I'm not gonna lie, reaction channels are so boring and oversaturated these days. But you, you bring something different to the scene. Between the little stuff like the artistic intro you did, not pausing every 3 seconds to talk about how hard it goes, etc, to providing the initial reaction as well as voice over breakdowns and your interpretations, you're one of the most unique reactors I've seen in a long time!
Your reactions are a unique breath of fresh air in a rather over saturated genre. You’re providing a perspective we don’t often get as you seem very musically inclined, and you also offer your raw emotional reactions which is appreciated. You appear to connect very deeply to the feelings music can evoke. You’ve probably had this recommended so many times, but frank ocean’s blond would be right up your alley
Def didn’t expect The Art of Peer Pressure to be one of the ones that made you cry but I definitely get it. This album changed my life because to a much lesser extent I was Kendrick in this album at the time of its release. I was caught up in drugs, almost arrested (thank god the cop was cool) and drifting further and further from my family, all to impress “the homies.” Now “the homies” are all gone. We love you Path!!! So proud of your growth!!! Edit: not necessarily at the time of release but in the coming years
“The art of peer pressure” is such a good demonstration of what peer pressure actually is. It’s really nothing like how adults or commercials portray it
you tearing up during the art of per pressure is exactly why i love Kendricks music. he's giving a peak into the very specific experience he's lived but the way he tells it the words he uses makes us all feel the resonation with not the experience itself but the feelings in those moments. "usually i'm drug free, but shit im with the homies" powerful as fuck
You picked up so much on the first listen. Don’t blame your self for not getting a lot of the lyrics. Kendrick has me hooked because I still find out more to this day.
remember before the pac poem in Mortal man Kendrick sings let me ask this question N****? and after he ends the poem with the question too because i think Kendrick wanted to us to make our own narrative mortal man ends with the question
Whatever blog that said this album isn't story driven must be the worst blog in existence... This is literally one of the best story telling albums of all time 🤣🤣😭
It's insane Kendrick followed this up with To Pimp a Butterfly. I remember in 2012 I didn't knew who Kendrick was hearing this I thought he must've been established already but when I checked I was shocked when I realized this was his 2nd STUDIO ALBUM. My mind was even blown away after that.
I can't emphasize enough how impressive this video is. Don't let anyone tell you this is anything less than filmmaking and music journalism. You've made an album I've heard countless of times just that much better.
Fun fact for Poetic Justice as well is not only is Janet Jackson a costar in the movie but she’s also the sample in the beat! The song sampled is Any Time, Any Place. I love your reactions. I’ve been a Kendrick fan for a long time and what I would give to be able to listen to GKMC for the first time again. It was great to live that vicariously through you and your unique perspective. Please keep doing these 😊

“This is 2012? Omg” i think this album holds 2nd place record for hip hop albums staying on the billboard 200 the longest (over 500 weeks), only behind an eminem album. It aged incredibly well. Also as far being afraid to do more kendrick because of comparing to mr morale goes, his entire discography is so good mr morale is on the lower end of it in my opinion 😂

Its pretty crazy how both of them went on wildly different paths. Kendrick dropped a top 5 rap album of all time, while Drake is now DM'ing youtube reactors that he disapproves of their existence lmaoo
Your videos are the closest a music reaction could get to a film. I almost feel like I'm watching a Agnes Varda documentary, narrating her experiences along what she hears and observes, with so much empathy within.

10 years later this album still means so much to me. I grew up with a lot of survivor's guilt, something you'll hear Kendrick speak on more if you listen to TPAB. This was reality for my cousins and best friends growing up in tough parts of Philly or Reading PA while I by a stroke of luck was born to the part of the family tree that made it out. This album is like a piece of some of them for me. A way to always have the loved ones I lost who tried their best to be the good kid but either couldn't make it out alive or are doing time behind bars. I'll always love my brothers and will always be grateful to Kendrick that in my opinion he chose to not only tell his story but their story too.
