pls tell me u cried to this one too bc someone in the community favs said it was CORNY and then i cried again
If you want to cry listen to the og mix ( not remastered ) of ghost pop by Devon Hendrix( jpegmafia old stuff)
i cried the second time listening to the title track, when i actually listened to the lyrics and paid attention
this is def a VALID crying album
Hi path love your vids ❤
Nope, the last track got me crying like a baby
As a big J. Cole fan its wholesome seeing someone discover Eyez 7 years later.
Bro🤞
I love sseing people react to this amazing album ❤
Can’t stand people that hate on J Cole. One of the best ever easily. Such a beautiful album
There’ll always be haters, this is true in any field unfortunately 😢
when this came out i was a firm believer that this a 0 skip album still am
who hates jcole??? ive never heard anyone say they dislike jcole
@@Galaxyyy420there’s plenty of people
@@Galaxyyy420everyone has haters

This is an album written by Cole from the perspective of his close friend who died. Something like a last note to his daughter to listen to when she’s older.. Hands down my fav Cole album. Such a tear jerker
No it’s by his cousin not his close friend.
lol ok semantics guy 😂😂 at a certain age a select few close friends get the title of uncle/ cousin in my family. Must be different where your from?
@@highinside4757 yeah I have some of those in my family, this isn’t that though, if you ever listened to the album you’d know that.
@@AtlMarcusno its his best friend bot
There’s just something about J. Cole. His ability to emotionally resonate through lyrics, voice inflection, tone, beat selection, and just over all genuine disposition. It’s unmatched in modern rap imo.
its real soul music
his ability to just yapp is just good
When Folding Clothes came out, the HipHopHead subreddit was going in on Cole for "who wants to hear about someone folding clothes?"
But its such a love song. Imagine wanting to fold clothes with someone. Imagine that being something you enjoy doing because you like being with them so much that chores feel like a moment.
This album came at a point of my life where I was so wanting to love. I genuinely miss the person I was when it came out.
Ngl DEHH gave me a great perspective on why that song exists. It's such a minor thing, and yet some insecure 'manly' men won't help their wives fold clothes because it's generally seen as emasculating.....Cole being willing to actively want to fold clothes for his S.O. shows how much he loves them and is willing to reject toxic notions of what is considered masculine for her sake.
Still don't like the song, but I appreciate and admire the sentiment alot.
Reminds me of a powerful line in the movie Everywhere Everything All At Once “In another life I would’ve loved doing laundry and taxes with you”
Yessss
The song directly correlates with the first song of the album where he says you either live a fast life or a long one unfulfilled. IN folding clothes hes realized that the long life is fulfilling
Hmm, album came out I wasn’t messing w it, but this persepctive opened me to it. When it came out I was in my first relationship, 15. On weekends where I had to do laundry, we’d go together and she’d help me and make the time go by like it was nothing.
i remember a lot of people hating on this album when it came out because it didn't have any songs you could bump to and you really had to listen, till this day its one of my favorite cole albums.
wym people dont bump to Foldin Clothes ???
@@pathreactslol its definitely a vibey song ngl
Aye bro, I bump at least 3 songs from this album everyday; at the gym, hooping, and especially when I’m at peace somewhere

I cried to this album, it really made me appreciate my dad
god, tell me abt it. right after writing notes for this vid, i visited my parents and they told me abt how hard it was to raise me while they were young, without much money & while getting an education. parents can be incredible, the love and motivation to make a good life for their children is so heartwarming
Kendrick songs are way better made me cry a river 😭
@@jc-zp1de no point of comparing both of them are the best in the game
I did, too. It made think about my close friend...

