Welcome to the brand new TLD Interloper series (as promised). The ULTIMATE survival challenge has begun! Will I die? YES! Should be super-fun!!
(This is version 2.0 because UA-cam screwed up S1E1 the last time I started this series. Luckily we were only 2 episodes in when this occurred, but I had to start from scratch...this is the result. ENJOY!)
Interloper is the hardest mode in Sandbox mode (The other difficulties are Pilgrim, Voyager and Stalker). The game describes that this mode is "For expert players looking for the ultimate wilderness Survival challenge."
In Interloper difficulty, you start with the most minimal resources, supplies are very scarce and Wildlife is rare, but it is more dangerous
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's Play THE LONG DARK | Interloper Can I survive at least a month on Stalker Mode in The Long Dark? Let's Play The Long Dark and find out!
Let's Play The Long Dark is a thoughtful, exploration-survival experience that challenges solo players to think for themselves as they explore an expansive frozen wilderness in the aftermath of a geomagnetic disaster. There are no zombies -- only you, the cold, and all the threats Mother Nature can muster.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Long Dark Interloper Facts:
Interloper was a new game difficulty, introduced in v.364.
The world becomes more hostile to you as you play. Global temperature drops, wildlife and fuel resources become more scarce, and Blizzards become more frequent.
Apart from the Hacksaw and Hammer, which spawn rarely in the world, you need to create all your own improvised tools (ex. Hatchets, Knives, etc.).
The best Clothing and Food items do not spawn.
Wolves are more rare, but also more deadly.
Wildlife becomes more rare over time.
There are no Rifles in the world.
The picture that represents this mode is the skull.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TLD's History:
Let's Play The Long Dark is a first-person survival video game developed and published by Hinterland Studio. The player assumes the role of a crash-landed bush pilot who must survive the frigid Canadian wilderness after a global disaster. The game received seed financing from the Canada Media Fund, and further funding was secured through a successful Kickstarter campaign in October 2013.
An alpha version was released through Steam Early Access in September 2014. The alpha version was later launched on the Xbox One as one of the first two launch titles associated with Microsoft's Game Preview Program in June 2015. Early reviews of the alpha release were generally positive, and the game went on to sell around 750,000 copies by April 2016. It was officially released on all aforementioned platforms on August 1, 2017, as well as for PlayStation 4.