I absolutely love good kid. Fun fact, Kendrick plays off the term good kid by refraining from using a single curse word throughout the whole song. Genius
This album blew 12 year old me’s brain, it’s cool growing up and understanding the album with more depth but even now I can’t decide which song is my favorite, on every listen one bar sticks out to me and that song becomes my favorite in that point in time until life changes and I relate to a different bar in a different song. This album gets better with time and with experience absolutely insane you get to listen to it for the first time with the mental forté of a 25 yr old
I really appreciate the way you listen to music. Not only looking through other source material the artists released alongside the project but taking the time to tailor you mindset to the album. I think the artists who make the art would appreciate that as well. You have a very thoughtful approach to their discography and I appreciate the time to put into listening. (lowkey i wanna go back and change the amount of times I said "appreciate" but this isn't an essay lol)
what a great album, I got to see Kendrick Lamar in concert a few weeks ago, and I don't think anything will beat seeing Kendrick singing this album just feet in front of me.
there’s so much love poured into these videos, it almost feels like I’m reading a diary but also reading a research paper (in the best way possible) from all these details you add with the voice over, learning new things about this old ass album still in 2022: phenomenal work, your taste in editing is as good as your taste in music and opinions thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
I usually get touched when listening to this album (and other music), yet rarely moved to tears. But for some reason your reaction to and hearing the transition between Swimming Pools and Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst just made me bawl. Thank you, Path, for this reaction and your sincerity.
I think you missed the point of backseat freestyle, specifically the line "wifey girlfriend and mistress", the entire song is just him freestyling in the backseat of his friends car. He's not really cheating on any girl, he's just talking shit as a carefree kid. Experiencing this album after Mr morale seems kinda disorienting since this is when he was still just a child.
This is my favorite Kendrick album ever and one of the best hip hop albums of all time in my opinion so it was really awesome to see someone hear it for the first time again🔥This has become one of my favorite channels on UA-cam recently so I can’t wait to watch where your journey through hip hop takes you!!💜

I just discovered you today with this reaction because I’ve been binge watching previous Kendrick album reactions, and I fortunately came across your channel. You’re unlike any other reactor I’ve seen and am a huge fan of your commentary and unique perspective on everything. It’s amazing how quick you pick up on the wordplay and story. I love seeing someone experiencing Kendricks music and diving into all of the details and meanings. I get this feeling like it was me on your place listening to it for the first time again and it's wonderful. It's been 8 years since I've listened to this masterpiece for the first time and Sing About Me still always gets me.
Easily one of the best album reaction channels out there. The editing is amazing and it’s clear that you truly listen to each song and come out with your own analysis and opinions on each song
These reactions are great I cant wait for more and personally I think Sing about me might be his best song. Also a Saba - Care For Me reaction would be amazing.
34:04 OH MY!! YESSS!! you read that so perfectly, it is exactly a last track sounding like an introduction signifying it is a loop, that its not just his story, its a teen's story of life in compton and the problems you face at the end you hear the line of borrowing the van, beginning the story over again from the first track
You may think that you don't say a lot during your listening but this format is just perfect for you and us because you gather most of your thoughts on the editing afterwards while i can still understand just by watching you what that specific part made you feel or what you thought when he said that idk how to explain it but i just have the same kind of vibe so i feel like i can tell this stuff and i think a lot of people feel the same way here, definitely one of the best music reactors on youtube :)
I don’t know how I stumbled across your channel but it was so dope to see you experience this classic album. Made me remember the rush of feelings and emotions from the first time I heard it. Definitely subscribed immediately as the video finished. I really love how you don’t just try to hear the music but rather you try to understand it for what it is. I’m about to binge every video of yours but oh wow… I cannot wait until you experience To Pimp A Butterfly. It’s going to blow you away😊❤
Yo I’m 10 minutes in I just want to say your my favorite when it comes to album and music reaction and seeing you listen to bitch don’t kill my vibe which is still one of his best songs and how much you loved it was adorable and made me feel happy cause I love peoples reaction to listening to Kendrick and seeing how the feel or relate that song is how I lived my life after I graduated and still do a bit but he has always been the goat this and dam are my favorite albums by him I’ve listened to his whole discography like 8 times and yeah when you said you were afraid to listen to anything else cause you didn’t think it would live up to mr morale I freaked out a bit but not everyone is a hip hop head like I am this man is one of the goats the best rapper of this generation and you’ll find that out when you listen to the rest of his stuff keep up the good work your amazing and love the emotion you put out in this one so far keep it up. Ok after hearing you listen to it yeah this is my favorite Kendrick album and I don’t know if you listened to it but I always listen to the delux version of this album cause my favorite song on there is a bonus track which is one my favorite songs by him and on the album black boy fly if you haven’t listened to it I recommend you do I guarantee you’ll love it

I’ve been seeing your videos recommended to me for a bit now and haven’t gotten around to seeing one until now, I love this style of music reaction, it’s unique and different, love it
wonderful reaction! I highly recommend an album called Hazards of Love by The Decemberists. one of the best storytelling albums ever and hardly anyone reacts to it
Kendrick is my favorite artist of all time and I love how u react and actually listen to the message, lyrics and the music. Definitely listen to section 80, TPAB, and DAMN.
