Been ketovore/carnivore since a quintuple bypass in 8/2019. Lost 200lbs, fixed T2D, HBP, gout, Ed, sleep apnea, and so on. Came off of all 12 prescriptions, A1c 5.4 from 7.2, hdl 60, triglycerides 60, ldl 105, glucose 103, and BP averages 117/69. My 70yo wife’s labs are within a couple of points of mine. We have been carnivore (high fat for the wife) for 6 months and we are OMAD. Feeling better than we can remember. Staying the course with carnivore. Thank you for all you do Dr. Berry. I push you on everyone I meet.

@@CarnivoreRenegade I lost 200lbs. Doc said that the tongue was no longer swollen in the back and so no obstruction. 02 levels during sleep range between 92%-99% through the night and the only time I wake is to urinate around 0200. My Apple Watch ultra shows the same results in the health app.

I'm 68 and still going strong in a very busy hospital. I have always tried to eat as all natural as possible. For me going carnivore/keto has completely changed my mood. I don’t have as much anxiety I don’t feel as down in the dumps or depressed ever since switching my diet to real food, red meat Included no Grains Very little vegetables and fruit and I’ve never felt better
    breath better
    Sleep way better
    And not tired anymore
Have cerebral palsy and my muscle spasms are much more manageable I do find that my head and thinking is much more clear and not as busy. The constant thoughts just seems more calm.
People are sick of me talking about it but it’s so amazing I can’t not talk about it.

Dude, THIS is what I rave about! Forget weight loss and muscle gain (for now), the improvement in my depression and anxiety that I didn't even know I was suffering from was the absolute coolest thing that came out of this lifestyle. I always tell people to give it a solid month, then the "clouds part" and you feel like you should have felt for all these months / years! Who knew being tired all the time wasn't just a byproduct of getting older?

This is the strangest thing, every diet I’ve ever been on includes broccoli. I’m so thankful that I do love brocolli. All my grans love broccoli 🥦 they call it trees. Also they love corn on the Cobb.
Here’s the only Doctor I’ve ever heard of disagreeing on the benefits of eating brocolli. This makes this dr. Different, UNIQUE.

I've had a devastating brain injury that I worked my way back from by over 90%, with thousands of hours of hard work and therapy plus a little luck...
then over the last 20 years, I've sustained an additional injury at least 15/20 times, plus countless bumps into the wall, fridge parts, car door/window, etc, due to bad depth perception
in 2017 I was diagnosed with cerebral atrophy, and told there was no rehab, no surgery, meds or any other type of therapy course that would stop it.... apparently I'm just stuck with the damage and it's progressive over time (but they say that about diabetes too, and I already proved that not to be true once)
I swear that in the last month or few weeks, my memory is starting to improve some...my short term may or may not completely get made over, but after being told there could never be any repair, I'll take any improvements that come.

Dr Berry, I have heard you mention several times that it is wise for a type 2 diabetic to get a C-Peptide test to see if the pancreas in indeed working. I just got my labs back and I had asked for the C-Peptide to be included. My C-Peptide results came back at a 12.50 with it showing the reference range should be 1.10 - 4.40. Does this mean my pancreas is not working or does it mean it is making me too much insulin? I am also confused that if I am insulin resistant which I obviously am, why am I given more insulin to inject? Also my triglycerides are absolutely frightening this time at 2094 with an A1C of 9.2. I am going to do strict carnivore for 90 days and then go get retested. I have done pretty dirty keto for the last two years and at least for me, playing around with carbs even a little is like an alcoholic playing with one or two drinks. It just does not work out too well. This is the main reason I am going straight carnivore and dumping all carbs for the next 90 days to see if I can restart some things in my body.

Dr. Berry says it doesn’t have to be beef all the time. Sometimes I’ll even get a pre-cooked grocery store rotisserie chicken. Even liver is good for you.