If someone was looking for a guide for interloper, you're right, there are plenty of other UA-camrs that do everything in a transactional way, always makes the right decisions. I watch your series because you don't always make the best decisions, but that adds conflict to the story. The story, the intense drama of ups and downs, is why I love your LTD Interloper series.
That was the sweetest way I’ve ever been told I suck. Lol 🤪👍 Well said though!
@@Accurize2 No, that's not what I meant Accurize!
this is pure drama ;)
@@SilencerNate ikr interloper is so friggin hard. I can barely survive on pilgrim lol
Much better decision making in this one. Remember to make a good amount of arrowheads while you are forging. Here is a torch tip. When you are going to take torches from a fire you obviously want to get the best conditioned ones you can. When you take one check it's condition. Whatever its condition if you stand there and keep taking them they will all be that same condition. But if you move one step they will be a different condition, so just keep moving a step at a time as you take them till you get a good one, at least something in the 40's, then stand in that spot and keep taking them. Sounds silly, but it works. Try it.
Jim Johnson Sweet! Thanks!!
Smart!
Good to know!
Woof! Have fun picking up those 60 some-odd individual rosehips hahaha. That's one thing I always store in a drawer.
Just a good-natured ribbing, obviously. Love the videos.
At least it's only 60. When I had to learn the hard way, I dropped 216 at once trying to get under the weight limit. Took about five minutes to get them all back... 😂
I had the same thought 😂 "Have fun picking that up"
How AWESOME would a multiplayer interloper be! Team based but not multiple teams in one server.
you would all die in an hour from no food
It’s just unfortunate the game is not built for it. But just the idea is amazing. Sad
Because the survivor would ultimately be the one who takes everyone's clothes and eats the food
I know this is old but I personally like the fact that this survival game is one player only. Adding more people would complicate things in a negative way and I just know I would be the target of murder once my teammates start to get desperate. 😬❄️
i hit a new record low in my custom extra hard interloper. -95 degrees. I had to take a screenshot. i can only sleep for 7 hours too, 8 puts me into the red. Great series brotha..
@@micah6vrs8 I'm not, but funny enough, my settings are virtually identical to the deadman's challenge. It's about as hard as it could be. If I remember correctly, I think I left animal wildlife decline off so I'd have hunts/meat and have it be just as dangerous over time. I was just thinking the other day, I wish I wrote down my code. Funny, that I just recently saw this challenge, as I've been on this run for months. I'm on my fourth bow.
24:48 You sir, ran that stop sign. I'm going to have to write you a citation for that.
Michael Wilson Awesome! I’ll just self-rescue to the courthouse if you give me a date and location, then gladly pay my fine back into civilization!
Thanks for making these videos Accurize! It’s a treat to be able to let the heart rate drop and watch someone else play for a while! Dig your play style also!
Ive been laying off this game and picking it up again many times (i mostly take hiatuses because of how stressful it is) but everytime i come back you have 100 new videos for me to watch so thank you for that man
Accurize just know that the hammer is your best defense against the wolves if they attack!
So tense in that fog!! You're getting really good at hunting rabbits.
Clear pallets behind the fishing shack where the crafting table is located. Use that shack to store hides for curing. Build snow shelter. Stock supplies and hides there. You can craft from INSIDE the snow shelter as long as its facing the crafting table. You have to keep that SS up, or tear it down before it collapses, but you won't get cabin fever living in it while you craft your natural clothing like the wolf coat and bear stuff! Combine this with your excellent bear hunting off the front porch and dude...it's all good😃! Also, if you get up on the pointer logs high enough, the bear can't reach you when it attacks! Stick him with a couple arrows, let him bleed out, build SS and fire, harvest bear...
Should bait the fish hooks with that dangerous dog food.
Lol, outside the cabin on the Jack rabbit island, when you dropped the rabbit meat outside and went "raw, raw, raw, raw", I could only think of "THUNDER!". Hahaha. Great videos and gameplay. Looking forward to buying the game and go out on my own.
Love your videos!
There was a dear carcass to the left of you when you were aproching the main road, past the frozzen lake in the trees. the crows were squaking too.
He's always missing things. Especially how RAW his rabbits are!!!!
Good quick run...Mr Lucky.
Bummer the houses I have been talking about were all burned down. Also, you are right, there is a sapling on that island near the boat
your episode series deserves more views!!
Eagle Eye Viewer at 26:55 Transition Zone, Good Piece of Cedar firewood on the dirt/snow. you did not pick up nor see it. Heads UP.
Bro I can’t stop watching
your getting better each episode
I like your old into with the campfire :P
My recent playings I've noticed wolves do not stop from a flare. They only hunt you, once you toss the flare at them they charge. A torch I've tested scares them when they get to close, but throwing it sometimes doesn't scare them. Flares last longer, and prevent them from charging to get shelter and pass time if you don't have a gun to kill it 1 shot in it's charge. OFC on interloper. Use the flare to get away from it and such.
love your vids!
To tire myself out in TLD I run then I wait about 20 minutes (unfortunately one can only wait hours, so you have to cancel the waiting) the I run, rinse and repeat. This works pretty well. You can do the running outdoors and the waiting indoors so you can avoid cabin fever pretty good.
I would love a new series of the challenges. Some of the game mechanics have changed since you last ran through them. 👍🏻
I got a pic of a rabbit on my cellular deer cam when u were killin a rabbit😂
Playing catch up but note to future Accurize. In interloper you should only sleep 8 hours because you start dehydrating after that causing point loss as you sleep. Basically nullifying the last 2 hours of sleep. Sleep 8 eat drink sleep 2 if needed.
The island formally known as jack rabbit island.
Not sure if you know but you do not need light when breaking down things with your hands. I know chairs and boxes can be broken up with your hands. But, anything you can breakdown with your hands does NOT require light! I just learned this after 4 years of playing the game! - I kept learning new things every time I play! (recently learned you can move items that are on the ground left trigger or L2 with PS4/xbox to pick up and right trigger/R2 to place!...)
Enjoying the series, looking forward to seeing how it goes.
Who is the other Interloper UA-camr you mentioned?
Ahh, I found that Geltaz channel, I was expecting more videos, seems his newest is a 14 part "Season" and it's more than 2 years old, and he's got even older content. it's rather interesting looking back at all the older outdated UI styles. seems the Long Dark has that as much as other games like 7 DTD does.
I know this is an old video but just for peeps out there: You can get food poisoning from candy bars. I just got it today from a 54% candy bar on pilgrim! I was so shocked lol
Really? I've eaten 12% ones on stalker a few days ago, never gotten food poisoning from them
Accurize does adorable stupid things * Please don’t watch this. Me:That’s...why I’m here.
And the time when ready for sleep the notification pop up and think that «we will sleep when we died...nevermind»😅😅😅
Kind of funny man, I thought you couldn't find bedrolls and you could only make them (keeping with the whole build everything theme) but I got on my current world and found one in the Lake Cabin in Mystery Lake. Still going strong, 7 or 8 days
I play tld in metric mode but im pretty sure it took 7.5 coal to get it up to temp, so i usually did half-a-coal in sticks then 7 coal.
-old man's beard wound dressing is very slightly heavier than one old man's beard lichen, but it takes three lichen to make one dressing, so carrying the wound dressing is lighter than carrying the lichen to make it.- edit: i'm wrong. was looking at old wiki data.
rabitless island XD
Cabin Fever, huh? is that like...an actual illness in this game?! didn't know sanity was a thing. I'm rather curious what it's effects are.
Don't forget to look up when you are in the upper crawl space in the whaling facility!
I understand why they didn’t include this in the game but it would be cool if you could build your own like log cabin like the forest
Everything you do is with flare buddy!
Does cooking peaches make them safer? btw....I have gotten food poisoning from bad peaches. Normally I don't eat anything below 30%.
Question, why is this serious 1 when you have a couple interloper runs previously?
Yeei
What’s heavier, 19 feathers or 9 rocks? 😅
I've gotten food poisoning from an energy bar before, I think it was around 20% but it was in Nomad challenge so not sure whether that changes something, but just a heads up
Same happend to me on my latest stalker run, I also had to eat a tin of ruined peaches early on but that didn't make me sick
:thumbs up:
Loose board under the deck of washer and drier
If you stopped making The Long Dark videos I would die...
If I do, it’s a good indication I beat you to it.
Top 10! my mom told me I was destined for greatness!
You keep looking for a bedroll ... I was under the impression that there wasn't one in Interloper except the bearskin one you have to craft. No?
I'm completely new to the game, and I was wondering how it is that you have so much stamina and you can Sprint for longer. how do you do that?
Hes using feasts You need to unlock them first one hes using is giving him 25% less stamina loss while sprinting. The other one is 10% less calories burning atleast i think that hes using that one.
:3
Hello. You’ve been mentioning GELtaz a lot lately. He hasn’t posted any videos in a long time and he has gone missing from social media. Some of his fans are legitimately concerned for his well being. I’m not sure why I feel I should mention it, other than that if you do hear that he is alive and well, please take a moment to say something, because the rumors are getting pretty thick.
If you think this is inappropriate to mention on your site, either delete this, or let me know and I will.
Fuccimama Nope I’m glad you let me know. If I hear anything I’ll be sure to pass it along. I don’t know him personally, but I’ll keep an ear open nonetheless. Thank you for your concern! 👍
Fuccimama he is active on social media though. In the last week he has liked posts on social media.
DragonForce thank you! He hasn’t been commenting anywhere that I’ve seen. I took a look at his twitter, so it’s good to see that he’s alive and well.
geltas? Interloper?
What’s the name of the youtuber you reffer to around 6:00? Also great content!!

