@@Solutra I've made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement, and I don’t expect to be forgiven, I'm simply here to apologize. So what we came across that day in the woods was obviously unplanned, and the reactions you saw on tape were raw, they were unfiltered. None of us knew how to react, or how to feel. I should have never posted the video. I should have put the cameras down and stopped recording what we were going through. There's a lot of things I should have done differently but I didn’t, and for that, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry. I want to apologize to the Internet. I want to apologize to anyone who's seen the video. I want to apologize to anyone who has been affected or touched by mental illness, or depression, or suicide, but most importantly, I want to apologize to the victim and his family. For my fans who are defending my actions, please don't. They do not deserve to be defended. The goal with my content is always to entertain, to push the boundaries, to be all inclusive in the world I live in. I share almost everything I do. The intent is never to be heartless, cruel, or malicious. Like I said, I've made a huge mistake. I don't expect to be forgiven, I'm just here to apologize. I'm ashamed of myself. "We apologize for the inconvenience" is God's final message to His creation, written in giant flaming letters, in the series of books The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
"All these worlds are yours except Europa" is from 3001: The Final Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke.
The buried bones and rotten flesh would be a reference to Secret Window, a movie based on a book by Stephen King where a man murders and buries his wife in the garden underneath his window, and grows vegetables on that soil. 6:16 the sign that says "this is not a sign" has an apparent connection to the End Poem. it repeatedly mentions that the player 'interprets' that part of the game as "reading words on a screen". it can even be said that the main theme of the entire poem is the concept that the player isnt playing a game in any objective sense, but is rather interpreting the universe as though it were a game within the real world

I’ve been waiting FOREVER for somebody to do a deep dive on the discoveries of this Minecraft version. Thank you dude!
Interestingly enough I haven't seen anyone suggest trying the world "Europa" since it was referenced in the final line.
It really does feel like there's a bit more to this we still don't realize, there are so many references to things and weird little oddities that all just seem to have no end point. Of course it could be just that the dev was having fun and just including references to things that he likes, but some of those worlds really do seem to border on cosmic horror.
I'd say that the worlds Isolation and Llama are great examples of ones that definitely have a foot over that line, but seeing as Minecraft's only real "horror" elements are the absoluteness of your solitude, and the complete lack of explanation as to why you exist and what your goal is, I would say that he captured the magic perfectly. It gives me nostalgia for the days when I was a very dumb child, wandering the internet for information on the elusive "Herobrine."
Thanks for covering this, I needed to see that the mysterious depths of a video game made to induce a feeling of child-like wonder can also exhume fears from a part of myself I had forgotten. This game will always feel weirdly haunted, and not even in a supernatural way. It feels haunted by the past, by memories, friendships gone, and mysteries we never had the chance to solve.
Now instead of Herobrine in my world, I find myself doing things that are ingrained in my muscle memory. I forget that I do them, until I stumble across them again, and realize where the idea came from. Instead of some ethereal ghost of some guy, it's haunting memories of the past, lost now to the sands of time.
I miss those days. Thank you again.

The world of "Content" Is basically a Clone of Skyblock, a popular map/challenge wherein you survive in a void-like world on a floating island with a single tree and a chest of items. The reference in the name "content" is to how so many content creators on youtube and Twitch have done a Skyblock series since its inception, either Vanilla or some Modded variant.
Bro people know that the video even states it are you slow
It could be Content, like in being satisfied.
@@SilvaRings this seems more likely
In the pattern world I believe the dots and dashes could be Morse code.
In the origin world the lines are reminiscent of the structure block bounding box. (I don’t know if the structure block is in Java, but I have it on bedrock and pocket.)
The notes world gave me a sense of being watched by an invisible thing. Note blocks need a player to interact with it. Giving the world an uneasy feeling.
The library, a library of worlds with no one to read them, with stories written by the universe itself…
Take the first letter of every block in the jumbled inventory and see if there is a message.
Also the jumbled text appears in pocket edition somewhere else, I took a screenshot of it.
While your world is loading in pocket edition you are greeted with fun facts like the number of tropical fish variants. or it shows you the status of your world, like “building terrain”.
But in this case it read this mystery: “the world of Minecraft is endlessly surprising, you’ll find lots of different plants animals, plants, and even **** ****” (the asterisks representing the ever shifting letters.)
Hope the information proves intriguing and useful.
It is not letting me edit the comment for some reason, but the shifting letters were actually: **** ****, two four letter words.
8:35 Langton's ant ruleset was a bit incorrect. It's:

