I am a big guy who is out in the woods to help me loose some weight. Down 80lbs. sense last year. Your videos are outstanding and continue to inspire me to keep getting out and recently my daughter has started joining me on my trips. Thanks again for your outstanding content.
I have a stroke in 2011 and can only do a little, but I have learn so much from you! My step-father, Top Sergeant Camille D’Hount, was a Marine, did his time Viet Nam. I catch every video you make! GO ON!
I’ve had people leave comments saying “I hear a train in the distance, you ain’t that deep in the woods” not realizing that a train can be heard from about 3 to 4 miles away Great video Sir
Pooter Stomper I don’t think he ever said he was remote anyway. Besides, remote is relative...depends on where you live. If you get to where you can’t see a house or road some places you are doing good. I live where I can easily get 10 miles from the nearest dirt county road and 20 miles from nearest house. Not that I walk that far...I take a horse.
Jack Duncan true...I’m just saying I can relate when people freak out because they think you need to hike 10 miles into the wilderness to enjoy a night in the woods
Hell, I’ve camped in my backyard in the middle of the city and it’s every bit as difficult in the basic challenges of staying warm and dry. Outside is outside.
Great show as always Shawn! Thank you again for throwing those shout outs in. I really appreciate you making that effort. I am getting so tickled with all the comments about you not checking your boots lol! I guess there was always a slim to none chance that a critter crawled in there in the short time after you turned on the camera, pulled your boots off, got back in the tent and then got back up to put your boots on to continue filming lol.
“Educate yourself...educate others” This is how we learn and is proven with first hand experience. Great advise, great video, and of course an outstanding meal!!!
I am 69 years old and have no problem sleeping when I need to do so. I may nap during the day or early evening or just give it up and sleep for the night starting very early. Last night, I went to sleep about 8 PM and slept until 4 AM ........ Meals can put me to sleep at times also but that is life. I love your channel and have been watching since you started all those years ago. Thanks for sharing with us. I have had a job since I was 12 years old mowing lawns but have never worked a day in my life because I loved what I was doing. I got payed to play even while others were working at the same job.
I’m prior Army Corporal, and I just wanna say, I’d go to war with you anyday ! Very knowledgeable ! You’re squared away my friend ! As a father of 3, I’m learning from your channel to pass it on to my kids. Keep on truckin, you’re good to go.
Earl Gray tea ... I was expecting a Star Trek/Captain Picard joke but I almost choked with laughter when you poured out the tea and burned the tea in the fire. LOVE the advice ... start the work of your life!! Bravo!! Well said!!!!
Thanks for all videos!!! Tomorrow will be my first ever overnighter, I've been watching your videos and practicing knots, shelter building ect... But tomorrow will be my first real test. Low of 40 with light rain during the night... Can't wait, thanks again!!!
☆☆ You say to Comment So Yes Sir I do... burning your signature in the wood rake is definitely something I would personally buy! Think other fans would agree. Or even burning a phrase or symbol into the wood would be soo cool. Again best wishes. You make everything look fun and show easy ways of doing everything in the nature. I say easy, vs some of the ways I've seen other men do the same work. Eeeek!!! I'm just so ecstatic about every video I watch. Learning more and more! Thank Goodness I found you! Where have you been all my life🤣💜 😎
I just want to tell you I lost a family member from this f virus family is my I do hate working but for me family comes first my husband don't work because of his situation I 💘 want you do and I will continue watching your videos MY God bless you and family in this time of need thank you for serving our country 💘 YOU
I'm married with 3 step children. Finely was able to get out this weekend with the family for an overnighter. Been watching for about 6 weeks. Used a lot of things I've learned and was able to teach my step son a few things. Just wanna say thanks! I enjoy your channel.
