I really hope Aston martin can deliver throughout the season with consistent upgrades that work unlike last season; id rather them improve through the season and not drop off
Except with Lance they’ve got no chance of getting into the Top Four.
Swaping out lance for a more talented driver would do wonders for the team

The problem is that they don't have a really fast drive like the top 4

I think AM is very tight with Mercedes and Mclaren but also they have a lot of room of improvement I think their concept is strong.
The Merc may not be bouncing down the straights anymore but they are bouncing like crazy at mid-corner through the exit.
They really not. They are just bottoming out.
@@SwaggySimon20 They are bouncing and bottoming out. Some of the bounces do not create sparks from striking the track.
@@AndyFromBeaverton no they did not bounce what you are talking about is common on bahrain circuit on a couple of corners there are massive bumps and when you drop the car extremely low you open yourself to bounces it has nothing to do with their car but the fact that this bahrain track has never been resurfaced
I agree. Mercedes should be fighting Aston Martin for 4th best team
@@alexcepile1420 that would be redbull
People are saying AM are on par with Ferrari, Merc look strong in some areas and McLaren have lots of potential. Alpine rlly disappoint me. If you see last season, AM changed 95% of their car and it was clearly visible, plus the car looked actually fast. Now alpine apparently changed 95% of their car and it doesn’t look revolutionary - if anything it has made the car worse
I’d not be surprised if Williams surpass Alpine. Tbh, if Williams get 6th or higher they may be in a position to get a really good driver to replace Logan. Maybe Sainz for example.
@@gameofender4463i don’t think Williams will replace their academy driver Vowels speaks highly of Sargent so if he performs well he’s staying at Williams
@@slay3r930 But if Logan underdelivers and Williams look stronger. It’d make to sense to bring in better drivers which would solidify their position of being in the Top Six.
@@gameofender4463Let’s hope that Logan doesn’t under deliver. He definitely has it in him to perform, but sadly most people want to watch him burn so that their favorite F2 driver gets a chance

I like the change you made with this video, compared to your previous top 10's. This one has a better flow to it and i had to pay a little bit more attention. I often put your video's on while i am doing something else. But because there was a good natural flow to it and no hard cuts i had to pay attention because i did not know wen the next team was gonna be mentioned. Also i like the minimalist style of this video. Just a little box in the corner with the most important information and that it.