It's not about him it's about his friend who passed away

she skipped over that line which is crazy
this is the first video i've seen of yours, best album review i've ever watched i think, i love your editing style, how you dont stop, just dull and soften the song while talking, how you explain what you took from the song in a calm voice over, and its obvious you read what the tracks are about after you listen instead of just giving your initial thoughts based off first listen. also great album choice :) amazing video 10/10
Wow, thank you! Warm welcome :)
@@pathreactshonestly this is really dope
@@pathreactsliterally my favorite reaction video 😭
Same here. Keep doing you!
Frr
This is genuinely one of the best reactions I've seen for any album. It felt like I was listening to the album for the first time again. This has always been one of my favorite albums oat but this reaction has showed me more things to love about it. Your emotions are so raw and genuine you can really tell how much you appreciate music.
Wow, thank you 🥹
Personal album for Cole that a lot of people didn't mess with, same as Mr Morale and The Big Steppers by Kdot
literally do not understand how people dont connect with either of these. i love them sm
tbh i think this is the only genuinely good cole album, most of his other stuff to me is just meh, good songs sparkled in between but extremely inconsistent
@@pathreactsI love both records but I have friends and most of them only care about production. It’s sad cuz sometimes I feel bad for what they missin on. I’ll put on 4yeo and they say it’s ass cuz they think it’s a boring beat and too long. Many people only care about production and I hope someday that people will dig past that and see how much more there is to music
@@JuanAndOn1yy yeah as someone who was previously exclusively in the EDM scene, i love & am drawn to production as well, so i can get that. but i actively try to take a more holistic approach to music now. a lot goes into it & a lot can be appreciated!
@@javiartemForrest hill drive???? Your crazy

Thank you Path for dropping this btw ☺️
100% can’t wait
I think that what she said in that censor at 22:31
My wife was pregnant with our first child, our daughter, when this came out and to this day I can't listen to either "She's mine" without getting teary eyed
it reached you at the perfect time
@pathreacts 100%!
I dont think i ever truly appreciated the structure of an album until this one. She's mine pt.2 is filled with love and hope for the future and then the last song hits. Absolutely devastating
I was in a hospital bed, recovering from meningitis. I almost died. I woke up after 2-3 days and my GF was curled up on the couch in my room. She was the first one there. This album came out the day I woke up and when I listened to she’s mine I started crying just seeing her sleeping. That’s when I decided I was gonna marry her. That was 7 years ago. We’re married with 2 kids now. She’s mine parts 1/2 make me tear up to this day.
@erwinguerra3981 That's amazing, true love is something special! Listen to these songs when I'm in a rough spot and they help me through it
I absolutely love She's Mine Pt.1 and Pt.2. It's beautifully done and makes for a lovely story. Great reaction!
I personally think that the title track is one of the greatest rap songs of all time. I actually like it more than Sing About Me because you can tell he was emotional when recording some of these lines. Everything about it is a masterpiece.
Amazing storytelling
woah woah woah, though I agree, but comparing it to SAMIDOT is a crime

This album came out my senior year of highschool where I felt lost as hell. Had no idea where I was gonna go with my life and I didn't even see myself getting past highschool, listening to this album on repeat in class really made me think about what it is I'm actually even doing with my life. I still don't have anything figured out but this was definitely something that helped me past that point
thank you for sharing

Seeing someone appreciate this album for what it is... A story from the perspective of a lost friend, that tells the ups and downs, the truly terrible and absolutely magical parts of life. Seeing your genuine emotions for this album has been the best part of this video
(album reaction) !!! Kindly ' I Love It Here ' by Nasty C , who’s Nasty C? he is regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time in both South Africa and Africa , as well as one of the most influential rappers of his generation by a variety of sources
hands down one of the most beautiful albums of all time
This album is really underrated. A lot more mellow and chill. Also 4YEO is one of my favourite songs; it's definitely Cole's SAMIDOT.
This album is not underrated most people debate whether this album or forest hill drive is his best album so how's it underrated.. y'all be throwing the underrated word around it's hilarious
@@Chille10 "Most people" being Cole fans. From general audiences, this album isn't appreciated nearly as much as it should be. This album made the "J Cole makes sleeping music" shit more prominent.
I just looked at some rankings online, and people are putting it at: 6/10, 6/8, and 6/8 for where it sits amongst his other projects.
@@curlbeats1670as a Coke fan. This is my second favorite release. If you include mixtapes, Friday Night Lights will be on the top, 4YEO, The Warm Up, Born Sinner, and Truly Yours and my top 5 of Cole’s discography
@Chille10 a bit late, but I don't think you realise how many people hate on this album. Great reaction though, I think it's his best album
man this channel got to be one of the best music reaction channels on youtube, the amount of media literacy is insane and I love how you try and analyze and interpret the albums you react too, which isn't usually the case with most youtube channels that make the same content you do, so this is a really nice change of pace and I hope you make more album reactions in the future cuz they're always so fun to come back too.
wow 🥹 thank you for the kind words
Cole sat in the same spot for 12 hours to rewrite the story of his best friend's death for the final track. The devotion to James' legacy is unmatched, that's love
absolutely love this album, one of his best works. overall just feels so emotional and impactful
PATH, I APPRECAITE YOU DOING J COLE

