I've said this same thing about multiple people on UA-cam! Couldn't tell you how many times I've seen people "spend" 10-15K just on and engine and/or transmission. The people that can afford it get it handed to them! It's just irritating sometimes.
You all take it so personally that they build these bad ass cars with superior upgrades like they’re doing it on purpose to throw it in your face. I don’t watch these shows so that I can relate to the build, I just watch to learn some tech stuff and see a couple guys build cool cars with the coolest stuff available on the aftermarket. If you can’t relate to the build, just close the video and move on with your life.
These were also the Pace Car variants and 82' GT, etc.. Had a 79' Cobra Turbo, w/306 sbf swapped, T5, and 8.8 around 20 years ago. Curb weight was 2700 pounds and was dead even with the LS TRANS AM of the era. Love these cars and thanks for giving one attention.
Cool build & you are at my local road coarse even. Funny that you had to patina a Mustang, most of them do that on their own, haha! [Mustang owner ;) ]
for those watching and whining, "I can't afford one"....know that the same era Thunderbird takes nearly all the same speed parts, has a longer wheelbase for stability in the quarter mile BUT weighs nearly the same as a loaded Fox, tends to be less beaten on by the time you get it, sounds less like a tin can when you close the door, attracts less attention from 5-oh (pun intended) and you don't need to waste money on clear tailights and lambo doors to get attention in a hot rodded t bird--just buff out the factory paint and put on some shiny used rims from your buddy's mustang.
"MOST EXCELLENT!" Great build, you guys, I hope that your next one will be just as frickin' cool as this one! Thanks to all of you who put the time in on this build. I hope that y'all didn't lose too much blood with all of your sweat & tears, HA!
This car was made the year I was born. I think it would be really bad ass to have a nice Mustang like this. That way I could always joke around and say “This car is as old as me,it’s just in a bit better shape”! 🤣🤣🤣
I actually saw the full version of this I wanna do something similar have a track ready Fox buddy but Not this model and I want to do that same thing with a F150 from the 1990s Just a an idea for right now I gotta get my license 1st But it's always good to have dreams
Nice project. I was wondering why going over all that suspension swap and not installing battle-boxes in the back? At that power-level the back end will rip itself outta the unibody. Experience talking... Either Kenny Brown or Steeda makes them. Maybe others, but don't trust them. Very mean outcome :)
At 6:26 mark, why didn't they invest in a Watts link??? These cars handle very very well with that on. Hell the could of got a IRS from a T-Bird or a Lincoln MK7.
They have the entire build footage of this car! Go back 4-5 years and you can see the first time they showed these already reruns from spike tv onto their UA-cam channel. These tools are out of content and showing reruns on a UA-cam channel is the most money hungry pathetic thing I've EVER seen in my almost 50 years!
I think I’m starting to understand today’s nomenclature. It seems to be “Patina paint job” is another name for a bad painter. I guess those participation trophies are paying dividends now boys. Lmao.
Crazy how much Foxbody prices have gotten. My sister-in-law sold hers for $900 8 years ago and it ran great it had the 5.0 HO 5 peed in it. She sold it without me knowing because it needed front-end work and the sunroof leak. I told her about the joys of living in the Rust Belt. But I was mad the car had so much potential and for that price she sold it for. I could have made it fast for a few grand.
Ok.,,im just old and dumb,,but can someone tell me with an unlimited budget, and the opportunity to buy a brand new rear end assembly 🤔 😅 why didn't you opt for a bullet proof 9 inch ford.im guessing the price would be not anymore than the inferior 8.8. Can someone bring me up to speed 😩.
3:46 Yeah, too bad it's not on a Camaro. Oh ... wait.. yeah, they were slow and fat. I know, I owned one. The doors weighed so much than the hinges would give out and the door would sag, causing the window to leak when it rained, which led to moldy interiors and rusted exteriors. Good times. I'll take the early 80s Fox body Mustang any day.
"Slow and Fat" enough to dominate mustangs for years in showroom stock racing. And forced frod to build multiple "special editions" in an attempt to close the performance gap. 8~(
What can you expect from a guy with a tunnel vision fixed mindset, a nice detail is to be appreciated regardless of the brand name, it serves as an aid you may be able to carry over to your own project. I am very pleased with my 17' Mustang GT, the only GM that piques my interest is the 68 Nova SS and the 70' Chevelle SS 396.
I don't know if I approve of the paint job. When you restore a car, I thought you were suppose to restore it to stock or better look. Not restore it back to looking like a 30 yo rust bucket.
You got the $$$$ for that? This is a street race car, and they've already spent a buttload on an engine & suspension parts. Got an additional $2500+ for a passable "restored" paint job?
Amazing job on sidewinder
Beautiful piece of machine👍♥️
I absolutely loved watching this full build ! Anyone who hasn't seen the entire build, go through the archives and check it out 👍👍👍
@Power_Nation what am I claiming?
As a Mustang guy I wish I could just throw $15-20 k at upgrades this easy... Must be nice
Lol, me too. They talk like everybody has lots of money.