18:10 pharrell williams is a producer path, and he has made so many beats and songs youve probably heard already, he also worked with kendrick a bit throughout the career (look out for his beat on tpab!!), his signature is a quadruple repeat at the beginning of the beat, as oppossed to a producer tag, its pretty cool in my opinion
Your videos are a refreshing step back from mainstream music reaction channels. Great that you have such deep appreciation for everything you listen to, as opposed to other channels which vigorously pull apart every song and feel the need to rate everything and pause the song every couple of seconds. First video I’ve seen of yours and instantly subscribed.
Watching your reaction videos is like bringing back the feeling I got listening to all these albums for the first time, which is an amazing feeling so thank you and keep ‘‘em coming!
Im really impressed with your willingness to connect with the text. I'm excited to see your next reaction! I think it would be really cool to see you review Big Fish Theory by Vince Staples. It's one of my favorite albums ever and I think criminally underrated. The production is wholly unique, with influences from European electronic music and features from the likes of SOPHIE. Fascinating POV as well. ❤️
Such a good album. I really appreciate seeing you have such a open and emotional reaction to this masterpiece. I also really appreciate your post dialogues and effort in these videos 😊
interesting and entertaining hearing your take and opinions on music like this that are very reflective of someones lifestyle so different from your own, and the bridge in money trees was trending on tiktok for some time mightve been where u heard it lol. great vid all in all
SHE said Pharrell Williams is someone she needs to look into...🤐 But 4real girl, I do enjoy watching you experience this genre of music for the first time..but Pharrell is a legend haha
From the Swimming Pools chorus cames always mind this one chorus that the start of it would became pretty much a saying in finland and it would be translated: "One drop doesn't kill you and you won't drown in a bucket, so now that we are at the start, just let it go". The first sentence is turned into saying in finland, the singer died from alcoholism.
I'm really glad that I found this video. It's like you experience music in a visceral way, looking like you physically feel it at some points. I experience music like this in a similar way, but nobody that I know seems to share those particular experiences.
I don't know if you'll see this but the context for the Dr. Dre feature on this album (and later on TPAB) is that Dr. Dre was the one to sign Kendrick and give him his big break. They even went to the same high school and Kendrick once told a story about seeing Tupac and Dre filming a music video so Dr. Dre is sort of woven into every aspect of Kendrick's life
Still in my top 10 albums of all time and still my fave Kendrick album! Watching you enjoy it as it went along was a fun ride! Keep doing what you’re doing as your videos and reactions are Real (song name pun intended!)
PLEASE DO MAC MILLER, after his death he got a boom in popularity but I think he is incredibly underrated as an artist, I feel like hes a lot like kanye, where sometimes his rapping isn't crazy insane, but his production is always crazy good. Swimming and Circles (swimming IN circles) are meant to go together and are DEFINITELY his magnum opus.
It's always interesting to see how people react to music like Kendricks and it makes them so emotional, I'm not saying the music shouldn't make you feel that way, it's just interesting because for alot of people it's a window into someone reality while for others it's a mirror.

I really enjoyed crying to this again with you
So glad you listened to this! It’s my most favorite album of all time
These reactions are great I cant wait for more and personally I think Sing about me might be his best song.
Also a Saba - Care For Me reaction would be amazing.