@@pathreacts It's not me, but I'm sure that Eric loves Cole as much as I do! 😂
@@pathreacts please react to the call for 2014 Forest Hills Drive! I bet you'll tear up by the end too! and if you do get to it, you need to finish the outro, all 14 mins.
I genuinely love watching people listen to this album for the first time. If I could go back and listen to the first time over again, that would be amazing.
This style of reacting is something very new to me since i dont see it often, I love it.
As an Italian usually the language barrier is strong when I listen to US rap but the first time I listened to this title track was really an eyes opening experience, I understood the song word for word and it genuinely made me cry, still a tough listen every time (in a good way obv), what an amazing track
One of my favorite albums ever, J. Cole really is one of those artists who changed my life. Gave a young 16 year old me a positive role model/hero to look up to in a music industry filled with so much hate
Change became one of my favorite songs of J.Cole's, not only because the topic and the instrumentals but on a more personal level. in 2020, I lost a friend named James and he was 22, so hearing that part after his passing made an emotional connection I never thought I would have
This is arguably the most underrated album in his discography. 4 your eyez only is one of his best closing tracks imo.
PATH REACTING TO 4YEO gonna come back to this masterpiece after work ☝️💯
see u later :)
i love your reactions because i get to read the lyrics and listen, which is something i struggle to do on my own. so when i read something my fuck ass ears wildly misinterpreted the whole song starts making more sense LMAO. also your breakdowns and community favorites help a ton. multiple perspectives breed clarity and understanding.
with that being said, this is my favorite cole album. this is the one that cemented him as one of my top 10 rappers. his other projects are undoubtedly good, but just like gkmc, this is a storytelling album. i LOVE storytelling albums. i get to picture everything in my head. and i love when artists use their platforms to share what its like growing up in hoods and underprivileged communities. it really takes someone from the inside to tell the story so that people everywhere understand what it's like. it's tragic and it's terrifying and children shouldn't have to grow up with that fear but it's unfortunately its all a lot of our families can really settle for. especially nowadays this rent is brutal.
but anyway, i'll shut up now. thanks for sharing this reaction, i got to enjoy some coffee and listen to good music and learn a little more than i knew. video was awesome. dig into more of his music, he's truly one of the greatest rappers of our generation.
goodnight all
frick yeah we love j cole here !
Never heard of this person before but she came up on my feed. Level of respect is high and she gained a new follower. Cole is number one on my list and this album is a classic thank you for this video!
i personally love this album more than 2014 forest hills drive. the messages, story, and emotion capture my ears like no other j.cole album

Every time I return to this album I cry all over again, especially on the title track. Still an absolute masterpiece. Im really glad you see so much of the beauty and artistry in this album and were able to react to this one, it really resonates a lot with me as the time goes by
This is my all time favorite album by my all time favorite artist. I listen to this album 2-3 times a week. I cried when I first heard and. I cry the 100,000th time. The way you described each song with such graciousness and eloquence brought even more tears to my eyes.
Thank you (you gotta new sub)
Beautiful. Not just the album but your reaction . Loved the breakdown and commentary , this album definitely was beautiful, but I absolutely loved your analysis , glad I discovered your channel, cant wait to watch more of these ❤
Favorite person to watch reacts of. By far.
One of my fav from cole❤
i remember being in middle school and my childhood friend who I refer as my bigger brother showed me this when went to our usual road trip to Massachusettes. the ending made us both just silent the whole ride. I'm now 18 and him 21 sadly he moved to Massachusettes when I was in 7th grade. I visited in my junior year of highschool and we listened to the whole album once again as grown men. yet still we sat silent in the end.
Change is an underated cole track, all verses are on point + the hook is infectious
One of my favorite albums from J Cole 🔥.
At some point people started thinking it was cool to hate on j cole. Hes truly one of the best ever
Not one of his most popular albums because of how melodic and emotional it is, but it's in my top 3 Cole tapes
I’m so glad you decided to react to this album
One of my all time favorites 👏
Such an intellectual and beautiful breakdown of this album. I wish more people appreciated this album like you did!
This is 1000% my favorite album from him and I cry every time I re-listen to the whole thing. I’m really glad you enjoyed it!

