and focused.

    Once I learned about HSP it was like a giant light bulb went off and I finally understood so much. The part of the video I found funny is being connected to nature. I’m such an indoor person that going on a hike sounds so exhausting lol I love beautiful things though. I think what makes me feel something similar is traveling somewhere new.

    Last time I went to the beautiful meadow to enjoy the nature and paint a landscape, some man with a dog came and yelled at me.
    :( Because I am scared of dogs and asked him to make the dog stop jumping on my back. So no, thanks, no going to the nature alone for me.

    I think people categorized as 'Intuitive Feelers' on the MBTI are the Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs). All the characteristics that you have previously mentioned can be seen in their behaviors.

      Not all intuitive feelers are HSP, but I think most HSPs are intuitive feelers.

    Not all of these are HSP things. There are HSPs who are extroverts and we talk a lot. Especially HSPs who are also HSS. There are psychologically sensitive introverts who are not HSPs and would still benefit by some of these
    Sincerely, HSP who is ENTJ 8w7 (and a strong 7!), and also HSS

    I don't feel connected to nature because of insects everywhere. I can't eat until I'm in some apartment, nature makes me very anxious and nervous