@Dan Campbell yes sir 😆
Would have loved to give my 93 lx that same look. I'm a big fan of the imsa road racing from back then
Love this! We're hopefully going to be resuming the build on our Gen3 Coyote swap 93 Notch very soon! If Holley ever gets us the parts!!!
Top Tier Build PN Team!

Boys great job. Although back in the 70s, and early 80s I was into Trans Am's. This snake 🐍 looked amazing. Thanks for the vid.
I was thankful enough to own a 78 ta, and a 79 ws6 an 86 ws6...and lucky enough to wreck them and live. Youth is wasted on the young. Lol
Cool build & you are at my local road coarse even.
Funny that you had to patina a Mustang, most of them do that on their own, haha!

Unlimited funds and sponsors giving you stuff is great
Did they ever provide the total build cost? I couldn't finish the video.
I miss Katie hosting PN. 😍
Sweet build 👍

Very nice indeed! Brings back memories of a ride in the local track hero's car back in the day. That was a rush not soon forgotten.
RIP those torque boxes.. you would think they would reinforce those considering the power there adding...
Just goes to show you they aren't that familiar with the FOX platform and its inherent issues. Not surprised.
16:15 Spun the header collector stud..

Great job!Go the Ford!
Beautiful car
I would love to have that 1-of-1 rear diff ratio 8.8 they pulled out. 2.26 gears for the win.

"Too bad it's on a Mustang."you said. Just remember, John Wick didn't go to WAR killing people over a Camaro. LMAO!!!!
Still take old Fox body over ulgy Camaro from that era especially the Z28.

Also needs a strut brace.
@@Dr_Reason Especially for T-top ;)
not to mention, i woulda kept that orig color and "patina'd" on that.
Awesome well done 🇺🇲
Great job 👏
I just glanced at the thumbnail and assumed it was a Buick somerset. I'm glad I clicked
So awesome, Love the build! now that suspension is too soft b/ its leaning too much... dial her in fella's and gain some seconds.
nice
Katie Osborn!!! Have not seen you in a while.

Purposely make it look shitty is beyond me?😡 That's a beautiful piece of American history...
Good luck 👍ford mustang
OMG 👀🤘🏼🏁
Anyone likes when Mike is in the house? 😂
Nice job guys but need more track video :)
How many decades in the junkyard would it take for the plastic bumper covers to rust like that lol?
If it's a Tesla a few years
OMG LOL LOL this is a repeat, kind of redundant on UA-cam, since the original never went away
I wonder if they have the engine build footage of this mustang?

Windsor Canada has become a gambling city. Although Detroit also has a lot of poverty nowadays.

if u see anything pre 1990 u better buy it
With all the work spent on ruining the paint they could have done a real paint job.

Why are some of us rewatching shows that already been on here?🤔
What brand was the crackle paint?
3:46 Yeah, too bad it's not on a Camaro. Oh ... wait.. yeah, they were slow and fat. I know, I owned one. Great car. Too bad they put that nasty patina finish on it.
mark "I'm not a car guy really, but they taught me words" christ.
Been watching marc for years on these shows he’s never steered me wrong on any of his tech tips
When was this filmed?
can you please tell me where i can buy the fender flares
Third hi I love the video you are a really good channel
I bet everyone there was wishing they had t-tops and you left them on
This rocks. "LS swap the world" my ass. Nobody even wants the General's cars of this vintage.
Sure they don't.
And guys if you going to wet sand atheist use a paint stick OMG 😲 hand wet sanding, jet black.
woah momma
Willing to sell it?
I know this is an older build but the "too bad it's a mustang" stuff wears thin. Try being a Mustang fan and having to settle for all the GM builds.

6:48 what's the name of music y'all?
I seen this year's ago
That car would have felt better at the track if it had a pan hard bar and a torque arm. Not that junk 4 link
Sort of like the period Camaros came with from the factory?
Car built by professionals for non professionals.
It’s not their money it comes from advertising. Just a show the guys in the show couldn’t afford to do any of these builds

why is it you always put a crappy relic paint job on these 80s mustangs? i'll be so glad when the relic fad is over.
Not likely in the near future.
It's actually a great trend for us poor guys that have no clue on doing bodywork.
So you painted a model. There are probably 10,000 people out there who could have painted it better...lol.
Obviously, you have absolutely no idea what this project was about.
@@eskieman3948 No. I know. I'm just saying it could have been done better.
A GM guy can never avoid making a stupid comment, willing to bet he likes G-body's.....
#not_Courtney_Hansen #notevenclose
Rerelease old episodes and have them narrated by a blonde gal, to try and get more views with old material? THAT'S marketing!
so, you're just gonna rehash old project builds now? I'm okay with that
Fake weathering/rust is the stupidest trend in the history of car culture.
Or, as they say: "patina". So dumb.
10:46 if you wanted it to look like it’s been sitting in the junkyard wwhy did you even paint it in the first place? wtf brah 🤨
Tired of reruns!! Give us something new!! PLEASE
They ruined this car with the paint job. 🤦
Opinions are like a-holes....
You ruined it with a bolt in roll bar/partial cage. Lame.
Such a great motor going in such an ugly car 🚗 🙃
🤔
Don't like the music.

Who cares?
Nice video, but you guys need to show off the final product more.
