hi im friend redza :)
hi redza big fan 🥰🥰🥰
edit: STREAM REDZA'S COVER OF GLIMPSE OF US soundcloud.com/redza/glimpse-of-us
Redza is so talented :)
Another certified Path cries album.
die for you is literally one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard from Joji, surprised how mature this project felt. one of my favorite albums from last year, which sucks because many people didnt like this when dropped lol
some people think it was released to end his contract with 88rising, though i still very much enjoy and love his growth in production and vocals :))
@@lando1496 the producer & writers for most of the songs are the people from 88rising, so idk why Joji fans think they have beef with them. im pretty sure if Joji didn't like being there, he would already left by now
@@inyour_wetdreams unsure of the full context, but it seems like a problem with 88rising as a business and its contracts vs the individuals that work for them. i think some genius lyric interpretations for "YUKON" have stuff on that though am skeptical
@@lando1496 based on my observation i don't think 88rising is the typical business corporation music label that people are used to in America because they started as a media company, Sean (the CEO) said that all the people signed are pretty much free to do anything they want, but idk how much of that changed over the last few years
@@inyour_wetdreams i dont think it works like that. plus the fact that the songs are written and produced by 88rising is the problem. it just feels like, a average pop album instead of something creative and genius that Joji is capable of making
I knew Die For You was going to connect with you but WOW 🥲🥲
🥲
joji's artistic evolution has been crazy to see. seeing him transform from a UA-camr to a full prolific artist is amazing to see.
i’ve been a fan through all of it, from frank to joji. i feel like i’ve grown up with him
This latest album was a regression in his evolution if anything, especially compared to Nectar
@@Criiies Definitely. SMITHEREENS felt unfinished and rushed. It was very disappointing. Even Pink Season was a better album.
quadeca had a much more insane transformation tbh but yeah i 100% agree
@@otinauj this exactly! I 100% agree 👍🏻
Joji’s “In Tongues” album is the one of the few albums in which I’ve added every song to my playlist. It’s chalk full of emotion, you gotta give it a listen
this but with nectar
My passed relationships have taught me that not everyone you meet is meant to stay in your life forever. Some people we meet in our lives are meant to teach us things and make great memories with us but not to be there forever and that’s okay. I think if you can become comfortable with accepting that even when things end the time you shared is still very valuable and meaningful, and that it simply wasn’t meant to last forever.
It's true that not all the people we meet in life will stay with us forever, and that's completely normal. The experiences and memories we make with people can still hold great value and meaning, even if the relationship doesn't last. Accepting this can help us to focus on the positive aspects of our relationships and to cherish the time we have with others, rather than feeling disappointment or sadness when things come to an end. It's great that you have learned this lesson and are able to appreciate the value of your past relationships.
This hits
Nectar is still one of my most played albums 2 years later so I’m excited to see you check that out.
Thanks for being vulnerable during these reactions. Makes it feel 10x more genuine
5:07 After listening to Die For You for awhile, it finally hit me one day that 'die for you' in the chorus meant "I'd die for you if it makes you happy" and my reaction was basically the same as yours after that
Preemptive comment, but OH MAN I've been waiting for this!
Joji has been, hands down, one of my favorite and most celebrated artists, both in sound and story; he had such a crazy interney journey, but the end result landed him where he wanted to be and now he's living his best life.
Thank you for giving his music a listen!
It's inspiring to hear about his journey and how he was able to overcome obstacles and achieve his goals. I agree, his music and story are truly captivating. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed giving his music a listen
Joji is amazing. So Happy you are reacting to this.
this woman has the sweetest voice i've heard in a while
Joji made our childhood as filthy frank and now makes us cry with his music. The amount of talent this man has is incredible
"Same things that make us laugh, make us cry."
-Big Smoke
I really think you'd love the last James Blake album, Friends that Break Your Heart. It's extremely well produced, James is a really good lyricist and has an amazing voice. SZA and JID are also featured on the album.
And Joji as well is involved with the song "Life is not the same"
Seconded! I went to a concert with James earlier this year, amazing experience
Thirding. Top 5 album for me that has released in the last few years.
@@mwilly4929 now that I agree with
Oh my god, I second this!
Nectar and Ballads 1 are ones you should not miss out on. Most of Joji's heart wrenching moments are present on these two albums. Would love for you to react to it! maybe with music videos? could be fine either way.
it’s so hard not to shed a tear to die for you, to this day it’s such a strong track and one of my favorite joji songs. good listen and can’t wait for the future joji reactions from you!