A team that doesn't even bother to do any glory runs... that should tell us that they are so confident, they did not even need to see the full potential to know where they stand.
I am surprised this aspect of Ferrari testing doesn't have people skeptical about them. Sure they looked good, but seems like it was sorta glory running a bit.
@@stormsj Well, i did not mean Ferrari ;) but they do look pretty good, i hope they can bring the fight to the team i was aiming at ;)
@@j0hnn13K glory running on old C3s? Haha...ok. I am just not sure Ferrari will be best of the rest like everyone else. MB seemed to be holding cards close to chest. McLaren and AM could be closer to Ferrari even than testing times suggest I figure. Ferrari looked the the most showy I figure.
@@stormsj i think RB most definitely have been holding back, Ferrari did look good in long runs and i do not think they held back a whole lot, Mercedes... look ok, but i do not think they will be fighting for wins a lot, maybe on some tracks, AM.. i could not get a real read on them, did they show their pace, did they sandbag? could be either.
McLaren.. i really hope they held back.
The rest? they should provide a good midfield battle, but podium places seem out of reach unless something happens that basically throws a podium at one of them.
Haas... let's not talk about Haas lol
@@j0hnn13K I don't even know that it's that others were holding back. Just Ferrari seemed to show boating a bit on C4 and C5 more than others and such. Midfielders were doing that more like them...but top teams seemed to be more focused on running C3 and just getting new car config where they want it.
I repeat you'll be stunned by the Aston Martin performance. Its much above 5.
i think people are massively overrating RB just because you get your parts from redbull does not mean suddenly a donkey can win in a horse race, its still the same alphatauri that looked horrible last idk how many years
People are rating them strongly because their car was _so_ much better in the final quarter of the season. They went from around the slowest, to easily being the fastest of the 6-10 pack (Alpine, Williams, Sauber, Haas, RB).
And what are you talking about “have looked bad for how IDK how many years”? It was what 3 seasons ago that Gasly was qualifying 5th at almost every race? Are you new to F1?
@@The_ZeroLine qualifying 5th has nothing to do with how good or bad the car is, alpine last 9 years have finished a whole 2.5 positions above alphatauri on average so when i say horrible they were literally finishing 9th in constructors when gasly was there behind haas
@@RehanX44 yeah they qualify very slightly higher than RB but in the race they lose those positions pretty much instantly, even still comparing the two teams is like comparing a tractor to an old beat up pick up truck, both are very slow but one is better than the other
Think too many people have written off the Williams, so far the only thing Alex Albon has said about the 2024 car is that it's fast and different. That sound's pretty promising to me, if it is actually as fast as hinted it won't take long for Alex to sort of the handling and it could be top of the midfield cars who have looked lackluster.
Yeah they're way off on williams. They'll be P6 at worst.
God I can't wait for next weekend!
I'm a McLaren fan, but I'd just like to point out that the team know the direction they're going in with their package plus the team have a history of playing down expectations. I think once they've ironed out some of their issues, they'll be just fine.
Ferrari however I hope can challenge Red Bull! We need a proper championship fight this season, not a coronation!
They are 4th they are draggy on the straights and tyre deg is more than affected
@@jb-y1487 Well lets see how the car looks next weekend before we jump to any conclusions.
People jumping into conclusions after simple and basic non pushing tests. McLaren ended last year on a high note to simply go backwards now. They will be up there and in front of Mercedes.
At the start of the season I imagine it’ll be:
1st: Red Bull
2nd: Ferrari
3rd: Mercedes
4th: McLaren
5th: Aston
6th: VCARB
7th: Alpine
8th: Williams
9th: Sauber
10th: Haas
AMUS believe Alpine are the slowest car, slower than even Haas.
Alpine 7th is bold
I still can't believe it's called VCARB
I believe vcarb will be quick just have that feeling, possible above McLaren
I actually think ferrari might be closer to redbull than mercedes are to ferrari
Alpine was slow last year too and claimed they were holding back. Anyway, it really is crazy how if you go back and watch races from 20 years ago, you’ll see common core chassis characteristics for each teams have remained.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Merc start slow but will ramp up/improve fast as the season goes on. As it’s basically a basic version of the car with room for lots of improvement.
You saw what merc can do with there number 2 driver ham would have be faster that Russell merc are ahead of Aston

@@gameofender4463 I think they might overtake the likes of Ferrari or McLaren, but I doubt they will get closer to RB. They have a new concept as well so logic dictates that there is still room for improvement and Newey just seems to understand ground effect aero on a different level than others.
A Dutch commentator speculated that the air inlets that go over the top and direct the air in between the floor and the rearwing is like an upside down double blown diffuser. If that's true than it's game over for the competition.

Aston should be WAAAY higher. Like 3rd. Goatlonsos race pace and tyre deg was stunning, and i think they re sandbagging a lot. And unlike McLaren, they said that they re statisfied with the progress of the AMR24
McLaren never seem to be satisfied with themselves though, always playing down their potential.

1:29 for a Time Number 2 Driver I think we got something up our hands. Weather if we do get our Hopes up Ferrari I think might have a better package but this time they will be better prepared to fight for a Championship since 2022 Charles got trigger happy nervous just listened to team orders that blew the Championship now I think Charles is understanding Ferrari's plans and developing into him. No matter how much we Clown on Ferrari we focus on the mentally of the drivers of how they can improve year after year. Max's Mentally is to never claim down form a race just keep doing what you doing to get the best possible results without getting too mad because his focus is to drive and to be patient if there is a problem. Carlo's Strategy Masterclass won him 2 races as his focus was on to defend position until it was not worth it for the team because he said ferrari is not better than me which is a statement that won him 2022 British Grand prix
Cross my fingers for a great season for Alonso and Aston Martin.

