    Good morning Harris. I have been wondering where you have been. So good to see you back. That Shellac was a nice find and a super price. I have never seen a copy anywhere since it was released. 🎶I have always liked that Electronic song. It is just so chill and catchy. Not all of the musician team ups deliver the goods. But the Johnny/Bernie collaboration worked. For me it did anyways. 🎵Speaking of musician collaborations. Did I miss you showing the new Morrissey RSD 12" for the song "Interlude" to which he collaborated with Siouxsie Sioux? BTW. I am still scratching my head as to why they would release this particular song? Especially when there are so many other Moz 12" singles that are so much better and so much more in demand. They should have re-released the 5-track French promo for "The Loop". Or maybe go the full length of the RSD field and reissue "You Are The Quarry" for all of the fans who do not own the album on vinyl. Anyways. I am on another Moz rant babble. Did you see the RSD release for "Interlude"? I think it is on colored vinyl and only pressed in the UK. You guys always get better releases than we do here in America. 🎶 Excellent update Harris. The perfect way to start a Sunday morning of VC viewing. Hope to catch up with you soon. Oh. Thanks for the MBV review for their debut "Isn't Anything". Sounds like a quality pressing~

      @Harrispilton22  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi Rob...no I was completely unaware of ‘Interlude’...sounds interesting!..& slightly baffling. I thoroughly recommend the MBV remaster if your looking to upgrade..far punchier sound & they haven’t jacked up the price...equivalent of about $30.00. Yes I was very surprised to find a copy of Shellac, Steve’s untimely death has understandably caused the first run to sell out in a day, but I think prices will settle. I think it’s an album you would like Rob, slightly more approachable than usual. Great to hear from you as always...hope all is good in Boston, lovely day here!

    My Shellac arrived on the day of release from Amsterdam. Live in the Netherlands. Pretty expensive for half hour of music but still love it . Think it’s better than the last one which I never play now. Saw them last October in Amsterdam Paradiso. They played there and in Belgium which I think were the very last shows Steve did. Glad I got to see a good few of the new tracks played live. I have to add the Rapeman album in there too. I prefer that to Big Black. You have the Scratch Acid rhythm section. A bit looser and could you say funkier than Shellac. David Sims also from the Jesus Lizard. The best bass player he had in any band he played with

Genesis...you are full of surprises 😂 My new Shellac is still in the mail. I saw them about 4 times over the years. Shit they were good and one of the best was a double bill with Fugazi. Still can't beat those Big Black records though. I so wanted to like Electronic, but just couldn't get into it. Finally someone who likes the best MBV album. I think you’ll love that Shellac...Todd Trainor is the star on this one....& the sound quality will knock your socks off. Genesis was one of those bands I was forced to watch on MTV, while I waited for videos to come on by bands that I liked. As far as Electronic...I've never been able to get deep into anything Marr did post-Smiths. I've tried, mind you, but nothing grabbed me. As for Bernard...well, I am seeing Peter Hook & The Light in a few months. I'm in Peter's camp!

    Harris, DAF - Der Mussolini 12" and leather bars. I bought the albums back in the day and picked up that 12" recently. Fond memories of early 80's watching the Heaven nightclub queue on New Years Eve as we were staying by the Arches for a night out. Actually we saw Divine in Harrods that day also. Great finds with B-52's, Grace Jones 12" singles, shame about the Genesis and Maria McKee ones imo. I have the MBV Isn't Anything original, I have just ordered that reissue as likewise with The Cure's Disintegration LP the original press sounds rubbish (muted, crackly) compared to the later reissue.

    Electronic were a bit patchy when push comes to shove, you think its going to be an all you can eat buffet but its only 5 items! Shellac to me sound like a -low sperm count- mating of Pixies and Beastie boys, but that's just me!
    Leather bars? 🤔

      Ha,ha! I put a comment on your ‘Big’ video Stevie...but it’s probably got lost with the other 6000 😂 On a serious note I hope you can monetise that? I wasn’t sure where you stood?

      @@Harrispilton22 Hi Harris, I did see your comment. I have been away (attempting a holiday) so I am building up to replying. As a/the new Leader of the Vinyl Community I now have to choose my words carefully you understand!! Glad you got the employment situation sorted, I'd hate to think what you'd get up to with the same time on your hands as me ; ) 👍

      @@SteviesVinylCupboard cheers. It was a total mess & ive had to seriously trade down...but I did negotiate a settlement...it kind of ended as a score draw!

      @@Harrispilton22 I've been there, believe me, a score draw or a stalemate is a big win. Cheers

    Sigh. I guess we're just going to have to keep waiting for Harris' Coldplay rankings video.

      Ha,ha. I’m guessing asking her to ‘Like & Subscribe’ is out of the question 😂 Warning these are all pretty noisy records! .’Atomiser’ by Big Black is pretty brutal, but the guitar playing is insane. ‘Isn’t Anything’ by MBV is very distorted pop. If you get them, I hope you enjoy them! Cheers my friend!

    I had no truck with singles when I restarted my vinyl collection, but there was some stuff missing. It was only when you mentioned UK 12" I realised what it was. All those extended tracks and B sides. Gives me a whole other collecting task 🫤

      Hey, it’s a rabbit hole! Easier to find in the U.K. than America. Sound quality is always phenomenal with 5 to 10 minutes of music on one side . I’m addicted to them...& in the main they are fairly cheap!

      @Harrispilton22 Yes, I picked up four for twenty quid the other week, and they all sound fantastic.