This album is such a balance of love, pain, healing, and letting go, and It means so much to me. I loved watching this and hearing what you thought of it. thank you for the great videos!
Saba - Care For Me
One of my favorite albums of all time
Care for Me reaction finna go crazy. The whole album crazy, one of my favorite artists from Chicago and one of my favorite concept albums ever.
The one serious relationship I was in taught me that I was too pretentious and judgmental for my own good. I used to think that breaking up was the worst idea ever, but now I can think about our relationship fondly and feel happy knowing that I can be a better person to someone else in the future.
nice insight
your reactions always make me feel like i'm listening to an album for the first time all over again, i seriously loved this one! i didn't click with this album immediately as much as i did with joji's previous, but it's definitely grown on me. as i listen to it more the tracks start to flow together and really complete each other just so well. can't wait to see what you react to next !!
ive addicted to these reactions since MM, keep it up! Also, to answer your question, it's simply that sometimes the healthiest manifestation of truly mutual love between two people is friendship, and nothing more.
WE NEED SOME MAC MILLER RECTIONS(album -circles) and kid cudi(man on the moon trilogy) . cute cat :))
I agree completely I think she would love circles
Jojis been my favorite artist for 4-5 years now and seeing other people enjoy his music makes me so happy
i swear you have the calmest voice ever 😂 love your videos!!
Waiting on your reaction of the new SZA album SOS , i have a feeling you’re going to love it. Great reaction
"Die for you" is such a beautiful song 🥺
i really wanna know how they got the piano to sound SO chilling
@@herothehedgefox ikr best part of the son
I appreciate the work you been putting in cause I know how much goes into each video
thank u breezy :)
Glimpse of Us still one of the best songs of 2022
Die For You made me cry as well, and still hits me time to time. Probably my favorite Joji track. Hope you check out his earlier work!
I’ve hopped from reactor to reactor since Covid, and your genuine reactions combined with wise synopses on each track makes you the best on UA-cam that I’ve seen, period.
listening to Joji after a break up always makes people cry. his voice is so soothing but also he knows how to make us so sad with his music lmao
YUKON made me cry the first time I heard it. Dope ass record fr
i loved how genuine this reacción was, the emotion die for you gave me, was an experience few songs can give me, one of them being ivy of franks oceans second studio album blonde, i’d love to watch you react to that masterpiece of an album, keep up the good work
I started watching you this year and genuinely your commentary on the albums you have uploaded is really insightful and I’m appreciative of how much you come into these suggested albums with an open mind.
I remember listening to this album and really enjoying the concept and how it was executed but a little frustrated he didn’t wait to release these and flesh out more than a few tracks that are great ideas but leave much to be desired. Overall I really enjoyed this album and it was great to go from listening to Smithereens to another album I feel like you’ll enjoy. Quadeca’s “I Didn’t Mean To Haunt You” is such a beautiful masterpiece with a concept that is executed with near perfection. It’s a very enjoyable listen and I have seen a few others suggest it, I really hope you give it a listen as your commentary on it is something I have wanted for a while! If you read this thanks for taking the time to listen to your community suggestions and I hope you have a great year for your channel this 2023!
I swear Joji is following my life. He seems to release the most heart breaking, poignant songs/singles/albums right when my life seems to take that turn. Why Joji, why?!?! 😭
die for you is really a masterpiece
A little sad that this is your first Joji experience as tbh he makes better individual songs than projects, and he does have better albums but still, I did like this project. Can't wait to see what's next!
It makes me extremely sad to agree with you on that.
at least it was a positive first experience haha
i got similar comments about how MMBS was a weird intro to kendrick, but i dont feel like it has made a huge impact on how i feel abt him as an artist! curious to hear how you think order matters for joji tho?
@@pathreacts i don't think here the order matters. I agree with prodbyLVR that joji makes very nice individual songs but his albums as a whole are meh. I just go and like the songs I vibe with and move on haha
@@pathreacts well to me I feel like SMITHEREENS was a step down from the level of cohesion in his previous albums (although that's not saying much), and I think that does hurt him a little when you look at his discography as a whole. To me I'd start with BALLADS 1 and go up from there (and even though In Tongues has some bangers, again, Joji flourishes when it comes to individual songs, and it isn't great all around, so I'd keep it as a small afterthought). Starting with SMITHEREENS hurts because I truly believe it's not his best and personal it's might leave a lasting impression that he isn't a great artist, because he does have better LPs
I feel like I'm coming across a little harsh xD so I'll just say that I really really enjoy Joji and have over the years, and as a fan it has kinda made me a little critical of him as an artist.