I think to have 2 back to back seasons where williams doesnt finish last is what would be described as " great susccess"
I don’t think sacrificing straight line speed was he best move for them, that’s always been their big advantage over their rivals
Besides RB obviously being strong and Ferrari being better than last season, it doesn’t seem like much has changed in the pecking order, which is no great surprise. I am praying AM will be stronger this year.
I think 9th for Williams is a bit low, probably will be around 7th
Other than Red Bull's amazing pace, they showed really low tyre deg as well. If this is a sign of things to come I think Max will win the wdc by 300 points again this year
I think with Mclaren its a track that doesn't suit their car that well and is an incredibly high degradation track, take with that Oscars biggest weakness last year being his thre management and i am positively optimistic about their their performance
yh i think if piastri can do a bit better with tyre management and mclaren adjust the car to compromise, it might sort the problem temporarily. should be a good season for them though
then they should've built a all purpose car because they will struggle on tracks like this there are so many tracks like this
As a Ferrari fan, I’m absolutely terrified but confident that we will win Drivers Championship and Constructors Championship (I’m delusional).
total domination
Red Bull and Mercedes were definitely the teams sandbagging the most! Just look at the straight line speed data! Ferrari was actually the team with the best overall straight line speed in testing, which indicates that their engines were turned up more than their competitors. McLaren were also among the fastest. I think Ferrari and McLaren are not nearly as good as they seemed in testing, and Mercedes and Red Bull are quite a bit better than they seemed. Red Bull will be by far the quickest, at least in the first races of the season.
Verstappen actually didn't do a race sim. He went to the garage inbetween stints and most likely refueled. Same goes for Aston and Merc.
Hopefully there will be a team that might pinch a few races from Redbull otherwise it will be a borefest again like the vettel years .
Williams closing the gap on alpine for sure
We'll have to wait until 3 races at least
I really hope that ferrari end up being faster although unlikely but if rb is faster in bahrain i hope its close so we can have a fight
Arggghh! im So frustrated by Ferrari. Since i was 10 years old, SF is my #1 team. Charles is my #1 driver since he joined SF. Charles should have won the WC in 2022 if it wasn't for a woefully under performing car that got worse as the season went on, Horrible team calls, and maybe 1 or 2 mistake Charles made. Charles is %100 a WC caliber driver, regardless of his mistakes; SF has failed him. Now Lewis is coming...2024 is the season that SF needs to really do anything and everything they can for Charles to win. Carlos is great as well, really he is. But Charles should be the heart of the SF team.
You saw what merc can do with there number 2 driver ham would have be faster that Russell merc are ahead of Aston
Redbull is clearly ahead. But I do think that the gap that some people think there will be to the next car is a bit unrealistic.
I honestly think Ferrari has a good shot at winning Bahrain and a couple of races.
But Redbull is the car to best without a doubt.
Ferrari fans, including very much me, on the hopium again.
Red Bull wasnt even running their full power mode. Thats wild to me
So was everyone but Red Bull will dominate anyways
Everyone wasn’t either😂
Neither was Ferrari.
they did have the highest trap speed, 331 kmh. next closest teams were posting 318
no one was mercedes ran the lower power mode
Red Bull being the Voldemort of F1? Better watch out for those Horcruxes on the grid then!" 😂
I see Williams got the kiss of death again.
Honestly, Alpine seems to fight for Q2 for me.
I reckon McLaren will have a way better season than last season since they brought the upgrades so late into the 2023 season
That hinders development for the 24 car Ferrari & Mercedes will be clear
you don’t think those upgrades will transfer to 2024? mclarwn would’ve been second in constructors if they had that car at the beginning of 2023

I am not sure where you get the data from because not once have I seen Williams have a straight line disadvantage. They were easily the fastest on the straights faster than Red bull too. And also having C4 C5 is important in testing because you gain data from such soft tyres. So alpine bot doing that was stupid because unlike the top teams they didn't even bother doing the tyre tests
Your point about the tyres is just so wrong, most teams don't care if the C4 and C5 tyre won't be used in Bahrain, because this is a test for the whole season, and not just for for the first race/track of the season. So teams will want to collect data of all compounds on their new car.

