i agree ! you probably can't even swim in that current!! and other boaters probably can't even paddle over to rescue a swimmer! also i understand why kayackes don't were a face mask anymore?
Every flood level river I've run has debris. I've watched 6' wide trees snapped like toothpicks. You just have to look upstream b4 entering & have an eddy waiting. No log has ever outrun me.
Did any of you all commenting read the description? This was shot during the advance storm in front of the hurricane the day before. They wisely stayed out of the water when all of the debris came through the next day.
Right on! 1st/only decents. Why so much hate in comments? Don't watch, not disprectful. We kayakers live for high water events. Anybody angered should google other class 5 runs. These guys are skilled.
Now several days later y'all know that multiple people are missing loved ones and life in the area has changed forever in some ways. Still want to ask why the hate? As these guys were goofing off and laughing others were losing everything including the lives of all close to them. Do not reply.
These Professional Kayakers probably already know that they’re totally on their own and in reality this area does not have the professionals to go rescue them anyway so they know they’re on their own😮
These people have paddled on this river for a long while and know it better than most. These folks are also some of the best upcoming paddlers and they are wearing all the proper safety gear and are padding in a group all with rescue equipment and knowledge of how to use it these people are not being stupid they are pushing the sport
It is still called retardation for possibly putting first responders in danger not to mention if something happen it pulls them away from people who are really in need.
These guys would be the best professionals to find people in the river. And while these guys are running the river will be the same professionals that find them the people dead or alive.
@@hughjanus5518 this guy disrespected the deaths of 223 people (and rising) and you backed him up. This is not intelligent behavior. I am a kayaker too, and the problem isn't the water. There is debris in that water and a tree will crush you.

@kenjigoodspeeed I don't need to read the description when I can see the water. It is already well above it's normal level.

if they get caught in a strainer then they need rescue at exactly the same time those resources are much better used elsewhere. did they scout?

Amazing video! Those kayakers look totally nuts to me, but obviously highly skilled and completely fearless!!
Had a good hole there.
Hell yeah! Just the thought of flood debris is freaky.
Did they live/survive the raging waters?
Father forgive them, for they know not what they do. 😓
This is sick!
The professional kayakers would be the best people to find people along the river or in the river to donate their time and skill finding people.
Just dont expect any rescue, you're on your own, in a situation like this you're not worth the risk involved.

We are all going to survive the pole shift. :-)
Damn y’all are crazy
My biggest concern would be the debris that came , but looks fun.
Was wondering how long it would take for this kinda stuff to be posted...
This was from before the storm
Heard the Noli crested at 1.3 Million CFS in Erwin on NBC. Be safe, hope all is well as can be
That's the most batshit thing I've ever heard
At the dam where the lake is the normal section hit 100 k but that’s still a crazy amount
That fact is incorrect. Noli hit a max of 160-180k CFS in the flood, but mind you, flood stage for the noli is normally 20k
Fkin awesome!! L-i-v-i-n boys
just go with the flow, the flow.
Every human has a right to the earth in all its safety or danger. We only take from our own rights in reducing the rights of others.
Let that sink in.
This video shows why some folks are a danger to themselves and others.
They should've put your ass in jail for being so dangerously stupid.

You should shut the floor up 🕳 since it's so dangerous
Your such a fudd, while the behavior is slightly uncalibrated it's also pretty rad.

No sewage this was from the day before the storm!
I dunno, this seems kinda crazy to me. 😂🇺🇦🇺🇲💙
I was going to ask if you kayaked over the top of the dead bodies, or were most of them washed up on the shore?