Great video, you had me saying, "no way! are you serious? Tea?!" then over your shoulder it went. Well played comedy surprise. Burned the box too. F - word funny bro. It's cool you mentioned the other Bushcraft folks. Recently you mentioned Coal Cracker so I checked him and Deficit Attention Outdoors, After I watched it, ( it was awesome too) YT put this video up,just a fyi thing. What makes you outstanding is the direct, short, precision in your comments. It has a admirable military vibe to it. Thanks for your service in the Marines and the bushcraft world.
Thanks again for the virtual learning seminar Corporal, outstanding AF as always. Since I only have one tree within 100 miles of my home (and it's a mesquite) I'll admit the hammock/tent setup is not for me but I stayed for the pizza. I'm so glad I did since you answered my question about the rake, I just figured it was the same one and you kept lugging it around for every video
Corporal, awesome videos brother. I have been binge watching lately and trying to thumbs up on all of them. Keep sharing the knowledge and ideas. You have a work ethic far superior to 99% of other tubers. Thanks again and keep on pumping it out!!!
This is the best channel. All kinds of information on gadgets, ideas and procedures. This channel is great for me because when I camp or hunt I like to be able to do everything out of the back of a pickup truck. I don't want a big camper or to have to tow a big expensive trailer. Even if you are not into camping the information provided is extremely interesting and you can gain a lot of knowledge.
I really LOL'd at you striking the Burt Reynolds pose. Your retro quips are the icing on the cake in your videos. Can't believe the lack of comments on this. I guess that really shows my age. 😂
That pizza though... I will definitely add that to the list of great recipes I've collected from your videos. Thanks for the content Corp. I always enjoy them.
Long time viewer, but just recently subscribed..and first time commenter! .I am loving the solo over nighters you're doing now! I liked the old videos too but these are my new favorites.
Your channel brings me back to Bridgeport for the Rock Climbing and Repelling package. Miss it! Forgot it! And now because of Corporal...practice the skills --> hone the skills --> OWN THOSE SKILLS! Yep, your channel motivated me to work on my new bugout pack and despite challenges with child support for three children residing in California with a mommy looking to never work, it has been a struggle. When I can afford my Bushcraft knife, I will be practicing Bow Drill and make fatwood bags once they are dried out. But to the rest of you in my boat...keep at it and scrape and save. Slowly but surely. The Lord ALWAYS provides. Amen
Another great video Marine. The wife loved the cooking, buy the best gift in this video for me, was the two Black tail deer walking through your camp. That is true harmony with nature.👍
That was a beautiful fire! Looked like White Birch but was probably just going to char. But very romantic! You made it look very comfortable and warm in the hammock. The blue would keep someone or something from running into you in the middle of the night. Sleep well! tms poet Ohio
Corporal Shawn, I enjoy watching your videos even though I cannot get out camping due to a long term back injury, I have bulging discs in my spine and can't bend over for too long without being in severe pain all this in UK. Anyway keep up with the great videos, and thank you
I have been watching your videos for some time now and I respect you as a true soldier. Your convictions are outstanding. My dad was in the army airborne Sargent first class. He had 17 years in when he was injured in nam. He was the first paraplegic of the Vietnam war in1965. He did two tours in Korea. In 1982 I had the honor of meeting a good friend of my dad. He was a personal driver In Korea for General William C Westmoreland.the only man I have respect for him above any other man except my dad. You are now in that rare list. Good to go. Bye from Oregon
I think this was the first of your videos that I watched, acvouple years ago. Since then, I try to watch them, all. I've hadf some experience with a lot of the things that you do, but I'm not "Experienced" as you are. My wife and I got our pilot's licenses, then we decided to have children -- 20 year chunk of former LIFE EDITED OUT __ Now the kids are grown, and we've retired and moved out to a Rural (Still) 18 acre farm in Bexar County. It's about half primitive woodland. Marvelous. Camping is somewhat impeded by Fire Ants and scorpions. We have tarantulas also, but they don't bother anyone. Lots of downed trees; plenty of firewood. No conifers, though. Also not much cool weather. This summer, we had 42 consecutive 40°C (104+°F) days. No a/c in tent, enough vampire mosquitoes to cause blood loss trauma. Lots of smallish wildlife, coyoties and early on, hogs. My rifle and a thermal scope eliminated our hog infestation, though vigilance is necessary. So your videos are Inspiring, Sir!
