Corporals Corner you should tell people somewhere in the middle of the video to hit this like button on your comment .... I don’t see a lot of people liking this
HELLO from chihuahua mexico, I love your videos and the knowledge on them, I have a question, if you build the fire that close to the roots of the tree, this don't damage the tree? Is just a question, GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
To stop the clay from cracking mix it with hay or bark fibers it will make it stronger or you can fill the gaps with pieces of bark or small pebbles then clay it on both sides of the walls this will stop the clay from shrinking to much so it won't crack all the way through
Try putting a second keyword string at the beginning of your title surrounded by brackets. I'd recommend [Bushcraft Camping & Cooking]. Next, put your website at the top of your description box and put the title, word for word, after it. Then build on the first paragraph with your title contents and video layout to build up your UA-cam juice.
Hey Corporal, I Dunno if you’ll read this but... I usually don’t comment. But your videos actually mean a lot to me for some reason. Your deep talks next to the fire are very inspiring to say the least, and have made me try and go out and want to connect with nature. Thank you.
Hey I know it's hard doing the stuff you do because of views being low sometimes but I think I speak for a lot of us when I say that you are helping more people than you will ever know. No only to learn survival and bushcraft but for people that are wanting to learn new things in life and expand their knowledge. So please believe me when I say that your an amazing AF!!! and we couldn't ask for a cooler bad ass to teacher. Please don't let haters ruin our way of learning life saving knowledge just because of low views. Thank you so much for everything you do and keep your heads up. With all the respect in the world a loyal viewer.
Corporals corner u don't need to change a thing. You are going to get ur millions of subscribers. Just have fun doing your thing. Your quality content will prevail
Please for the love of god dont go anywhere man... You really are the only one that actually uses and does stuff overnight every single time. Whether UA-cam gives you credit or not.. You have the best outdoor channel innthe platform
My 5 children and I have been enjoying your content. We too live in Ohio (near hocking hills.) now that the weather is breaking we've been walking through our woods (10 acres) and are starting to recreate your shelters just on a larger scale so all 7 of us can enjoy them. Thank you for the videos.
Fairly new subscriber(less than a full year) so I’m working my way through the older videos. The knot tying videos have been extremely helpful because time and radiation treatments have shredded the ole long term memory. The shanty in the woods is a great thing to get my nephews into outdoor life. There is nothing wrong with self-promoting, in my humble opinion. One does it themselves, or pays someone to do it. I did sign up for the email list. Stay safe and healthy out there.🤘🏻😎
As always your innovations are a welcome change. It is sad as stated earlier that this may go unnoticed. I will be here every week for you bro. Looking forward to seeing how your "Swamp" materializes.
Great video again. When all my woods buddies past away I stopped going out, but since I've been watching you , I started getting out again, alone but out. So you must be doing something really good. Thanks.
Hey Corporal, I just wanted to thank you for teaching me all these skills over the past few months that I’ve been watching u, getting back into the outdoors and practicing different things helped me deal with everything going on with this pandemic
Hey Corporal.. It is truly refreshing and inspiring to see you still fighting the good fight on youtube... The quality of content in your videos is exceptional. keep up the good work Brother!! God Bless You and God Bless America!!!!
Really looking forward to seeing that shelter develop. Several of your videos are in the recommended list, yours is the second one on the list. Keep up the Outstanding work!
great work Marine! I suggest a simple mix of mineral soil, ash and dried grass and twigs for your chinking packed into a damp crack . For larger cracks stuff with lichen first then ram it in with a larger blunt stick to compress it. I hope you decide to use a stockade style back and front wall/door. A heavy thatched roof over a cross member truss will serve you well too. It's been the style for many thousands of years! When you build your fireplace look up "Rumford" as a mason I've built many and their chief feature is very efficient radiant heating. Flat rocks will serve that quite well providing a huge secondary passive radiant heating. All my best!
Every Sunday!!! After seeing your video my recommended list is all corporals corner and I keep watching one after the other!!!! Im an Eagle Scout 2015 these skills and tips are outstanding !!
"The Price" by Twisted Sister! 🤘🤘 I recently caught up on all your 2020/2021 videos and was looking through the Overnight Playlist. I was surprised to find my favorite TS song - it immediately took me back to 1985, high school and wilderness camping. So naturally I had to let the playlist continue and this was the next video. A great re-watch.
Commented on the first vid, now I'm watching the build playlist. I've watched 'My Self Reliance' build his first full-size log cabin, and now watching him build his new cabin...truly is a lot of work to do the real thing. Keep the vids coming, I'll definitely keep watching.
I have concluded that I am now addicted to your videos. The more I see them, the more I want to try some of the things you teach. Thanks for teaching us life skills in a manner that is easy to understand and copy
Thanks for showing two ways to do almost everything you did today. Also, the cheesy 80's prep for battle music, made the video!...I know it is not your style but you are getting to the point you need to make camp furniture. a nice table for the stove, get out of the dirt.
no matter what number you rate at in youtube,, I will always follow you daily, everynight I watch your videos, one after another until I must give in to bed time. You will always rate number one as well as all the instructors from pathfinder.. I wish we had something like this in my area. Keep up the great work you guys are all awesome AF!!
Dear Corporal, I enjoy your videos and began following you at the beginning of the pandemic in mid-March. Bushcraft has enhanced my learning in camping and survival skills much similar to my previous work with the National Park Service in Alaska, and training sessions with the Sierra Club. What you do here on UA-cam is not only entertaining but it also is informative. In my personal opinion, you also inspire and raise the human spirit for people who suffer from depression, who search to find ways to cope with their disability. I wish you continued success here on UA-cam and in your words: "I will see you next time." Best Regards Brian G Bardy
Personal preference - I like double-bit axes - used them since I was a kid (I'm 70) - and lately, I bought a small double-bit hand axe. No hammer, but what you were doing with a shovel perfectly fits this tool. i'm faster with my hand axe then I am with a bow saw. 40 years of practice and a sharp axe.. Loved the video, thanks.
I don't know how many times I've watched this video. Something different catches my eye each time. Just want to tell you that I appreciate you using all of your cutting tools. For teaching technique, this is AF. Keep it going Bro.

