Skynet has no reason to number their models. Why would they have a T-800, T-1000, etc. And even if they did number them, it's not like the numbers are written anywhere on the cyborgs. How would the rebels know anything about model numbers? The terminators in the future don't seem to use their infiltration capabilities very well. That one from the flashback just reveals himself as soon as he's in the base. Obviously, despite their seeming ineptitude at infiltration, they somehow managed to discover the identity of the man who was leading the rebellion. Instead of just killing him, they go through all the trouble of inventing time travel? As military tacticians, they seem pretty stupid. When the rebels saw that Skynet had sent a Terminator back to the past, why didn't they just send someone back 5 minutes and just explode the time machine before the Terminator was sent? Oh, and I happen to be friends with the Biehn family. Michael, his wife and child live not too far from me. My wife and I visit them from time to time. Great guy.

If the events in each cycle are completely identical then whether you say 1 or infinite becomes meaningless. The individuals just live that 1 life. The family tree becomes a circle, but the individual circle elements have a beginning (birth) and end (death) - doesn't matter in which calendar year either happens. They don't and can't have "memories" from "previous" "cycles". Person A has kid B and B is then mother of A - the family tree is a cycle - but they don't consciously iterate through cycles. Both A and B just live their lives effectively once. Both person stay dead after death. The sequence of events - regardless of how complicated the knot looks - stays the same. So there's just 1 set of events for all relevant purposes. That's why the commenter (who I agree with) argued against repeating cycles.

regarding the age thing, I kind of assumed that his parents survived a bit longer, a few years maybe, but killed themselves eventually. In my head Trevelyan wasn't born in '46, but probably closer to the 50's. Idk it made sense to me that they had Alec while in hiding (kind of?) but the "shame" he mentions caught up with them. This would put him in his 40's at the time of Goldeneye but yeah. I never thought too hard about the timeline until you mentioned it.

I think Michael J. Fox works quite well as Marlene if you don't know about it. I've been watching BTTF2 since I was nearly a toddler and it took me years to realize that was Fox playing her. I'd always just assumed she was played by an actress with a strong build and happened to look like Marty. Also speaking as someone who is transgender, the scenes with Marlene never came across as mean or anything, more just a cute callback that pretty much everyone in the McFly family looks like Marty including the women :P

The Doc really doesn't learn his lessons. Throughout the movies he wanted nothing more than to destroy the DeLorean but in the end he ends building another time machine out of a train which is far more dangerous. Breaking News! Train collides with another train that seemingly came from nowhere.

9:36 - If you had played the BTTF video game that was released a few years ago, it explains this and several other things, but also creates more questions! Some nice person added all of the cut scenes into one long movie length video and uploaded it onto UA-cam and called it Back the the Future 4...look for that! 17:12 - BttF2 is my favourite film! It has it all, crossed lines with doubles and all that shet plus that genius ending sequence at the dance and outro. Let alone the fact that I was born 10 years before the first movie came out, so was waiting for 2015 to come around for all those decades! To find a woke wasteland we have today...lol 26:01 - Well then, how many Jiggabytes does your phone have in storage capacity? Not Gigabytes. Also, the inventor to GIF pronounced it as Jif because in computers back in the day and even to this day deep down, the .GIF is lower-cased. So it is a J not a G.

Time is a gravity well and you are traveling in that 4th dimensional gravity well. You can walk all over in a plane without flying off into the air without worrying about the plane moving. Time travel is a 4 dimensional version of that 3 dimensional example.

The problem with the car is that you are not thinking 4th dimensionally, as doc would probably say. In 1955 they find and fix whats broken before marty heads off. In 1885 they can now do nothing to the burried car as it would cause a paradox. Because marty and doc ciuld simply have told 1955 selves to 'oh yeah bring extra gas.' When storing the car, doc would have drained whatever gas was in there anyway as it would e entually evaporate over 70 years.
