This breaks my heart. For so many years, this river and community have been a sanctuary for me. I pray for everyone who has lost so much. I look forward to the day when we can all enjoy this beautiful place again.
this is so hard to watch. That was my home away from home for the past 35 years and knew almost every inch of the river intimately. Now it's unrecognizable. Thanks for the video. btw I'm working on an FPV glider now that I hope will be able to help with search and rescue in the future.
@xerolift Did you have one of the homes on the road? If so, which one?. I have a lot more footage. Me and my family have spent many days in the cove. It was hard for me to see it close up. If you notice my other little shorts of me sitting on the porch of the cabin in front of Fast Freds. That areanis decimated. Do me a favor and share this. When you get glider footage, I'll do the same.
Yes. Thank you very much for sharing this. I have seen numerous videos of the upper green and the narrows, but not of the Lower Green and the Cove. I haven’t spent as much time there, but took my first couple of days of Whitewater training on the lower green. What was once well known now becomes not so well known. And a new river to learn. I heard that it was wider and shallower. This shows that very well. I am very interested in the one area where the wave used to be. I know many people would go there to practice surfing on the standing wave in the river. Do you have any footage of this area? I would love to see it if you do.
@absoluteelectricandmainten7432 fast Fred is a guide on the river, his home was washed away too right below the bridge. I'll see if I can link a video. He may know.
@OutdoorAdventureRetreats Also see Olivia Vitali's channel. The Chronicles of Olivia and The Appalachia Channel with John Ward. I've collaborated with both, and both have EXTENSIVE footage here.
The river need major clean up get ready next rain.Calgary alberta 2013 floods clean up both elbow and bow river was hell job.The amount here just insane wreck sad.😮
@lucmarchand617 It will all run downstream into a relatively small reservoir called Lake Adger, possibly causing issues. Right below the dam, the hwy 9 bridge washed out. Im only showing about a 2 mile stretch here. The tree devastation was worse downstream.
@@MesaBoogieman82 In some places. Since the video, we have found 3 bodies. A man, 7 year old child and a woman. Still no FEMA, and THEN FEMA contractors have pulled out from non payment.

Like a mountain tsunami.
@@tilly8120 There are several debris flows about a mile long in the original raw footage.
Gouged out down to the bedrock.