Just wanted to say 1.) this is the best backpacking channel on UA-cam 2.) I love your content so much 3.) I took my dad backpacking a few weeks back & we had a great time but the poor guy is a little heavy & getting a little old and had a rough time, but it was quality time & so important for this father & son duo to be out in nature together!! Thanks Corporal!! You’re the best!!
By joining the Navy, I missed out on all the cool outdoor survival stuff the other military branches learn. But I'm catching up! Thanks for sharing! Can't wait for pt2!
Second recommendation down was a 50+ video playlist of Corporals Corner videos. Had half a dozen more in the top ten. I think UA-cam is getting the hint.👍👍
Dude, please remind everyone to cut the saplings off at the ground. Leaving a sharp stob sticking up could seriously hurt someone. You are doing a fantastic job! Thank you! Keep it light and educational and positive! Let the haters hate! Just ignore them. You are a bigger man than that. You got your stuff together and are a success at what you have chosen to do. Envy abounds!! Your channel was the first one I ever subscribed to! No joke! You inspire me and educate me! Keep it up! And I will see You next time!
Will, I also have subscribed to this channel because of the information, delivery, and pure enjoyment the corporal provides. I have learned so much because of his teaching style. He has a way of reaching some of us that learn differently from others. We're not stupid, our brains are just wired differently. He has the ability to reach us in a way that works for us. Thank you Shawn for all you do for us!
In Scotland we call them a bothy. They also can be former two roomed cottages, shepherds huts etc. The Bothy Association look after these many shelters for climbers and walkers. They are prone to abuse (bothies) and many people leave their empty beer cans and whiskey bottles and other rubbish.
Brother this was awesome can't wait to see the second part but next time true the sausage with jalapeno and cheese with the bacon it's outstanding. Semper Fi brother
#2,3,10,11&14 were all your videos. I watch a lot of corporals corner and go back and watch your older videos as well so I may not be what is typical. Great video. See ya next week!
Corporal, make some kind of a bushcraft sled or travois to bringup more clay per trip ...might be a tad easier..but clay is clay...damn heavy stuff..like water and ammo.
"It looks like a giant turd..." I was thinking the same thing and LOL'd when you said it. The clay will shrink as it dries. How much depends on the type of clay and the initial water content... some will shrink a little, some a lot. An option would be to build in cracks that you later fill with new clay. You'll still have cracks, but you control where they are and then can fill them, which will make smaller cracks. Packing the clay is a good idea, too.
Pro tip to regain traction! People who watch UA-cam from their ps4, Xbox or computer can hit the “play all” button on your channel when they’re going to bed and just leave it playing with the tv on or off 🤷🏻♂️ been doing that for the last week now.
Sorry I’m watching it a day late but I was helping my brother move yesterday, much love corporal, have been watching you for a few years still watching. You are awesome.
I was going to do this in my back yard and started with the bacon wrapped sausage. After that, it just didn't seem important to finish my shelter so I just sat on the porch eating sausage and sipping a beer. The rest just didn't seem all that important anymore.
Thanks for making the improvements to the original concept. Looks fantastic. I am learning something on every video and some points are great refreshers. A lot of work is going into each episodes. I can’t wait for the other videos and see the magic happen.
hey buddy on that clay for your cracks add some woods moss to the mix kinda helps my friend some old timer taught me this trick good luck and awesome video (oh 20% moss the rest clay)
I am curious about what happens to your camp when it rains. I think the ground would turn to mud and you are sleeping in it on a ground pad. What about a drainage ditch around the high side of your fort, or a plastic ground sheet?
Hey, I'm thinking you are doing some real historical research. Specifically the Long Hunters. SO many historians classify them as tough, independent, skilled and able to endure months on end in the winter in tarp tents. I've never believed that because they were also smart. I'm thinking that since they would only be in an area for a few months they wouldn't build a full cabin. What they would build is what you are doing. If you were going to spend three to six months in an area before moving on what would you build? How much time would you invest in something you would never see again? I think they left the tarp roof up all the time and put evergreen boughs on top to insulate. But that's my reading. God Bless, Jody
Corporal AF sir. Thank you for an outstanding video. I like these collections of part series, they are a great addition to the playlist channel of military instructional outdoor survival. Thank you for your hard work, it is much appreciated. As requested I played the next top video which was yours. You had many more sporadically in my "Up Next" list. Looking good here in Australia. 'Salute'
Outstanding AF👍👍 Now that's work brother, moving logs by hand is not a lot of fun. The shelter is already looking good to go, the rock wall with fireplace will be awesome. Fried pork wrapped around grilled pork...yummy! Looking forward to the next episode of the build, gonna be bitchin'.. Great video. Enjoy!
Ty for doing this it means the world to me after watching all these I'm going to try to build something like yours with my grand children so we have our own little get away Love 💖💖💖 your videos