I don't think I would like that setup... but I really appreciate you trying it out and giving an honest review. Outstanding video as always CPL Kelly!!!
I really love your videos. I’m glad you mentioned wildlife and wigglies. I was wondering about ticks. How to avoid them etc. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom.
Let me just say your videos are top notch and have really improved over time. Your personality and the educational value is... wait for it... “Outstanding” !! Keep on keeping on and stay safe.💪🏻
As Adam from E2E used to say, "If You're Not Always Prepared, You're Never Prepared."! On that note, I didn't have to rush to the store to horde TP or anything else for this Practice Apocalypse & I think it's been a real wake up to those who aren't even prepared for a blackout snowstorm! Thanks for the videos Dude!
So true. I don't think we Aussies are preppies yet, but lots of us know of 3 days darkness after a big super cold comes. Prophecies. But in the meantime it's great to have blokes like the Corporal huh 👍
State and cities here closed all parks and wilderness areas enjoy your time camping out stay safe and healthy you are doing this for all who cannot go out God Bless you
Thank you so much for the continued commitment to educating others (ie this guy). I’d love to see a video in the coming weeks that touches on bushcraft medicine and 1st aid... something that emphasizes not only wounds and injuries (although that’s always worth repeating), but given the current crisis perhaps you’d be able to address the treatment of infections/viruses? With hospitals being so severely overloaded and under-equipped at the moment, many people are trying (and in some cases, failing tragically) to handle onset symptoms in non-ER settings. I’d love to see/hear more from you and other respected bushcraft channels on this... LoL I’m an old guy with bad lungs, and the local hospital’s parking lot seems quite full these days! :) Thanks again for so much knowledge dropped...
Yeah man almost every weekend I soend a night at my little spot in the woods I learned to make watching your video. So ty. Also i feel like thats the same rake...
Your fire building abilities are simply amazing. It’s all about the prep. Love you videos. Always learn something. Please be safe out there. You and your bacon. Things go better with bacon.
Hi Shawn, Great video as always! I want to thank you, and all of the other “bushcraft” oriented folks on UA-cam for continuing to produce videos. This is what keeps us sane! Thanks again! Stay safe, and well.
You always make me laugh with your humor! The inside jokes go far these days. Thank you for the water tips. I'll be sure to check out the site. You may eventually find a good coffee to enjoy. For an ewok village, you need to check out a British chap I follow. He camps In the tree tops! Hang in there. Better times are just around the bend. Thank you for sharing a part of your day with us!
Excellent video. Not too crazy about the product though personally. The 3 point requirement makes it very difficult, the color has no business being in a forest and the setup takes longer than a typically hammock/tarp setup. The bug out time will be considerably longer too I guess. But it's great that you share all kinds of setups so people can compare. Keep up the good work.
Hey Corporal ❣️ thank you for that EXTRA inspiration. I been camping with my kids and 2 or so extras about 6 or so times over the past 7 years (missed a few during covid though). Been practically begging other family members to join for the fun. FINALLY, this year over Memorial Day weekend we had 4 sites and 5ppl visited for a day on Sunday ❣️❣️❣️❣️ It was "OUTSTANDING". for that day we had 18 total with kids young as 5 years old AND my 15 year old very special needs daughter. I really was in the verge of not inviting people any more. This was a real record breaker for me/us. Logistical issues were present with food and shelter with 2 days off rain... Lol we survived and looking forward to the next one. Oh.. and thanks for all the knot tutorials... My first time using a trucker's hitch in the field... With YOUR ridgeline solution holding 2 tarps... Worked pretty good for a rookie. LOVED IT Dad joke for you: "Can't wait to go on a camping trip again. That last one was really in tents."
