Some additional notes about Peach's double jump:
    - If you double jump on the first frame you're airborne, and then hold down to float, you will end up floating at exactly ground level. This is much lower than a standard float you get from holding down and jump, and it allows you to land with quick nairs even faster than a normal float. It also lets you ASDI down into the ground while you are airborne. This is incredibly powerful because you get the benefits of being airborne (fast aerials, land cancels on moves like Falco and Falcon dair) while ALSO being able to ASDI down. Peach players call this a *subfloat*.
    - The other great part about that double jump on the first frame is that you can do it with direction. You can run to the right, double jump to the left, and then hold down to float, and what will happen is that you will take all of the momentum from double jumping left with you in your float. You can use this to gain speed incredibly quickly, as well as instantly change direction like a wavedash while going airborne instantly actionable. Peach players call this a *hyperfloat*. Here's an example of peach player Quetzalcoatl using a hyperfloat to quickly punish his opponent: ua-cam.com/video/h879kV4VBbE/v-deo.html

0:30 I actually think Samus might be able to make it tbh. Since pichu was allowed specific conditions, I think if you do a daughter dash AKA goomy zoomy you can get crazy horizontal speed, and then you double jump -> rising grapple -> let go of grapple -> up-b. Now, I don't know if you can goomy zoomy while facing backwards so maybe you might have to do a CS turnaround but it still looks do-able IMO. IDK just theory crafting.

I’ve never had an interest in Smash beyond my casual experience with Melee. The presentation of this video makes it fascinating. I don’t think there’s a topic I wouldn’t watch a video about if it was presented like this. Love it.

Please never use those AI interpolated frames when showing slow motion frame by frame stuff, not only does it look bad it is also confusing and distracting for something that should just be a simple frame by frame advance. (talking about 4:37) otherwise very interesting video!

This is my first time watching one of your videos, and cutting the fodder characters from the ones that can make the jump. Getting straight into the science of it all, great video editing, great conclusion, and thanking your people at the end is top notch.

Two of the three best editors I’ve seen on UA-cam make melee content. You and asumsaus are neck and neck. Melee has some voodoo to attract talented people.

Gosh, I remember testing this stuff back in the day (before the wave dash, even). Thanks for sharing how competitive skills are used for the silliest stunt in the game.
And the production skills, holy heck!!

it went from "who can make the jump" to a physics lesson about double jumps without me even realizing

I don't know how to play melee, idk even have any experience playing any smash in general but the storytelling, editing, and narration tells such a clean and fluid presentation that I just kept watching. Keep it up man!

VERY high quality video! I love how you showed all of the other characters attempting it, each with a cool silhouette :)

I heard the song “extend” at the end, and before I even knew that, I was like “I need to Shazam this”. Came to find it dropped literally 4 days ago. Came to find out YOU PRODUCED THE WHOLE VIDEO ST!!! You are doing what most content creators can’t: everything.
Edit: AND HE’S A KILLER GRAPHIC DESIGNER

The fact that it is so easy for Mewtwo to make the jump proves that genetics is the solution to every human problem.
    Edit: I am joking.

I've been playing melee competitively for 10 years and so most of the things you explained are not new to me, such Peach's double jump auto land on platform and using djc fair to pull back. But I had no idea about Mewtwo's djc leading to increased height in his ascent! That is so cool, and it makes Mewtwo kills where he utilizes that look even sicker to me. You learn something new about melee everyday.

Finally a jump video where OP actually explains and tries every character to the full potential.
So many content farm videos out here basically ignoring half the roster because it was made by a smash player who doesn't actually play the game.
