This is by far the some of the biggest white water kayaking I’ve ever seen submitted. This is a 🔥video! By far that’s no joke the water there running. Life and death runs and glad you made it out good. As an ex kayaker now disabled this gave me the rush. Cheers from California!
THAT WAS INSANE!!! I did not even know paddling (and surviving!) water THAT BIG was possible!!! Unbelievable rush!!! Shew! It just seems to me that could become a keeper any time it wanted to! Thanks so much for sharing...GOOSEBUMPS!
I am sitting on my chair at home watching this video see these big and powerful waves with these tiny freaking good kayakers and just think: "Wow that just looks so good and must be so fun" but on the other hand I realise that it must be so dangerous and I'll never be at that point were I say yes I can make this. That makes me so sad but happy at the same time its such a weird feeling I can't describe it. Its like a rolercoaster. Enjoy your time there.
What you are doing is remarkable and should inspire the next of paddlers to take this to the next level. God only knows what that might look like though. It's almost 20 years since I paddled there at a much lower and friendly level with lines and hydrolics that were consistent, stable and predictable. I found that more than enough even after a week of repeated runs and familiarity. This approach and style is beyond anything I've ever imagined possible.
It is probably the best kayaking thing I have ever seen. It looks like so much fun, that at the place where I had the most traumatizing day of my life. Remember these guys are professionals.
I reconize N° 9. I accidentaly drop in in raphting with my wife and my dauther 12 and 14 y, 10 years ago. It’s the best vidéo of n°9 i seen of the power of zambezi.
Incredible, the fury of that water is far beyond terrifying to a layman like me. Balls of unobtainium all of you who ran those monstrous waves and drops to emerge the other side of that maelstrom!
Wow, just wow. I'm terrified and super curious all at the same time...so how thrashy is it in there for the 6-10 seconds you're under that enormous hydraulic?
This is absolutely and incredibly badass, holy shit. Haven’t seen a video in a while after falling out of paddling and this is what I came back to…you guys are legends
So much stoke watching you guys on the Zam. Need to get my act together and finish organising a trip there this year. Just though not at those levels. one day though.. one day. Any advice on whether to take the ripper or a playboat? Heard opinions for both so far.
Unfortunately "one day" may never come; the dam is in construction and most of these rapids won't exist in the near future. Get there while you can! As for which boat, do you usually playboat? Half slices get epic lines and great surfs and there are surprisingly few proper freestyle waves for normal humans. You know Dane, Bren and Kalob love a chance to fly in playboats but I found the Zambezi to be more about river running than play boating.
@@TraveltoPaddle Yeah, I know the completion date for the dam could be as little as 2 years away. 😭 Do a mix of river running and playboating. Dee seen like a river runner looks more fun on the Zam overall. Was just curious that she people seem to recommend a playboat. Also been enjoying your (and the send crew's) videos from Kenya. Another on the destination wishlist.
@@tjsx101 playboats will come out of holes quicker of course, so there is a pretty good logic for playboats. For me it comes down to whether I want to get thrown around for fun and roll a lot or if I want to run rapids fast and smooth (ish). Glad you're liking the videos, more to come! Kenya should be on every river runner's list!
If i could only take one type of kayak over there it’s for sure a half slice! just makes the flatwater and navigating the rapids so much better, especially given being out there on a daily basis
@@Senders Given there's a few places that rent mostly playboats out there taking the half slice with me definitely seems the right choice then. Thanks :)
Nice, I;ve rafted it a few times (and canoed the upper, amongst the crocs and hippos, scary shit). Always a challenge and always puts the butterflys in your stomach in the morning before you start. Come out at the top of 7, and you will gullivers travel that one the length, not fun! But great memories. Oh yeah and jumped off the bridge too...
WOW!!! amazing athletes! Fit young men having a jolly good time! Crazy conditions, fine line white watering. VERY impressive and Fun to watch! You fellows are outstanding! Please submit your footage to Banff international film Festival...or even better a little re worked edition!!.. the conditions you have expose yourselves to definitely ups the anti Hugely in todays version of BiG anything! , anywhere!,....AWESOME!!! God Speed!
You guys are definitely fortunate to be able to do what you do,and do it well I may add. The camera work is frickin amazing, I would like to say outstanding work you guys and words can not say enough. Thank you for this,it kicks ass.
I went down the Zambezi during the highest floods they'd had for decades. A fantastic experience. Capsized and almost drowned a few times, but it was amazing, especially on the Stairway to Heaven. 🙂🛶
If I didn't see it I would never have believed it. That was insane. Where do you even begin to read water like that. I'm guessing hang on and use pure instinct? It makes me wonder how you fit balls that big in such a little kayak.