34:04 OH MY!! YESSS!! you read that so perfectly, it is exactly a last track sounding like an introduction signifying it is a loop, that its not just his story, its a teen's story of life in compton and the problems you face
at the end you hear the line of borrowing the van, beginning the story over again from the first track
Do you have a patreon I would pay decent money to watch your full reaction to every word
no i do not
You may think that you don't say a lot during your listening but this format is just perfect for you and us because you gather most of your thoughts on the editing afterwards while i can still understand just by watching you what that specific part made you feel or what you thought when he said that idk how to explain it but i just have the same kind of vibe so i feel like i can tell this stuff and i think a lot of people feel the same way here, definitely one of the best music reactors on youtube :)
thank you so much
I’d give anything to hear SAMIDOT for the first time again. So powerful….
welp now imma be listening to this album for a week on repeat cos of pathy, not complaining great vid once again
Ok after hearing you listen to it yeah this is my favorite Kendrick album and I don’t know if you listened to it but I always listen to the delux version of this album cause my favorite song on there is a bonus track which is one my favorite songs by him and on the album black boy fly if you haven’t listened to it I recommend you do I guarantee you’ll love it
takes me back to high school, kendricks albums always come at polarizing times of my life.
This is one of my favourite albums of all time ... I like it more than tpab cause it resonates with me more on a personal level ... I love tpab ... But gkmc is just the one for me ... Thank you for reacting to this 🫶❤️🩹
these videos are why I read the lyrics now.
15:56 damn that came out of nowhere 💀
You have a nice voice lol
Also you picked up on more than me (not really something you can literally compare to)
ooooh the voiceovers here is sososos nice ps oh man hearing you talk about your struggles got me too. i hope you are much better now. im getting out of my own kinda addictions now. everyday im making progress. i wish you the best
15:38 why didn’t u put ur hands up high ??!!
15:58 calling herself a fucking idiot caught me so off guard
this album is incredible, fun fact every single verse on this album was written by kendrick (yes including drake's and Jay rock's)
This is the first time I actually feel a reaction channel is different, keep it up!
I’ve been seeing your videos recommended to me for a bit now and haven’t gotten around to seeing one until now, I love this style of music reaction, it’s unique and different, love it
thank u for giving me a chance
10:35 yoU aRe STRONG 🌱💛
wonderful reaction!
18:10 pharrell williams is a producer path, and he has made so many beats and songs youve probably heard already, he also worked with kendrick a bit throughout the career (look out for his beat on tpab!!), his signature is a quadruple repeat at the beginning of the beat, as oppossed to a producer tag, its pretty cool in my opinion
i remember watching your old reactions, youve improved your quality of video, explanation, and every aspect of the channel.
@@pathreacts ❤️
Love your reactions and how deep you dive into the lyrics🇿🇦❤️
Your videos are a refreshing step back from mainstream music reaction channels. Great that you have such deep appreciation for everything you listen to, as opposed to other channels which vigorously pull apart every song and feel the need to rate everything and pause the song every couple of seconds. First video I’ve seen of yours and instantly subscribed.
Love the channel! Its nice hearing a fresh honest perspective
Good kid is my favorite Kendrick song ever
Watching your reaction videos is like bringing back the feeling I got listening to all these albums for the first time, which is an amazing feeling so thank you and keep ‘‘em coming!
And if you see this please listen to some Kanye I’d recommend starting with his first album
Path reacts > needle drop
Such a good album. I really appreciate seeing you have such a open and emotional reaction to this masterpiece. I also really appreciate your post dialogues and effort in these videos 😊
interesting and entertaining hearing your take and opinions on music like this that are very reflective of someones lifestyle so different from your own, and the bridge in money trees was trending on tiktok for some time mightve been where u heard it lol. great vid all in all
I really like your reaction format and it’s fun seeing you react to Kendrick cuz he’s my fav
anyone else absolutely falling in love with these projects again after these reactions?!! so genuine and sincere ,, keep it up :)
SHE said Pharrell Williams is someone she needs to look into...🤐
But 4real girl, I do enjoy watching you experience this genre of music for the first time..but Pharrell is a legend haha
Dre is sort of woven into every aspect of Kendrick's life
🥺 thank u for sharing this
Still in my top 10 albums of all time and still my fave Kendrick album!
Fave music reactor. Love your style, Path!
It's always interesting to see how people react to music like Kendricks and it makes them so emotional, I'm not saying the music shouldn't make you feel that way, it's just interesting because for alot of people it's a window into someone reality while for others it's a mirror.