Also I'm making it seem like In Tongues is a bad place to start your Joji journey. It's not, I just prefer BALLADS 1 lol
Still one of my favorite reactions to go back to. 😭❤
The analysis really put this reaction together so well.
So glad this reaction came out ❤
i love your take on this, ive listened a lot of times some of the songs but i like how you emphasize on some of the details and that makes me want to jump back again to the album
i've been waiting this reation so much time and i really enjoy and love the way you react the album greetings from Mexico.
Joji has such an amazing and beautiful voice, glad he went into the music industry
Your reaction to Die For You was incredible! Great video, incredible editing, keep it up!
this is my first time listening to a joji album, and I'm happy to listen it here, especially after listening good kid maad city in this channel.
Not sure if you’ve gotten recommended this before but Quadeca released arguably one of the best albums this year. It’s a conceptual album that has deep meaning/story that I think you’d really enjoy. Always love the videos
SHE NEEDS TO LISTEN TO "I didn't mean to haunt you" cuz fantasyworld, picking up hands are just so filled with colour and even as far as the visuals for the album. It's all so good
was looking for this comment, hopefully she checks it out
bump
This!!!
i was gonna say the same thing
I'm so glad i found this channel, such a different vibe for a reaction channel and these videos all just give me so much serotonin
Oh my, yes more joji album reaction and breakdown !!
Glad you enjoyed it! I personally don't like it as much as other albums of his, since it didn't feature many tracks produced by him, unlike the other projects, but I am a huge fan of Joji, so I would absolutely love to see you react to them! Thanks path
this actually was such an amazing take on it, im going to see him in london this year and the love of my life broke up with me and its gonna be a year when i see him. i hope his concerts helps me finally let go. she was such an amazing person but i have so much to fix about myself. hearing you talk about the album and explain it. just made me break but in a good way thank you.
I'm really glad that I got the opportunity to discover your channel because I adore the attention to detail of the instrumentals and the meaning behind the lyrics in these songs. I also love your own insight you give us to let us know what your personal thoughts are. I'm really liking your vibe! its very comfy too.
Glad you enjoy it! :)
@@pathreacts will binge watch all your videos tonight >:^)
BROOO I OUT LOUD YELLED AT YOU NOT TO CRY NOW HERE WE ARE BOTH CRYING! 😂😭
I just love your channel
O yeah I’ve been waiting for this. Fire video btw🔥
I think your reactions actually help me appreciate songs i use to not enjoy as much… Thanks!
I remember when this album came out, it came out the same day my ex wanted to call it quits. I remember looking for reactions all the time for this album as it comforted me through the breakup, and it’s still as good as from when I first heard it. Thank you so much for reacting to this, and keep up the amazing content path.
Would love to see you react to more Joji! Great discussions on the songs, was so fun hearing your inputs!
I listen Joji since his beggining and still i like every song he make. It's just always amazing.
so comforted by the atmosphere of his music
ur voice is so soothing
This was an unexpected but welcome suprise in my subscription feed, I'm glad that you enjoyed the album as much as I did
This video with jojis music plus your voice Is soothing in a good way tbh
This is more like an EP but if this is Joji's sound right now I really want a full length album. This Joji is deferent than what we have seen in the past. I cannot also ignore the fact this album ended way too fast.
I've been out of a relationship for 3 months now, and constantly hearing these songs make me hurt so much, yet I can't help but want to listen to them. I really appreciate music that can make me feel this way.
yet another great reaction, I love this album, my only complaint with the album is that it's not longer, which is more so a testament to how good it is, at least to me
path your reactions are always so smart and emotionally intelegent
omg thanks i was waiting for this one :)
hearing your voice really makes me addicted, to be honest your sound is charming❤
This album is phenomenal, it's literally what every guy dreads and that's what makes it so emotional. Only Joji has the ability to make even single people feel like they experienced fifteen consecutive breakups. I'm so proud of seeing his career spike in such a positive way from his UA-cam days to his music career.
Can't wait for another joji's album reaction from you !! love this one sm !! :))
Glimpse of Us made me cry way too much
GOODMORNING AND I LOVE JOJI YAY
“I feel like sonically Joji and I are on the same level, right? A lot synth and a lot of piano and a lot of vocal, like playing with the vocals” explains exactly why I love this album so much!
