back when zero made his guide on what his controls were, he actually said he has 2 different buttons for shield because when he holds both at the same time, he can move his shield freely
On tip 15, it's also worth mentioning that the average reaction time to auditory stimulus is faster than that of visual stimulus. Just another reason to play using game audio.
It’s great to see you giving even better and more specific advice it seems you took leffens criticism to heart and I can’t wait to see how you keep improving and changing your content
Tobyn Naylor he streamed his reaction to the how to fight every character video and disproved lots of the mistakes in the video and gave him some conservative criticism
@@Sillybird-zl7px pretty sure when you say "disproved lots of mistakes" you mean, "corrected errors" or "pointed out mistakes". I'm also pretty sure you meant "constructive" criticism. Leffen had valid points... but some things he said were straight up wrong as well.
2:15 So, G5 actually covered this “tech” and actually it makes you die SOONER, So bassicly what happens is that when you Directional air dodge, your character actually goes the oppisite direction of what direction you inputed [only happens for a few frames] although its only a few frames, the little push can be enough to put you in the blastzone, Also, about low knockback moves that send of stage, sure, why not, but the examples shown in video are air dodging right at the blastzone, which is worse than just DI’ng or jumping
It happens on specific attacks with alot of hitstun and most killing options will let you move before the max knockback happens (hope this makes sense)
I'm pretty sure Smash's default control scheme has always had 2 buttons mapped to to shield. Beginners might not have adjusted the default control settings, so this would be more likely to apply to them.
Don't apologize for the "how to fight everyone" video. Like seriously, you are fine. You made a short video for a 70+ character game, if anyone honestly thought you would be perfect or not be making generalizations, they are dumb. Also just b/c Leffen says you're wrong, doesn't mean you are. I watched his video and I thought half of his counter points were wrong, some of this is opinions, not fact, after all
Most of his points were actually fair, and I dislike Leffen. Some were his opinions, but not a lot of times on a one hour video which I watched entirely.
I think your videos are some of the most fun, while simultaneously being some of the most informative. As far as I'm concerned, you are one of the best smash UA-cam channels in existence. Thanks for all the hard work, my man
Small but important correction about tip 13, specifically how it relates to Joker: Universally, grabbing after an attack hits your shield takes an additional 4 frames. This means that Joker's grab OOS to punish daisy Fair is 10 frames, not 6 as the video implies. I actually often times will intentionally turn around and shield with my backside to get bair OOS because it has a godlike hitbox despite the startup. The reason the grab worked and the bair didn't is because peach/daisy fair is -8 done perfectly, but shield is the character's only frame 1 option, so grab beats shield (duh), jump (universal 3f jump squat), spot-dodge/rolls (not active until frame 3 or later), and maybe dash back (Idk about this for sure, but I think it's likely). Jab is frame 2 though so a frame-perfect fair > jab should trade. Love your content btw
I have been playing smash consistently as like a hobby since august 2019. I am not the best nor the worst i dont think but i am very grateful for all the knowledge you share. Its hard to get good advice from people i know without harsh criticisms or embarrassment and its nice to see people online be so kind about being a beginner and are willing to give advice. Thank you!
Hey my man, I'm also a Utah Yoshi main. Definitely not as good as you, but your videos really are a huge help. I have a pesky falco main friend who I rarely beat.
Aside from Inkling thing, there's one thing in here I believe to be an inaccuracy: While directional air dodging can help you recovery, you should be careful while doing it close to the blastzone, because if you directional air dodge to the left, the beginning of the animation moves you to the right. Therefore directional air dodging away from a blastzone can make you die when you otherwise wouldn't.

I loved the video like usual but according to ultimate frame data, doesn't shield grab after shieldstun take 10 frames, which is the same as bair OOS? I'm talking about the 5:30-5:53 section. But subtle turn around to shield works a lot, I guess, because opponents don't expect a grab.

A very good exception to 13 is Snake. You’ll want to b reverse your grenades on stage before shielding so that your opponent is much more likely to hit them if they approach with a hitbox. Also, back air comes out much faster than forward air, and you can true combo it out of grenade explosions at lower percents.

Actually jump is what does this
It happens on specific attacks with alot of hitstun and most killing options will let you move before the max knockback happens (hope this makes sense)
If you go on a horizontal direction. But if you use a diagonal airdodge, you can survive longer
Just a heads-up: You can angle shield by holding two shield buttons at once, and it works with Inkling too!