Great review and thoughts on the product as always. Awesome comedy. Outstanding cooking idea!! All of that said the best part of the video is you trying to inspire people to be better. Not just at skills but in life. Don’t settle for mediocre or condemn yourself to be miserable. Find something you enjoy and have a passion for it and go for it. Live life don’t let life live you!!! Till the next time sir keep up the great work and keep safe!!!
Awesome, manly rustic scorched coffee cup , Don’t polish it !! Great touch, throwing the tea over your shoulder, burning the box of black tea & going back to the rusty trusty busty coffee !!
As long as you are having fun and enjoying yourself , 1 mile from a road or farm or 10 miles from one , you are in the woods and enjoy your self . and I have been camping in the woods in the past and have cow,/ horse and even a pig walk thru the camp . Enjoy
Have proper coffee, grind fresh roasted coffee beans at home just before you leave for camp, put in ziplock bag or preferably glass container, to make cowboy coffee, put one cup water in pot, put one serving coffee grinds into water in pot, add a pinch of salt, bring it to the boil, 30 seconds to 1 minute bubbling, then remove and pour a little cold water into pot to settle the coffee grounds to the bottom then pour off into drinking cup, enjoy.
Thanks for another look at the outdoors some of us can't get to right now! One thing I really like about your style and presentation is that it's assessable for the average person that doesn't have the money to buy brands or signature gear. If you are like me, you follow favorites and feel that you can trust the dear they choose. Then you click on the link to that bag and find it's $200! Someplace between those budget, Walmart/ dollar store BOB's and the really high end is where most of us live. Like you I work a job that is physical and the need to be practical while preparing my outdoor gear is evident to anybody that has to balance finances with what is really a hobby. I prefer the bushcraft approach, the minimalist gear for a few days going mountain man than worrying about that zombie apocalypse. I find your ideas surprisingly refreshing after so much offered to 'preppers'. It's a common-sense approach that sits well with me!
Love the small Marine corp innuendos you throw in all the time, Semper fi Brother. 1st LAI BN 1988-1992, 1st Rcn BN 1992-1996. Cpl USMC. If your able to try camping in the Adirondack Mountains sometime, best time is late August, early Sept. The prime time is late Oct but you run the risk of being rained on all the time but the foliage is spectacular best in the country.
I really enjoy your videos and they are teaching me a lot. I was wondering if some time you can explain the difference between a bug out bag and a survival/72 hour bag? I'm trying to put one together and could use some advice. Thanks!!
NES cafe house blend is my favorite “Tasters choice” good show brother I look forward to your vids every Sunday afternoon I got out in the field with my Alice pack today and kicked some dirt up it was a great day thank your brother I’m out every weekend.
Would seem your half Windsor is Bond approved... “Bond mistrusted anyone who tied his tie with a (full )Windsor knot. It showed too much vanity. It was often the mark of a cad.” - Ian Fleming, From Russia With Love
That was fun, I particularly liked your Corporal style pizza oven (and the pizza, of course). Outstanding! It’s interesting to pick around in your library.
Amusing to know you get up in the morning, setup the camera, get back in bed and then pretend you just got up. HaHa. I guess that’s why you call it a show. Love your fire setup! I wish it wasn’t still so cold here cuz you make me want to go camping!
Just watching your videos relaxes me... keep it coming! I hope you could do a family or group overnight. What each member should carry and the preparation for a all bacon buffet at night!

I am a big guy who is out in the woods to help me loose some weight. Down 80lbs. sense last year. Your videos are outstanding and continue to inspire me to keep getting out and recently my daughter has started joining me on my trips. Thanks again for your outstanding content.
Thanks for sharing, man. This is awesome, keep it up! 👊
That's awesome. Stay after it!