FINALLY A COLE REACTION this album is soooo good
amazing, path. had never given j cole a chance. this was fantastic. always grateful for your friendship, and your wisdom, and heart, mind, ears. grateful to be in it w you. ✌️❤️
I’m a massive J Cole fan and I’ve listened to this album and all of his songs god knows how many times and never shed a tear. But listening to it and watching with your reaction and commentary made me associate myself with the album so much more than before which is something I’ve never experienced before, it was like listening to the album for the first time again and making my tear up. Your voice really was so soothing through the video and honestly sounded like it belonged on the album because it was so intricate and raw. I wish you nothing but success, thank you❤️
This album is very special to me. I listened to it a year after my older brother was murdered. It helped me grieve a lot, especially the titular song, and I still listen to that song every so often.
I LOVE THIS! J.Cole is my favorite artist of all time and this album as well as his others have done so much for me in life. Cole is for the mind, Kendrick is for the soul, drake is for the confidence
Great reacting style. Unique to you. Props
This gave me tears all over again. Great reaction I needed this, thank you.
You are such an awesome reactor. I love how you put those community notes and put your thoughts in the background without fully pausing the music. Instantly subbed
This is the first video I have seen of yours but all I can say is this is my favorite reaction, I have how you take you heard from the song and explain it in a peaceful and passionate voice and I also love how you look at the lyrics to see what the song is about
found this album on a whim about a week back and WOW, it instantly became a top 3, minimum. for the most part i was just jammin out cause the sound is immaculate, but by she’s mine part 2 i was definitely tearing up a little bit. the title track, though, is insane. i’m not growing up in the ville, i’ve not experienced hardship anywhere near what’s described in this album, but even still, being a young man terrified of mortality and the possibility (however unlikely) of dying too young, i was fighting back tears on the bus ride home (and i 100% stopped fighting once i got home). and then, not only does this album hit me with all that, but it recontextualizes everything that just happened, forcing you to think again about everything you just heard in a new, heartbreaking light. perfect album
Shame mmm mmm mm who tf don’t know jermane Cole
Yesssss I am so glad you listened to this. 4YEO is truly a work of art.
I've never seen anyone do reactions the way you do, it's super creative and thoughtful and your voice is so soothing. I'm really glad I found your channel! This is an amazing album, I feel like it doesn't get the love it deserves. I saw Cole live for the first time when he was touring this album, on my birthday, and it made me fall in love with these songs even more.
I love your understanding and interpretations of every song individually and how the album is shaped as a whole. I've enjoyed every single one of your reviews and can't wait to see more! I reccomend you check out another mac miller album or joey bada$$ album.

My favorite J Cole album! I listen to these songs often and it still gave me chills to watch you react to them.
Cool thing, about "Immortal", is that in the hook after "real niggas dont die" Cole says "1745", which seems like a very random line, however if you go 17 minutes 45 seconds from that real niggas dont die, were placed in a direct contrast to the line as 17:45 after that line we're placed in James' funeral at the end of "change", who Cole described as a real nigga in the last line of the album. Whether it was on purpose or not its a pretty cool thing i always think about when i hear that song
wow, thank you for sharing!!!
i was just listening to this album literally 2 mins ago lol
I just found out about your channel, and I really like your style of reactions! I feel like seeing your initial reaction with afterthoughts/community responses of a song is very well organized. Now, onto the album. I re-listened to the album upon opening the video. I did NOT give this full credit the first time. I feel like this album is a message of J. Cole opening his heart to the people listening to the album. Hearing traumatic events from his past, writing love letters in the songs about his wife and talking about newborn child at the time. The message of this girl losing her father is heartbreaking, and nearly drove me to tears multiple times. Specifically "4 your eyez only" which is one of my favorite songs of all time upon re-listen. I feel like this song serves as a time capsule for both Cole and James's daughters, to which "4 your eyez only" is alluding to being exclusive messages for them. I feel like this album really helps bring the message of your parents being important figures in your life, and will do anything to make you feel better.
You just made me appreciate this album more. Thank you ❤
Glad to see you put so much work and care to this video. Is my favorite ablum and will forever be-
