While we may never get to see the ending of 1899, at least we get to hear you three coming up with some fantastic ideas about where it might have gone.
Great discussion as usual, guys! I've been on the fence about whether the 2099 setting is the true reality or not, but I'm thinking it's not now and here's why: In the very, very last shot of the show, as the camera rotates on Maura's face you see her pupils go from normal TO TRIANGLES, the other way around (obviously) from what we had seen throughout the rest of the show. Still absolutely gutted by the cancellation, btw 😢💔
Thank you for sharing your insights. One sentence that sticks with me and would greatly align with David's theory on the original therapeutic intention of the simulation was made by Henry when he expressed his frustration about how the simulation was going saying: "Everytime they make the same mistakes. And every time, they die (E7)", potentially referring to the "real" mission of the Prometheus which is to ensure survival of the human species (i.e. emotions lead to wrong decision making and are as such a human shortcoming that has to be overcome which in turn is extremely challenging as it is nearly impossible to wipe out events such as traumatic memories).
Elliot's play room is 1899's version of a safe room. Wouldn't it be cool though if the playroom's dimensions were identical to the bunker in Dark. And regarding Eyk... No one ever talks about that weird white patch in his beard. Great discussion in this video. Lots of interesting theories.... Oh.... Non 1899 related.... Big announcement today regarding Bo and Jantje. New Netflix series: Something Is Killing the Children. Comic book adaptation... Pretty sure No one saw that coming.... 🤔
I'd swear the black stuff on the ship is Goethite because its a crystal. Crystals are used to power atomic clocks. Atomic clocks are used to synchronize time across large spans like outer space. When the clock ticks on the ship and the black crystals emerge its like the physical symbol of time ending, and its power, the crystal, is enveloping the spacial. ://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goethite
I like the idea that the sim is a plan to condition the colonists for their new task. But I still think that the sim may be testing _potential_ colonists who aren't even on the spaceship yet. It's to weed out the ones who will do something crazy like start a mutiny.
@the culture cave ****spoiler************"""""" ******************* *******************"************************* Similar to Dark , the Amazon Prime videos series war of the worlds in end of season 1 starts using the exact tropes/ themes used in Dark. Will you review that show? Another similarity is it makes us care so deeply about multiple and their personal dramas, trials, and tribulations
I was explaining the show to my daughter and came upon this video. Surprised and happy to see David on the panel
Please continue discussing 1899 🙏🙏🙏
I am so happy you continue to release content about 1899!

You three are great together!!
OMFG! Y’all have LML joining you?! Can’t wait to get off work to watch. Super Boss collaboration on 1899!
You guys are the best!!! Thanks for the awesome theories and content!!

Lol.....I wonder if Netflix will cancel that too...
That is very weird since 1899 was accused of stealing from a comic.

Nice, got David on!
Three of my faves in one video!! 🎉
Great video!
Eyk, the Captain, could also be the Operating System that runs all the programs and calls all the shots in a computer system
What about the guy who works for Henry in the Star Trek outfit? Is he in the sim? Is he outside the sim but a servant to it?
Epic Collab!

Soo, the second part was never released, just like the second season...
Wow haven’t seen LML since GOT
*Perfect match* I see what you did there, Anthony.
maybe there was a mutiny on the spaceship like there was on the ship, and they trapped the captain in a simulation so he wouldn't regain control.