Hope you're still on a path that you're happy with dude 🙂
Me too, brother. I'm shedding weight.
I have a stroke in 2011 and can only do a little, but I have learn so much from you! My step-father, Top Sergeant Camille D’Hount, was a Marine, did his time Viet Nam. I catch every video you make! GO ON!
I subscribed.. then almost unsubscribed when I saw you making tea! But then you made coffee, and the balance was restored. Great vid!
I’ve had people leave comments saying “I hear a train in the distance, you ain’t that deep in the woods” not realizing that a train can be heard from about 3 to 4 miles away
Great video Sir
Pooter Stomper I don’t think he ever said he was remote anyway. Besides, remote is relative...depends on where you live. If you get to where you can’t see a house or road some places you are doing good. I live where I can easily get 10 miles from the nearest dirt county road and 20 miles from nearest house. Hell, I’ve camped in my backyard in the middle of the city and it’s every bit as difficult in the basic challenges of staying warm and dry. Outside is outside.
@@TFWS6 Yup.. I had a bear in my hot tub. Luckily I was NOT in it. LOL
I didn't see that tea toss and burn coming, I LMAO on that one! especially since I drink more tea then coffee these days. thx for the laugh.

when you brewed the tea I knew something was up....when you threw the tea in the fire I actually laughed out loud. great video dude.
That Corporal's cuppa tea in the morning scene is hilarious, cant stop laughing😂
The Tea Party reference was OUTSTANDING!! Most younger folks might not even GET IT! Ooh Ra!
Was that the 1773 shot out?
That was hilarious. Having said that, the tea's not bad.
The Flag in America is still standing. Let us pray that continues.

Thanks for the refresher on knot tying, didn't realize how rusty my tying skills have become. Outstanding help!
Content is not rushed, and explained thoroughly. Great teaching style. Another great instruction Corporal.
Appreciated, thanks
Yo kelly, if all else fails you could open a restaurant... corporals campfire kitchen!! Menu is your top 10 campfire meals...
You made me take my son and grandkids camping, haven't been in 27yrs but thanks to you I got the bug again, thanks corporal, carry-on

$100.00 for a rake that's been spit on, & $200.00 for one with a strand of hair tied around the handle 😅 JK

I’d love to see/hear more from you and other respected bushcraft channels on this... LoL I’m an old guy with bad lungs, and the local hospital’s parking lot seems quite full these days! :) Thanks again for so much knowledge dropped...
I am not a doctor and will not give advice on how to treat infections on UA-cam.
Thanks for what you do for the viewers Sir!
"You're in a tent, but off the ground. It's like Im in the Ewok Village." Love your commentaries...learning so much from your videos.
Yeah man almost every weekend I soend a night at my little spot in the woods I learned to make watching your video. So ty. Also i feel like thats the same rake...
Another Great Video! Can't wait to try the Double Bacon Cheese Pizza in the woods. Good conversion and great advise! Looking forward to next week.
I truly enjoy your instrucional vids!Thank you!!!
Your fire building abilities are simply amazing. It’s all about the prep. Love you videos. Always learn something. Please be safe out there. You and your bacon. Things go better with bacon.
I think it’s about time for a 12-step bacon addicts program..🥓
Hi Shawn,
Great video as always! I want to thank you, and all of the other “bushcraft” oriented folks on UA-cam for continuing to produce videos. This is what keeps us sane!
Thanks again! Stay safe, and well.
Ewok village camping - the force is strong within you Corporal!
FINALLY, this year over Memorial Day weekend we had 4 sites and 5ppl visited for a day on Sunday ❣️❣️❣️❣️
It was "OUTSTANDING". for that day we had 18 total with kids young as 5 years old AND my 15 year old very special needs daughter. I really was in the verge of not inviting people any more. This was a real record breaker for me/us.
Logistical issues were present with food and shelter with 2 days off rain... Lol
we survived and looking forward to the next one.
