This was the most soothing DIY video I’ve ever watched #2. Wish all instructors in my UC were like this gent !! Thanks much
This was the most soothing DIY video I’ve ever watched. Lol. Great demo! Definitely helped me out.
Nice video, simple and straight to the point. I HATE using the rose/brown cardboard paper to cover floors especially carpet it has ZERO flex so i was looking for different ways to cover carpet
thank you, very helpful for a novice painter
Real clear, thanks for the help!
Really good explanation and shown very well.
Great information thank you
Same as ours, a great quality Carpet Protection Film.
Helpful vid
Really fantastic video, thank you so much!!
My pleasure, thanks so much for the comment!
What construction situation would require this much carpet protection?
anyone else getting massive asmr vibes ?
Great
Dude thanks!
My pleasure!
Thank you for the demonstration. Does the carpet mask leave a sticky residue after you take it off? I have read many other types of sticky carpet protectors ends up leaving a hard residue on the soft carpets. Also up to how many days can we leave this on?
As I have heard of this problem, it has never happened to me. One thing to keep in mind is the kind of carpet you are applying the masking to. According to the directions, it is not recommended on wool carpets, but not because of residue, but because it can pull up the pilings.
Also, if the carpet has just been recently installed, you should let it sit for a few days before putting down the masking.
I have left the masking on as long as 3 months and, again, have never had an issue, and it has never left a residue.
If you are concerned, and have the time, you may want to test it for a couple of days in an inconspicuous area.
I didn't know Andy Dick did floor preping.
Can I not just do this without the adhesive roll? Pretty expensive
man that must be charged well, I got a job like that with carpet and things in the house they piled it up in the middle of the rooms, but I don't want to spray it because all those things get in the way
Why don't you just throw a sheet over their stuff?
Do you just use carpet protector around the perimeter and plastic sheet in the middle of the room? Or do you have carpet protector throughout the room?
It really depends on the job. Most of the time however, I use carpet protector around the perimeter and plastic in the middle. Using carpet protector in the high traffic areas is another way to approach it.
@@DaveMartin thanks again
Thank you
You are very welcome, I'm glad it helped!
What brand did you use?
Surface Shields, 36" by 200' from Home Depot
what do you charge to install this carpet shield?
It will probably cost nearly as mich as the paint.
anybody know what kind of Roll and where to buy it ?
Menards or home depot in carpet and flooring section
The part you came to this video for starts at 2:31
What a fuss!!!! The over-zealous masking will cost more than the paint.
