Had a friend who abandoned his 82 GT in my house, I drove it to school on emergencies- felt like the fastest car I have ever owned (my current car is an m340i). Of course the broken floor boards meant my seat always reclined when I accelerated.😊

Damn I would swap a c4 or aod into that 82 for your dad. I like shifting gears as much as the next guy but driving an auto has got to be better then riding shotgun with the manual.

Way cool. Just wrote yesterday on one of your other posts. I'm following your lead, but combining both of those cars to make a t-top Cobra. Had a t-top Stang as a teen, nothing feels like driving one, the open air experience. Corvette Targa top same feeling. Good job, I'll blame my diminishing checking account on YoutTube and you. ;)
ps: Ripley told me she'd love if you put down a moving blanket so she can be a little warmer and more comfortable when laying by you in the shop.
She has her own bed in my car and on the floor
AFR 195 Renegades are awesome!
I'm building a Dart 363 SBF for my '85 GT (waited a YEAR for the Dart block!) and AFR said to use their 185s.
My engine builder said because of the Dart's 4.125 bore, to use AFR 195s. I went with the 195s and an RPM AirGap with a Holley Sniper Stealth.
Can't wait to see what your 347 SBF Cobra will do with those AFR 195s!!

Hey that 82 GT is awesome. What intake are you running?, Curious how the factory air cleaner clears that Maximum Motorsports tower brace. It looks great.
Good choice in heads Afr's seem to make more average power than all others and with that cam you should be real close to 520 crank.

Love this video, father and son sharing their love of cars. As I mentioned before, I have a '73 Mach 1 Mustang, I love tinkering on it and making it better. It's not a show car per say, but it does look pretty good, and I even won the 1st place Mustang award at the first car show I took it to. Hoping to put some more muscle under the hood in the future. My son has at '92 LX 5.0, he's worked on and it runs in mint condition. Thanks for sharing this video, love what you do, and btw more cash buys more parts! *Hint* 😉

And no these blocks do not split at 500 and above. It's all in the tune
I believe Richard Holdener tested the myth that all 302s split at 500HP....if I remember correctly, he tested multiple engines on the dyno, some with hundreds of pulls and not one split.
I’ll agree and disagree. I’ve seen some split and some make 600WHP and live.

@@bigc6310 yeah I just went to a 375 stroker from a sbe 302 with on3 turbo and for 5 years it make 487 to the wheels on 8 lbs and many times turned up to 12-14. Never a issue

I guess with the early foxbodies you have to stick with the 6K tach. I tried everything to get a 7K to work in my 82...didn't work. That sucks...my 83GT convertible has a 7K tach. Maybe one day I can figure it out

Another 4 eye! Sweet ‘82. The early Foxes are my fav. Had a built ‘80 Fairmont 2-door box top, ‘82 GT and ‘83 GT. The only “Fox” I have left is a low mile ‘99 GT, the last of the lightweight Mustangs. I always set them up for open track, and AutoX. Still the best most adaptable Ford.