Otherwise you wouldn't get any vertical movement.

it feels to me that many people share this sentiment, but there's not really a community around it? like, we even have a bunch of youtube content actually doing what you're talking about, but it never has been a popular thing really? it feels like a thing that just occasionally pops up without anyone making a big deal out of it even though it is a big deal

"Capture those pesky modders" is more interesting than you'd think.
Given that Microsoft is now aiming to make Bedrock modders make Bedrock add-ons instead, turning them into paid content, while also making it much more difficult to actually make mods for Bedrock. "Capture those pesky modders" is perhaps just an interesting coincidence, but maybe its a hint from years ago, pointing towards what microsoft is now trying to do.
how are they making it more difficult to actually make mods for java?
Mods are getting easier and easier to create on Java, as game's code (and it's moddability) has massively improved over the years.
@@PatboxThey banned mods on bedrock.
@@jonashoffmann9344 But that has nothing to do with java? Through they didn't technically ban bedrock modding, just made it harder due to not releasing official mappings. Through it would be possible to replace that, as Java didn't get official mappings for long time (and just made their own)
Bok himself has developed mods. It's very likely just a joke about himself.
"We apologise for the inconvenience" is a reference to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, being God's final message to his creations. This also matches with the 42 dimensions you can visit excluding the secret one, as 42 is the answer to life, the universe and everything according to the book.

It's honestly just a metaphor about existence. We are all stuck inside our consciousness (our tiny room) with absolutely no way out into the consciousnesses of other people. You'll never feel what I feel, you'll never enter my room. In fact, from your perspective there might as well just exist a single room in the entire universe (that's the philosophy known as solipsism), there is no way to prove that any other room exists. Even if other rooms exist, you'll never be able to find them. You might be trying to communicate with people around you (that's the philosophical concept known as intersubjectivity), but all you can do is throw your messages in bottles to the sea and hope someone reads them. Maybe every now and then you receive some stimuli that look like messages hinting to the existence of other consciousness, but it could just as well be the result of random chance or purely mechanical processes in the soulless brains of other flesh automata. That's what communication is: blindly flailing our arms at each other in pitch darkness while hoping that our fingers will touch. And if maybe they do at some point, all you can get from it is "maybe", all meaning you assign to that communication is pure speculation.
@@Ashbakhaaz a whole new perspective. thank you
As someone who used to be active in the MCC discord/community, the footprint particle is more or less an inside joke where we would keep asking for footprints to be added back to the game. Bob woke up and chose violence

A quick note about cellular automata, it's incredibly difficult to prove any rule that produces a complex behavior holds true forever. It's a continuous simulation whose starting environment can be totally randomized on an infinite 2d surface. Another issue is the halting problem. Writing a program that can determine if another program will loop infinitely given an input isn't possible. The program being tested could eventually break out of the loop anytime, unfortunately that time could be in 10 billion years.

It's called Swedish Rapsody and it was operated by Polish Secret Police and Intelligence.
The voice is synthesised using a Sprach-Morse-Generator (look it up on YT), these were made in the GDR.
Second one is called Three Note Oddity, and it's been linked to Hungary - for me these three notes sound like 'Kein Anschluss unter dieser Nummer' signal, it was heard when you dialed a wrong number on a landline telephone.
What got me was how they were kinda like the radio broadcast in the game signalis. Its probably not connected but it’s a cool thought to me.