Eric Mercon ❤️
Hey Accurize, I even turned off the Adblocker on UA-cam for you.
Hey . . . another utube adblock fan. Yo:)
Greetings Accurize2 AKA Dances by Wolves AKA Glass Ankle. Try as I might I could not catch the handle of the UTuber you mentioned at about 6 min. into this play. I love your stuff but I would like to check him out as well.

Re. Eric Mercon : Thank you for that.
I was sure we'd be writing "Here lies Accurize 15/02/19" for a while there. Good job escaping the wolves and not getting lost in the fog :D
I was lost in the fog on pleasant valley next to the farmstead which was my base. The whole time i was right next to the base the entire time.
For anyone who wants to know who Accurize was referencing at 6:00 minutes:

I thought, you can cure fur faster near the stove. Hummmmm...
No, that doesn't work.
It would make sense but no
so u are not eating properly so u can exchange health which can be restored for calories? thats really smart. wish u would explain more in detail why u do certain things
Taishi Senko I’ve explained it many many times before. It’s not my job to make every other episode a tutorial.
@@Accurize2 ah i see, just discovered ur channel so i didnt watch all of ur stuff yet.
Atleast i noticed it by myself :P
That Acc kept his hunger in the red, or starving himself was driving me nuts. I figured there had to be a reason. Found this: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=835876021. He is positioning himself during the day by not eating, so that he can MORE than gain them back at night with the above linked strategy.
I was about ready to unsubscribe and stop watching when I found this out. It'd be nice if he did a bit more explaining about what the rational was behind his actions. But otherwise, interesting.
Otherwise, a good exposition on certain things NOT to do too, like get rushed and eat raw meat, rush a loot and miss hacksaw, etc. No ones perfect and watching and then criticizing is very, very easy.
I don't understand why you're not eating? You haven't hardly filled your food meter since you started. You're not really playing a survival game, you're just exploiting a game you call a survival play through. i'll keep watching, but something tells me that you're the type of player which required the "Well Fed" bonuses to be implemented in the first place. No different to speed bumps really.
Because Interloper actually requires this strategy for long term survival. Rationing food is an actual real life survival strategy. Simulating how you’d actually survive is hardly an “exploit”. Would you actually keep a full stomach if in the same situation? Or would you try to conserve your food as much as possible?
I’ll offer you a challenge. Do your own Interloper video series, keep yourself mostly full (rarely go into the red for food) and survive as long as me and I’ll be glad to shoutout your superior survival strategy video series.

Don’t like to watch no it alls it’s boring I perfer your type of players people who know enough it’s much more entertaining