That shelter is looking pretty serviceable with two walls, a roof, and a partial third wall. Also, I can't argue with you choice of dinner.

@@boogie_cold7977 H
In the civil war troops in winter or more permanent camps did this. They called it "stockaded."
His choice of dinner is always good. Every time I watch his video I get very hungry.😂
A man is never too old to build a fort!
Most underrated comment.
the rock fireplace would be a intersting thing to see and once agin another outstanding video i think it needs a name for the cabin "the bacon haven "
I think this shanty build is going to be the start of something epic, the corporal doesn't do anything by half measures 👊🏽🙏🏽
Try mixin dried grass n2 that mud.
It should reduce cracking considerably.

This is the best kind of episode. Something that can be done with the kids.
Literally 99% won’t see this: Your amazing and wonderful stay safe during this rough times have a amazing day 😍

Nice remake of your new mini tarp cabin. Next year here on the left coast I plan to make a change similar to you. 🍻
God Bless,
Jody
Now that is a great shelter. Looking forward to more. Safe journeys.

Even though I'm 62 you said build a fort and I'm like "so cool". Btw my wife informed me Corporal AF doesn't mean corporal air force.

Miss seeing medium size dude, Semper Fi brother!
This was a bada** video. It was really awesome 👌. Thank you for posting this video. And the food as always was great 👍.
And you have the nerve to call yourself “old and fat.” Bro you handled your business! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome build! Looks great and can't wait to see the next video in the series!
How do you tackle constipation and lack of vegetables in a camping environment?
Easy. Just eat more meat! I mean, my steak ate vegetables, then I eat the steak, so I get vegetables second-hand.
Enjoy!
You should do a video on the spookiest moments you've had in the woods for halloween.
it would be a blank video, cuz nothing happens
Ty for doing this it means the world to me after watching all these I'm going to try to build something like yours with my grand children so we have our own little get away
Love 💖💖💖 your videos
