First thing is that there is no documentation online, but you could say that's because "it's a developer build" but why would a developer upload this to an archive site anonymously. And further on that- why were some of these interesting features not added to the game. Also those 'Steve bots'- sure the movements are erratic, but I don't see why they would develop that feature. It feels very out of place for 2011 Minecraft.
Mods and actual game code are the same thing - additions to the game code. Stuff that you see released is just workshopped and tested/polished further. A buggy unfinished hack feature is the same as an unpolished mod. A sufficiently polished mod that is vanilla-friendly is basically the same as an update (except for distribution of course). I am a programmer and modder, and this is a healthier way to look at mods vs. updates IMO.
The pickaxe Steves are wild to me. I already knew about the old human mob, but these ones seem a lot more advanced and interesting, making it even more surprising to me that I've never heard anyone cover them. Great video as always; keep up the grind to 700k!
There's also a hostile version in the code, which is presumably still in the source code today, but just gets removed automatically during obfuscation. You know what else is similar to a hostile player, but is removed in every update? HEROBRINE!

I used to collect Jar files and have some insane ones. The problem is its on my old laptop that is fried. I am 100% sure that I have some of the missing since I was doing it from the couple months of the game release until late betas. I still have that laptop so if I was computer smart, I could probably get those files. But also I am very computer dumb, so I cant lol. I also still have my Xperia play. I was one of the first 100 people to get one haha. I am deep into minecraft as you can see

if youre interested in sharing those files, i would caution against sending the laptop to anyone shady. instead, find a local computer repair place, and bring your current device as well. simply tell them your old laptop is dead, but you want the files put on your new one. if the data is still there, it shouldnt be complicated for them to recover it. not sure about your area, but the repair shop in my town would do it for under 100 dollars if the hard drive is entirely intact.

I have a server recommendation for you to grief or dupe items on its a very ptw server although the mods are not very good at doing their job the server is Netherite smp it's an American server that averages 240 players and some more important information is that only 1 moderator is on and their name is ign Okit for lifesteal the others I dont know since I only got to that gamemode. The ranks can cost 5 dollars all the way to 300 dollars and crates are very expensive almost 13 bucks for one crate. There's also a new crate every 3 weeks to unlock like a fire crate or a knight crate, stuff like that. This server also has lots of gamemodes the one im talking about is life steal which is the one I think you should dupe on (My opinion). Which averages 70-100 players at daytime
The code being deobfuscated is huge. It's literally the source code. You can't fake that, if you did you would have to complete remake Minecraft and recompile while obfuscation off, fake the file times and everything. The valid cert is just the cherry on top of the mountain of evidence.

If you have a pc currently you can always remove the HDD from your laptop and plug it into your computer