For the life of me I don’t get why McLaren is so highly regarded, by their own admission they missed their winter targets and if you forget how last year went and focus solely on the 3 days of test they should be regarded as 5th best. (Ok pace similar to Mercedes and AM but god awful tyre wear)
Recency bias at its best I guess
Their TP and Lando even said that they cleft to be (far) behind RedBull and Ferrari and teams like AM and Mercedes expect to be right there if not ahead of Ferrari (like Allison said) so ranking McLaren as 3rd makes no sense to me
@@shittujo3147 Ferrari always overhypes their car, Mclaren always softballs their car. McLaren could be anywhere from 6th to 2nd best.
I think everybody is overestimating Mclaren, just because they had a good car last season towards the end does not mean they will have a good car this season, same as Aston, I expect Mclaren to finish 5th then Aston in 4th, copium......
They redesighned their car twice last season (albiet the first change was being worked on from before the start of the season).
But, it showed they could improve. Same with Ferrari, where every upgrade they came with targeted a weakness and it aleviated it.
Merc brought major upgrades that did nothing, and AM bought downgrades
@@dylanburston7453if Merc’s upgrades did nothing, how did they finish second in the constructors? The Monaco upgrade especially far improved the car, shown with the 2-3 in spain.
@@freddiemarsh2009 Because for the first 9 races the Ferrari ate its tyres and for the first 10 races Mclaren had no pace. And AM had 9-10 races (Canada to COTA) where the car was a slow as 7th.
The Monaco upgrade worked. But then so did Ferraris spain upgrade. And so did their Suzuka one. Weras merc had new sidepods in Spa that did nothing and a new floor in COTA that (when running legaly) did nothing.
Merc brought double the upgrades of Ferrari, and one more major upgrade, yet Ferrari got closet to Merc rather than Merc pulling away.
The Mclaren found massive time as well
They had a 40 point lead in Spa, and even tho Ferrari only really had one weekend where the car didn't DNS/DSQ/Have cooling issues/Get assaulted by manhole covers/have cursed SC timings, the gap was down to, what, 3 points.
And had it not been for the FIA giving perez a penalty in AD for bumping wheels, Ferrari would have claimed 2nd in the constructors.
@@freddiemarsh2009Mercedes finished seconds because they have Lewis Hamilton
McLaren understood their package last year, that’s why they were able to bring upgrades that just worked and improved the car massively. Since they are still developing on that same concept, it‘s reasonable to expect them to be competitive; however, there’s even less excuses when they didn’t at least take the same step Ferrari, Mercedes and Aston did
Mercedes didn’t even know what to improve at the end of last year so they had to completely change concept and Aston Martin clearly didn’t understand their package either, hence the upgrades not working.
That’s why McLaren are expected to be quite competitive
you really can't quantify a ranking from testing every team is running different tests and simulations too many variables . red bull was not even running in full power mode and the idea is to gather data not to push and potentially damage the car before the year has even started. there is a little bit of that but not the entire time. the only time we will know the true running order is next weekend.
I feel like they change specifications too often. One team usually gets the specs right and dominates and everyone else has to catch up. But when they start to catch up, and we might actually start to see some interesting racing, which is certainly why I'm here, I dunno about you, they then change the specs again and everything starts all over. It's not good for racing. It's not good for entertainment. It's probably not even good financially because they have to ditch a lot and start over every few years.
That said, of course new specs are exciting, can potentially shake things up a bit, and I do look forward to the new 2026 cars being smaller. Slightly.

Alpine is too high in this list. They will be fighting with Haas.
