(7 Moves become stale (less damage and knockback) the more you use them. (8 Ledge Trump = Grabbing ledge right after an opponent to force them off. Dash towards ledge, then half circle (upwards) to instantly ledge Trump. You can prevent being Ledge Trumped by buffering any action. (9 A Two Frame is when a character has 2 frames of vulnerability when first grabbing the ledge. You can do a fake out on some special moves by holding up then releasing at any time when trying to recover against a Ledge Trumper. This will make them grab the ledge first so that you can Trump them instead. (10 Reset: If your opponent doesn’t tech, you can go in to reset them by hitting them which will force them to roll, attack, or stand. You can only reset them twice. They will bounce, then you can start a combo or a quick smash attack. Or you can reset them twice and try to predict what they will do next (roll, attack, or stand) and punish them for that. (11 A Tomahawk Grab is preformed when you pressure your opponent with aggressive aerials to bring out their shield. After doing this a few times, you can instead jump and fast-fall to grab them while they’re shielding your fake aerial.
Do you mind if I take and apply these notes? I've been trying to understand and improve on the game recently but all the information is a bit overwhelming when thrown at me all at once. This would really help me

Worth noting that there's now a limit to how many times you can grab the ledge. I think the limit's five. If you grab the ledge 5 times without getting hit or landing, your character will not grab a 6th time. I found this out the hard way playing as Kirby. Great work IzawSmash. You and the Beefy Smash Doods are the best resources to turn to for learning the game in more detail IMO.
Re-learning Ultimate is gonna be my resolution for 2019. I keep accidentally trying to play this game like Smash 4 Wii U. These videos will definitely help.
It has been a very long time for me. I just got ultimate and man am I having trouble adjusting to Smash again. I love it and is one of the few Nintendo games I truly love. This game is so insanely complicated...I hope I can get back into it.
I've been playing Smash for years (not competitively tho LOL) and I didn't know DI had that much to it. Thank you so much for making such an awesome guide! :D
last time I checked, air dodge into the stage to live longer depends on the character and does work with most of them as a better option than double jumping
I didn't own a Wii or Wii U, but I used to think I was good at Smash because I played thousands of hours of casual 64 and Melee back in the day. Then, as the release of Ultimate got closer, I started watching videos by Smash pros on it and, having never watched a single competitive Smash match in my life, everything out of their mouth sounded like arcane gibberish. Now this "Art of Smash Ultimate" series has confirmed to me that I might as well have never played Smash in my life. The sheer amount of mechanics and concepts I had zero idea about is fascinating and extremely daunting.

how do you practice these? like are there any excersizes for practicing?
Ur videos helped me get soooo much better, even with the characters I was struggling with. Thx
This is a very well made video and exactly what I was looking for. YOU'RE THE MAN!
Worth noting that there's now a limit to how many times you can grab the ledge. I think the limit's five. If you grab the ledge 5 times without getting hit or landing, your character will not grab a 6th time. I found this out the hard way playing as Kirby.
Great work IzawSmash. You and the Beefy Smash Doods are the best resources to turn to for learning the game in more detail IMO.
just not starting to play smash and these videos are super helpful, cant wait to slide everyone with villager
Phenomenal video. High quality stuff, would and will reccomend.
I've been playing Smash for years (not competitively tho LOL) and I didn't know DI had that much to it. Thank you so much for making such an awesome guide! :D
I can't wait for Izaw to make every character in Ultimate look broken.
One hell of a guide man. Learned a ton, thanks!
Where have you been all my life christ. This is really good
anyone know the soundtrack playing at 1:48 onwards? thanks in advance
and you can DI ledgetrumps and you can't tech grounded spikes
amazing video as always. cant wait to learb about buffer moves, ty so much for your effort
Yay! I've been waiting for this! Thanks for the info my dude!
I only got into smash, your guides really help. Keep up the good work.
I instantly got better just watching. Thanks so much
Love the new intro it's sick af
last time I checked, air dodge into the stage to live longer depends on the character and does work with most of them as a better option than double jumping
Even in 2021 these still hold as the best tutorials imo.
8:00 what song is this?
It seems to be a faster remix of the song snake eater
I didn't own a Wii or Wii U, but I used to think I was good at Smash because I played thousands of hours of casual 64 and Melee back in the day. Then, as the release of Ultimate got closer, I started watching videos by Smash pros on it and, having never watched a single competitive Smash match in my life, everything out of their mouth sounded like arcane gibberish.
Now this "Art of Smash Ultimate" series has confirmed to me that I might as well have never played Smash in my life. The sheer amount of mechanics and concepts I had zero idea about is fascinating and extremely daunting.
I felt like this back in smash 4 when smash UA-camrs started getting popular
I had e problem with the combo I didn’t understand so recherche and I found your video and I learned a lot of smash bros thank you
Your French is showing
Yes lol
But try my best lol
3:50 In previous iterations G&W could cancel some momentum with down B
Another great video! This covered so much that I didn’t know about! :D
An Izaw I'm following you since Brawl. Linkageddon and all your Link Content was amazing back then and now many years later you make this fantastic guides. You're a great content creator! Greetings from Austria!