Oh.. and thanks for all the knot tutorials... My first time using a trucker's hitch in the field... With YOUR ridgeline solution holding 2 tarps... Worked pretty good for a rookie. LOVED IT
Dad joke for you: "Can't wait to go on a camping trip again. That last one was really in tents."
Corporal's Campfire Pizza...what a concept! I'd like to place an order please!
and Corporal, do you deliver?????
Great review and thoughts on the product as always. Awesome comedy. Outstanding cooking idea!!
All of that said the best part of the video is you trying to inspire people to be better. Not just at skills but in life. Don’t settle for mediocre or condemn yourself to be miserable. Find something you enjoy and have a passion for it and go for it. Live life don’t let life live you!!!
Till the next time sir keep up the great work and keep safe!!!
They nearly had the rainfly of an acceptable color....... and then the binding had to be lime geen.😂
Awesome, manly rustic scorched coffee cup , Don’t polish it !!
Great touch, throwing the tea over your shoulder, burning the box of black tea & going back to the rusty trusty busty coffee !!
This is the first video I've ever seen him do that he didn't thump out his boots before putting them on in the morning.
I laughed when you dissed the bright blue, then put up a neon orange strap. ;)
I loved your Corporal's Tea!
I just did a huge belly laugh at the tea gag, even though I'm a British person who drinks Earl Grey tea.
I am glad your making videos which helps relax us during this crisses, I am glad the competition is open to over seas subscribers as well.
Double bacon everything with this guy🙋♂️
29:20 I think this is the first video of yours that I've watched where you didn't critter check your boots...
Is that a Mandalorian patch on your pack? I've got the same one.
I guess that was corporal`a corner bacon light pizza! More bacon lol. Hope your family remain safe and well!
I really enjoy your videos and they are teaching me a lot. I was wondering if some time you can explain the difference between a bug out bag and a survival/72 hour bag? I'm trying to put one together and could use some advice. Thanks!!
love learning new knots, OUTSTANDING!!!
I'm still waiting on that Corporals Corner Cook Book.
NES cafe house blend is my favorite “Tasters choice” good show brother I look forward to your vids every Sunday afternoon I got out in the field with my Alice pack today and kicked some dirt up it was a great day thank your brother I’m out every weekend.
I like how you touched on identifying wildlife. Do you have a video that goes in depth on this topic?
Boston Tea Party....I got a good laugh out of that!! Love your vids Brother!! Retired Army Tanker here.....Awesome stuff!!
Would seem your half Windsor is Bond approved... “Bond mistrusted anyone who tied his tie with a (full )Windsor knot. It showed too much vanity. It was often the mark of a cad.”
- Ian Fleming, From Russia With Love
Great fireside chat Cpl.! You're motivating me to get back in shape, expand my skills and get back to the woods...... long overdue, brother.
Hey. I quit house living 2 years ago. Dropped from 320lbs to 220lbs.
That was fun, I particularly liked your Corporal style pizza oven (and the pizza, of course). Outstanding! It’s interesting to pick around in your library.
Corporals Pizza, do you deliver? Great video; I wish you had shown the cooking. How did you tell when it was done?
Amusing to know you get up in the morning, setup the camera, get back in bed and then pretend you just got up. HaHa. I guess that’s why you call it a show. Love your fire setup! I wish it wasn’t still so cold here cuz you make me want to go camping!
Jack Duncan called a remote
Corporals Corner Wow! Ain’t technology something! Wish I had one to light the burner under my coffee pot in the morning!
@@recall5811 hope u check the boots fore you put yer foots in em...
Your Logo should definitely have Bacon and maybe a side of Ham. :-)
Lol love it! Corporal Chevrons made from bacon??
Just watching your videos relaxes me... keep it coming! I hope you could do a family or group overnight. What each member should carry and the preparation for a all bacon buffet at night!
How...in the Hell...could someone down vote this video. Makes no sense to me.
