The first race puts the 641-hp electric Hyundai up against the 523-hp Maserati Grecale Trofeo, the 550-hp Jaguar F-Pace SVR, and the 434-hp Porsche Macan GTS - each the quickest SUV in its lineup.
And then the Ioniq 5 N races the Hyper-SUV, the Lamborghini Urus Performante! It does this in regular mode and then also in N e-Shift mode, which simulates gearshifts.
As always, Cammisa's Ultimate Drag Race Replay shows you the drag race in detail from many angles and with a slow-motion walkback so you can clearly see what happened in just 11 seconds. And of course, we provide weather-corrected, instrumented testing numbers for bench-racing comparisons!

How is this not illegal
As a regular Driver during "Touristenfahrten" on the Nürburgring each Weekend i've seen countless of Teslas including Plaid Versions and they always would be very "uncertain" around tight Corners and in general High Speed Reace Track Curves.
Meanwhile the 5 Rounds i did with 2x Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ns so far infront of me, they did FAR better than any of the Teslas.
This kinda shows you that Tesla seems to focus more on Straight Lines (It's an American Brand so it makes Sense i guess).
Maybe one of the Reasons the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is so good on the Nürburgring (which really asks everything of your Car) because one of the former Main BMW M Division Engineers works for the Hyundai N Division. That would explain it.
Tesla is really starting to lack behind when it comes to making a great electric Car that is amazing outside of Drag Races

The Ioniq 5 N is the real deal! I work for a Hyundai dealer and got to ride in one with a professional driver around a little track. It's quite the beast of a car! It's really fast, handles well, stops well, it's comfortable, looks great & is a total bargain at its price point!! I'm hoping they'll do the same treatment to the Ioniq 6!!! Electric cars are not sustainable, we don't have the infrastructure for them and we won't have the infrastructure for them for decades!
Right now they are toys for Rich people, with single family homes where they can charge these things.

This car is not just a car with a fast straight line.
It's even more absurd. In addition, even though ordinary brakes are used, the brake life is almost infinite by applying stronger regenerative braking than those expensive cars.

The Hero we need
Years ago you would never imagine having a Hyundai in a line up with the likes of a Lamborghini or Porsche. Now, it not only beats both in a straight line, it would just as easily beat them all in a track while also capable of being the most "fuel efficient" among them.
WOW Hyundai's Ioniq 5 N best of the best
SVR will always be one of the best sounding forced induction V8s for me
That engine in any JLR product always sounds ridiculous. I think it's even louder in the RR Sport SVR
I think the SVR Engine of Jaguar Land Rover are probably in the top 3 best sounding v8 overall…
For me:
1. E9x M3 S65 V8
2. Koenigsegg Jesko
3. 5L V8 JLR
Yea it gets too a point where... ur driving a hyundai still and its an EV on top of that.. double wammy... 😂 dont think no one cares about its quick acceleration
Also.. They should now do the test with the ioniq at 75% state of charge. Im tired of people acting like the best time u get from an EV is its overall performance when driving. They should average the time with it at 50% battery and 100% and thats its time. Gas cars can be high or low on gas and get the same perfromance at all times. Thats real world.
@@G82Watts at 75% it really wouldn't change the result too much. Lithium battery power doesn't depend on soc as much as people think. For example the Model S plaid can run a 9.9 quarter mile with 23% battery charge on the street. I'd expect this Hyundai with just over half the plaids total output to have even better endurance.
The most mind-blowing part is not the fact that this N smashs those performance SUVs in a straight line. What would get Cammisa to struggle to comprehend ever further is the fact that the N will be completely out of their sight after a couple of corners on the Nurburgring.
Yep, and yet lets see how many people actually buy one
I've been a Hyundai hater for the last 20+ years... they were literally throw-away cars. The turn around they've completed as a brand in the last 10 years is nothing short of amazing.
I remember my parents were looking at a Accent in the late 90s. They were the shittiest cars but they were dirt cheap
@@orbitaljunkie And despite their low quality, they were pretty reliable cars and extremely simple to repair . Furthermore, their low end torque engines ensured decent fuel economy .
They really went from crap to amazing around 2009 with the Genesis Sedan then the Equus. It's wild. They've had nothing but beautiful, great cars ever since, and now they have a crazy performance car too...which competes with the best from Germans who've been making cars for 100 years...Really impressive.
Why? There is nothing impressive about this car. It is just a decision to add more motors and gadgets. Any modern car maker that is tinkering with electric propulsion could do it, heck, DeWalt or Panasonic could put out a straight line weapon that would humiliate an F40. An F40! Even Tesla 3 Performance would leave an F40 behind in 0-60. Which would you rather drive? I'm amazed Hagerty, that I thought were about driving passion are still pumping out these EV vs ICE drag races instead of putting out quality material about what emotions and feelings various interesting cars can invoke through driver engagement. Maybe they never did and this is just wishful thinking.

10:49 this is really cool I wish all EVs have this. and from the video it looks very real from the sound, the jerkiness during shift and everything. WOW!!!
I'm not an EV fan but I so want that Hyundai it's fabulous. Oh and the video editing and production is great, the best.
Umm “tricking you friends into thinking it burst Dinosaurs”!
Fossil fuels are not from Dinosaurs 😂😂😂
The difference between the past and the future is high-level technology, brains, and positive passion.
Man why are these videos so good
I just love how the video is done.
Hats off.
Cammisa is a legend.
Your videos are always spectacular Jason. Thank you.
Jason, another awesome video! I never thought I would want to drive or own a Hyundai, and you just made me a believer! Btw, your team that does the video editing, along with the camera crew, are amazing! That quick drone video flying towards the start line as they take off was only seconds long, but it brought a sense of excitement! 3.14M Subscribers, wow. Bravo! And you get to earn a nice living driving cars that you are passionate about! You are the man!
I love your videos, amazing. Thanks Jason and Hagerty and crew.
love the edits and the way y'all shoot your drag races, surely takes time
Still have my two gen 1 Valentine One, they have never fail since my Dad bough them for my 1999 Honda Prelude and his 1998 Corvette ❤
4:45 okay wtf pay whoever edited that
wow who wouldve ever thought hyundai would be in a race full of sprts cars
Putting carwow to shame, as always!
That’s a fast Hyundai! I want one.
The Ioniq 5 N reminds me of the Acura NSX (old version), or early days of the Nissan GTR R35, they were faster, less expensive, and could beat many of the common european "supercars" of its time. It's honestly very impressive.
Watching the Jaguar driver rope in the Porsche, literally, was not something I knew I needed today
£.56.000 car that can beat Porsche, Jaguar & Lambo.
Are we witnessing the new breed of "Godzilla"?
It goes faster than any other car featured in this video on twisty road as well
