Top man Peter, love your style - Every story involves the same characters eg. a man & woman but they all all unique in their own way and very entertaining, keep em coming people so Peter can pass them on !!
My Thai girlfriend promised not to work in the bar anymore if I sent her 20000 a month.and she was as good as her word .she now works in the massage parlour
Great readings Peter. And yes, very much a good lesson to learn for everyone. The other lesson to learn is not to have just one bank account, but have 2 or 3 accounts and spread your money between them, so IF anything happens in the future you can still carry on your holiday/travels. Well done, good narration.
The sun is out the girls are beautiful your brain gets switched off. Pls Lads wake up your kindness will be paid back in pain and sorrow they know exactly what they are doing and play on your kind heart you have to understand it's a totally different culture money is everything to them family is everything to them you dont even come close to second place.
I have to disagree. Yes they do it to support their families and are very loyal to their families, but you make them sound inhuman. They are also people just trying to do the best they can. Yes some get a hard attitude and do a lot of despicable things, but i also believe some of them are also good people. Can't classify all as being bad.
2nd story, carousel bar was great, too bad it is shut now, windmill, he was definitely out for a good time in there...I've used my cards at atms attached to banks only and never had an issue, that is probably underrated advice..great stories
Great stories again Peter, maybe soon I’ll have a story about an idiot that spent her visa money on a motorbike ( but it hasn’t got an ending yet ) 😂😂 ( great bike though ) 👍
Another thing, in Pattaya I learned to avoid ATMs out in the open as the whole area can see you taking out money, so now you're a farang with a pocket full of money and alot of unwanted attention
Interesting stories today Peter ... The bank machine scam it's the first i'm hearing of this in Thailand but not surprised the scam been around for years the rest standard newbie mistakes but good stories all the same ..cheers
Another thing I do to reduce the risk of fraud is make sure the bank account linked to the debit card I use in Thailand doesn't have a huge balance. That way if my debit card gets compromised, there is a limited amount of money the thieves could access. If the account runs out of money due to my own spending and I need to access a little bit more, I can go online and transfer a little bit more money into the account before I head to a cash machine.
Thank Peter great stories again.good tip about the.atm .it seen drinking is such a big part on most traveler .is sad as thailand got so much more to offer.
Thanks Peter for these 3 lovely stories, as always. It is was in June of 2017 when pickpocket stole my wallet in Barcelona. It was very rough to be in foreign country without money. My sister wired some money through western Union, so i could return to US. Then it was December 2017, around 2:30 in the morning when I was returning to my Hotel via Soi 6 in Pattaya, one tall lady approached me. Maybe ladyboy. I never knew. She started to rub my chest in one hand, and at the same time she was trying to reach my backside pocket with another hand. Barcelona experience made me cautious when stranger approach. so I caught her red handed. I let her go. No harm.
This happens everywhere with the credit cards. I stayed at Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. This is a 5* resort. We paid top dollar & went all inclusive. The ONLY time I used my Visa debit card was at a convenience store in the resort. I bought 2 packs of cigarettes. 3 months later my bank contacted me asking if I was in Miami. Someone had charged a pizza to my card as a 'tester' which went through. Then they went to a store & tried to buy TVs, computers & other electricals which my bank declined. On that whole trip, we were in LA, New Orleans the the Bahamas this was the one time I used that particular card. Nowhere is safe... S
To add to the cash machine advice, even try to avoid bank-attached machines that are outside the bank in the wall. These, although safer than freelance machines, can still be set up with skimming devices. The safest option is to use machines inside the bank itself, during business hours. Plan your cash in advance for the upcoming evening.
The second story with bank & card, you mentioned you got done Peter. Sounds to me like your card was done in the UK & not Thailand. Round about that time BP filling stations in UK were rife for card cloning, in ones owned by a certain ethnicity of people. It was so bad round Bradford, that the Police publicly advised people under no circumstances use or pay transactions by card at any BP filling stations owned by this ethnicity. That's how bad it got. Apparently nearly all readers at these garages were cloning cards. Even to this day, I avoid BP garages, & always pay at pump or pay cash.
Hi Tilt, not sure however, I would never use a BP garage because they are rip off prices...If I needed fuel on the M1 or something I would stick a tener in and fill up at Tesco when home, BP??? Never!
Interesting. Story number #2. I stayed at Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. This is a VERY expensive resort, with its own Casino, water park & everything. I used my Debit card only at the convenience store in the Hotel. Same happened. My bank contacted me a month later asking 'Are you in Miami USA'? Im like, no... Charges had been made against my card a month after I left that resort. But the only time I used it was at that store in the resort. Goes to show, even 5 * has its dangers.
When any guy thinks to himself 'I can't believe why this beautiful young bar girl is interested in me' Take your thoughts on board, she isn't...she's interested in what she can get off you. Nothing more or less.
It isn't just Thailand where you have to be careful about ATMs. In the mid 1990s I was living in the East End of London and buying a house at the time. One day I was walking past a shop front which looked like a bank with an ATM outside. Even though it was during office hours the bank was unlit with no staff. I saw people attempting to withdraw money from the ATM but always left empty handed. A few days I read in the papers about people being victims of bank fraud with some suffering substantial losses arising from a bogus ATM in the East End. I'm pretty sure that bank was the source. I count myself lucky that I didn't need cash on that day.....and had I tried to use that ATM I would have lost my deposit for a house. The moral of the story is that you should check for any lose attachments and cameras before you use an ATM where ever it is.
That’s not possible I am afraid, one 10 minute clips takes up to 20 hours to produce so you can imagine my stories would take months to make into animations.
@@ThailandBound That is an excellent idea Peter. You can sell it on CD cassette online and I will be first person to buy it. I am sure so many would be buying it.
Hi Peter, Very entertaining. And also good information. Like your self I’m waiting for the day we all can return to Thailand, Ps. All ways look forward to hearing from Thailand bound 👍
In Thailand I have one account attached to ATM card and another account where I keep most of my money. Since 2004 I have only been scammed for 7,000 b which is pretty good. The latest scam seems to be connected to someone trying to get me involved in Crypto and then they steal bank info. I caught onto this right away but changed passwords to be safe.
I used a Westpac global currency card that was linked to my Westpac choice account so I would keep so much in the global currency account and transfer as needed, I had 2 cards for the Global currency account in case one was lost.
Few years ago used a.t.m. in a shopping mall in chaiyaphum took out 10,000 baht all seemed fine but later looked at the print out was extra 10,000 down on what should have been left I rang my bank in Australia they said they would investigate it found out machine took 20,000 baht but only said 10,000 on the receipt got refunded the money so now go anywhere only use bank a.t.m. and check receipts , take cash when you go Thailand only book hotels that have room safes and just leave couple thousand baht in a draw when you go drinking incase you have to pay for services later and make sure all your valuables locked away plus you get a better exchange rate with cash.