If it's that big on camera, it's must be unreal in person. Great video
definitely a few times where you do feel pretty small heading towards some of these waves or holes 😂
absolutely.....this is a joke compared to being in there....
It’s like when u go skiing and see a black diamond sign for advance level, the is a triple black diamond, insanity
Just ask Sam bradford on his 40 second downtime at rapid 9. One doesnt want a downtime like that especially on that rapid.
Traumhaft ihr seid die Besten

Many years ago I was very involved with rafting and kayaking, this video just sparked that passion again. I going back to the river!!!
Wow what an insane ride , amazing , thank yiu for sharing . That was incredibly brave and crazy 😱😯😊🌊

He died yes
Can’t even contain the thrill of just watching this. I was hooting and hollering from my couch like I was there in person
Centre line? No line from where I was looking - that was carnage. Big props to all the paddlers.
Oh garsh... seriously

What happened?
Not surprising they are the best kayakers in the world.
What a wild, insane river! Absolutely love kayaking, and the Zambezi appears to be the “Mecca” of kayak destinations.
Exactly mate, like the North Shore of kayaking
That is one giant crazy hole, and heading straight into it, top notch skills
That's the most amazing footage I've seen. Choosing those narly lines takes big ones.

Accidentally dropped in No 9! With your wife & daughters! You are lucky to be alive.
Absolutely epic. That last big drop was insane. Stay safe guys.
There are always people who take things to a next level! Well done! I am impressed.
One of The Better adventure UA-cam videos- Go for it!
Incredible, the fury of that water is far beyond terrifying to a layman like me. Balls of unobtainium all of you who ran those monstrous waves and drops to emerge the other side of that maelstrom!
That is absolutely hard core!! Huge skills and huge balls.
I love kayaking, but this is not for the casual kayaker, well done gentlemen , my hats off to you
are you sure?
That camera work is epic! 👌🏼🔥
The kayaking’s not bad either 😉
I am soooooo jealous.
I love that river.
You can keep the centre line in #9 though.
No thanks!
Awesome, never get tired of footage from this river. Looking forward to Dano's edit on this adventure.
Absolutely insane. I can’t wait to do the Zam
You guys are totally insane, but the camera work is sick!!!
Wow, just wow. I'm terrified and super curious all at the same time...so how thrashy is it in there for the 6-10 seconds you're under that enormous hydraulic?
Wow… looks unreal! Great vid guys 🤙🏼🔥
Thank you 🙌
this is one of the most aesthetic yet THE most insane whitewater kayaking video I've ever seen, you guys killed it 😮😮
....daaaaaammmmmmnnnn....Bless you, guys. I suppose this is redundant, but, uh, "stay safe" 🤗🤗
So sick guys. F*cking admirable. You're literally achieving the dreams of us commoners. I hope to see you there someday.

All the best from Western Australia!!!!!!!!!
Fuck yeah! That was amazing! I am more impressed by the rapid dive than the big waterfall jump.
Such sick edits. Just wish they were like another 30 minutes longer haha
Amazing thanks guys & nice to see Dane at the end

Gnar. That looks dangerous AF. You guys killed it. Thanks for the vid.

You guys are literally amazing!
Hammermäßig! Absolut geil!!
You guys are nuts going into the meat of those giant holes!!

Awesome video!
Incredible edit!
Ridiculously scary looking standing waves and vortexs there. Have you heard about a standing wave on the Rio General in Costa Rica?

I don't think I would ever follow Benny down a river🤣. There was a reasonable route to the left. So much downtime.
We made fun of kayakers in the surfing world but these guys get a huge thumbs up from me.
You know what this and a submarine have in common? Their SO-GNAR!!!
This straight up looks like death. You insane daredevil.
Unreal! Huge!
If I didn't see it I would never have believed it. That was insane. Where do you even begin to read water like that. I'm guessing hang on and use pure instinct? It makes me wonder how you fit balls that big in such a little kayak.
I understand the crocodiles stay away from the rapids. I guess the trick is when the rapids end then get out of the water.
Sick edit once again
Excellent video!
Just insane and unbelievable 🙈!
That was crazy sh*t
Good Lord...
that's big shoots
And big nuts
The Zambezi…?….are you effin kidding me
