Fun fact.
The group that composed the sample for "One Beer" recently performed for the first time EVER in the USA. They did this in NYC in 2022. At their performance, several rappers showed up, due to them being introduced to the group through DOOM's music. People that attended the performance at the small theatre included Tyler The Creator, Action Bronson, Madlibs, Earl Sweatshirt, and Joey Bada$$.
Damn, those are kindof all low key children of the Villain, save for Madlib of course. Dude was mad influential.
Not to mention that Tyler the creator also sampled the sample that was used in One beer

MM FOOD is unquestionably one of my all-time favorite albums. The sheer abundance of creativity and randomness within this album is downright bizarre. From the godly samples to DOOM's illest flow, not to mention the beats - everything comes together to create the ultimate sonic feast.

The beatboxing in Hoe Cakes is a sample from the song Supersonic by a rap trio of girls from the 80’s that went by the name of J.J. Fad
the run MF DOOM went on from 03-04 is crazy. 5 albums in the span of 18 months. all great listens.

my favorite doom album really happy to see you appreciate samples and how cool it mustve been to see them chop of some of these songs in person. if you haven't yet J Dilla - Donuts is an amazing instrumental album that is just driven by its samples pieced together to create whole different meanings!

I've listened to this album a while ago by now and just listen to certains songs of it, but now re-listening along your reaction made me realize i was sleeping on a lot of songs of the album. really loved the reaction, I've listened to DOOM's albums plenty of times myself and never realized just how much depth this album had until watching you, you did MF justice, glad this popped up on my feed. Thank you.
It's so hard for me to pick a favorite track from this album. They're all so unique, bringing their own flavors to the table, but still intertwine together like a lot of albums struggle to do these days.
The samples are amazing, the messages, and of course, someone to appreciate all of the nuance in such a project.

I never knew ppl hated Hoe Cakes. I've always loved it. It has a great vibe & sound, plus it's funny and clever. I love the "super" parts...and like you said, the bass guitar! 🎸

Yknow what would look GREAT next to those Tyler and Kendrick albums in the back? No Pressure and Under pressure by logic! Honestly tho, i have been binge watching ur channel for the past few days, and i realize you would like a lot of logics content. If you like the Poo-Put Platter sample and beat, you'll love the version Joey Bada$$ did on his album 1999. It honestly feel like the version of the song that should have been on MM..FOOD and it in my eyes completes the album. Joey also uses another beat off of this album for his project 1999 and was a huge fan of DOOM. you should definitely do an album reaction to it!

I think in an interview he mentioned one reason he used F4's Doom as inspiration was he would lose but he always came back, which makes sense because it was his return to music after his brother died.

Madvilliany is MF DOOM’s magnum opus, it just reached his full potential and peak and it was just overall beautiful with of course the help of the GOAT of producers Madlib. But yes MM..FOOD is definitely his most fun album, the most catchiest songs I’ve ever heard and some of the most creative bars ever spit by a rapper. MF DOOM is a fkn treasure to keep and I’m so glad I got into him about a year ago and I still listen to his music every day. Def top 5 artists oat for me

DOOM is the only artist I have ever seen sample Sesame Street; And manage to eloquently place it amongst audio from old marvel cartoons. Truly a real artist.

real talk i'd dabbled in a lil bit of mf doom but i ain't ever did a deep dive. i knew he was talented but i didn't know he had it like that fr. gon have to dig deeper into his discog. definitely adding some of these tracks to my playlist. fly high doom.