Peter I stayed in a nice hotel off soi Diana every thing great then I bought a phone in mike's plaza 3 days later I couldn't get any money from the ATM I had to phone my bank from the phone box outside of retox they told me that £3000 had been taken from my account in numerous pay Pal purchases in 3 days so they suspended my account I was allowed to go to a bank around the corner and withdraw £500 until my new card arrived in England then sent to me I explained this to hotel but 7 days later police arrived and threatened me with prison unless I paid bill outstanding I gave my passport and about £250 I had left but was totally in the more luckily a friend took me in and 2 days later my new card arrived from England so I was solvent again the fear of being locked up will haunt me forever don't ever pay anything by card

Amazing how many western men step into Thailand then suddenly become "blind".
What s pity..the gentleman give her everything but between her two legs given to others....fortunately the guy is..... wise
Forgot...I try to go inside the bank for money business. Also heard it is easy to copy the card # at the machines.
You mentioned the late Kev in Thailand. Did he die ? I hadn't heard anything about him in some time.
Yes unfortunately he has gone

They should show these videos on the aircraft going out to Thailand 😂😂😂

Hello young lady
Sounds like the first story guy still hasn’t really learned his lesson.
Gee, what's the message with all these stories. Can't trust any of them. Find your independence. Pay for what you use only.

If I remember correctly she told him
Maybe he meant to use the cheap Nokia phone to use when calling his mistress not to give to her ..