Calling this version "forgotten" makes me feel so old - again. I've been playing this just yesterday xD
Edit: The "strange noise" is actually the sound you got in Germany when you called a number that was not available, right before the voice of a lady informed you that the number you called was not available. :) The child's voice is also just counting from 1 to 10 in German; so is the very rough voice before the English counting.
And yes, that "düü düüü DÜÜÜÜ" - sound WAS very unsettling because it meant you were standing in a coin phone booth at the end of nowhere and somehow managed to forget the number you were supposed to call to pick you up... Or is that just me? xD
I never thought minecraft could give me an existential crisis
27:37 that's the classical sound you used to hear in germany on the telephone when trying to call an invalid phonenumber it would play that soundeffect and then say with a recorded voice in german "Kein Anschluss unter dieser Nummer." (No connection by/with/under that number) also weird with the little girl counting in german, always pausing a little between 5 and 6.
Just tried it and wrote "Kein Anschluss unter dieser Nummer" into a book and threw it in the portal. Am greeted by a Dimension made off dark wood planks, starting chests as common as grass, lots of lava with what appears to be built tridents in the sky pointing towards one direction while there seem to be numerous withers spawning.
I have never heard of this Minecraft version before. It is so cool to type in random words and be teleported to a randomly generated place that would never show up in vanilla Minecraft. I could play around with it all day!

I liked how at about 23:00 it started to feel like a Stanley Parable ending
A developer turning the most popular game of all time into an experimental ARG with references to Borges, vector mathematics, and numbers stations is absolutely incredible
22:59 seems you’re a math major, or you recently took linear algebra. Either way I love it - genuinely took me by surprise and I loved it. Thanks for showing a large subset of people the fun of math :)
As a SIGNALIS fan, hearing the Three Note Oddity and Conet Project recordings was very odd while watching a Minecraft video, lol.
Remember your Promise Steve
Perhaps, this is the Nether.
My eyes lit up as soon as I heard that first note 😂
I knew they were familiar
This has gotta be one of my new favorite videos of yours, and i cant explain why. I wonder if anything will get "Solved" enough to follow with a comment or video 🤔
18:50 😂 Bob has TangoTek’s sword!
28:23 "The numbers, Mason... What do they mean?"
"I KEEP HEARING THE FU----- NUMBERS!"
Honestly this was really neat and fascinating, it seems like they were developing some new way to generate worlds with key words and phrases like an experiment.
And here I was thinking I was gonna go to bed on schedule
🤣
@@jaybro65 Nice profile pic btw
Oh ty bro! I'm a fan of Wall•E lol
27:20 wait a minute he is counting in german! eins zwo drei vier... what the
ja
ayup
If only Mojang put that much effort into their actual updates 😭🙏🏽
19:32 It's a prebuilt world / a prebuilt structure. It's easier to just put items in the chest rather than creating a random chest with a loot table when that's not really necessary
19:42 As you saw in the beginning of the video the bookshelves get their book data from their position. I imagine because the world is prebuilt and they spawn in the same position, they also have the same colors always.
Making a playthrough in the library or gallery dimension sounds really cool (with some cheats done to make it possible)
I clicked this video with almost no interest, but somehow you managed to make me intrigued and to think about something so simple as a Minecraft April fools update
im intrested in puh
18:00 Oh thats where my dogs went
No way
I kind of wonder what the scrambled words in the end credits mean. If they can be unscrambled like the words in the books can, then that might be a cool idea for your next video.
They all have no text, any instance of the scrambled text in the end poem is just either "§f§k§a§b§3" or "§f§k§a§b§2" in the actual file, which is just more formatting codes, with no actual text in them.
§f - makes the text white
§k - scrambles the text
§a - makes the text green
§b - makes the text teal
§3 / §2 - returns the text to either dark green or dark teal depending on which person is speaking in the poem.
@@EriksGarbage Interesting.
If you have ever eaten a peach, you have eaten something that had the potential to become heavier than billions of suns
15:10 Dull purple? I worry one of us is colourblind.
microsoft paint calls the color "light blue," ColorblindGamingNow confirmed
Maybe not. Dull is a weird way to describe it, but I have seen purple skies in Minecraft at high y-levels. The purple sky begins at about y=2000, and the colour remains constant above y=3000.
these responses are very interesting 🤔 msp calling it light blue, yet "purple skies" being an existing phenomenon in the game...
I didnt even know this version hid so many easter eggs and lore
A great gold mine aye?