Can't help but think of James Blake's You're Too Precious during NIGHT RIDER's refrain, both because of the lyrics but also the way the vocal sounds. Gets me longing for a collaboration between the two, the unexpected collab like Joji x Bonobo that actually came to fruition
It’s been a while since I watched one of your videos but you do not disappoint at all!! I love your break down of each songs and your interpretations!! This album came out right after my fiancé and I separated so it definitely hit hard, the progression of wanting to still be with that person to just wanting them to be happy with or without you because you genuinely love them. This album is so good. I’m gonna go catch up on the videos I’ve missed!!
welcome back ;v;
a music mukbang, genius description. this is the kind of content i'm trying to look for.
Seeing Joji grow as an artist in both skill and popularity as well as evolving beyond what he started his career is quite the journey. My opinion on his music fluctuates from album to album but I’ve always managed to pull enjoyment from his music. Great artist, great vid! Would love to see your opinions on his previous albums and older SoundCloud stuff.
Much like joji's other albums, I fell in love with smithereens the moment i listened to it. It's a superb album and I haven't been able to stop listening
didn't love this album as much as joji's previous work but excited to see your reaction to it!!
My last relationship definitely taught me to have a kinder, more accepting relationship towards myself. Before that I really allowed myself to get treated terribly, without standards or boundaries. I really like this video, it's nice to hear your thoughts on each track. Die For You got me too
THANK YOU SO MUCH
hi path, I just wanted to thank you for your help. Your reviews / content greatly inspires the structure and cohesion of my own reviews. You are a light in a dark industry. Do ur thing, all love, -Real :)
You seem so sweet you crying to die for you broke my heart I hope I can find someone that loves and breathes music like you do ❤
'glimpse of us' really just puts everything into perspective, such a powerful song. would love to hear ur thoughts on more joji tracks
amazing vid, I remember I watched one of your first reactions on the channel, I believe it was After Hours or another weeknd album. Dope to see youve been going strong, reaching alot of ppl. keep it uppp
first time watching one of your videos and I love the content!!!
I cant explain with words the first time I heard Die For You. I had the same reaction as you and the song just felt right.
certified Joji fanboy here and i strongly recommend listening to his discography in chronological order from In Tongues to Nectar. I think it best showcases his incredible growth as an artist and makes you realllllly appreciate Nectar as his magnum opus. Joji is incredible and im glad u loved this album bc, as much as i loved it and love joji, i was severely disappointed in how lackluster this album was. in a way, maybe it was best that you started with this because you had no expectations for what joji "should be" going into this album.
I remember when I went to his concert at Gunnersbury Park. He sang Die For You like 5 times cause the crowd begged for it till the end. Everybody cried every time he sang it. i wanna revisit this album man.
you album reactions should be free always giving me new insight to songs i enjoy
Man you have such a soothing voice..
I love his album but your voice OMG i love it
I have just stumbled upon this video at 1AM I am very tired and wanting to sleep but having thoughts in the back of my head keeping me up. I have definitely found a new favorite youtube channel of mine and I will be falling asleep to these videos when I struggle to doze off.
I just went through a breakup and the songs on this album hit really hard. Glimpse of us makes me tear up listening to it because I made a video of her and I to that song. Die for you also hit really hard too because it's such selfless song for someone to write. Crazy how much music can resonate with us humans!
Feedback: you should leave the text on the screen a bit longer as it goes off quicker than I can fully read it :) this was a really nice watch though!
Seeing you like that makes me wanna cry 😭😭😭
Your setup is very cool!
Not sure where to put recommendations but I have been binge watching your videos and I am LOVING them. I think a PERFECT album for you to react to would be Care for Me by Saba. It’s not that long of an album but it’s brilliant both musically and conceptually. Hope you give it a shot!!
idk how to describe how i feel for smithereens, songs like glimpse of us and die for you are some of my favorite songs in general but a lot of the rest of the album felt somewhat unfinished? I love joji's voice and the topic of the album as a whole but it just felt like some songs needed more time, also something a past relationship taught me was that i really need to learn to say no to people and im unfortnately too forgiving
9:51 im far more capable of loving someone than i thought i was
im so glad i found your channel! joji has been one of my favorite artists for so long and im glad you appreciated this album as much as i did, much love 🫶
please do nectar. there's so much to unpack and so much to appreciate. joji's most theatrical and grand project to date.
can't wait for you to review nectar. it's my favorite album by far!
