- Detroit auto appraiser Jason Phillips test drove and graded this classic 1982 Ford Mustang GT during an auto inspection. For sale by the estate. One owner
Mine was canyon red with red interior with a sunroof. Fast car in its day. I finally traded it in on a 1987 Mustang GT 5.0 hatchback which was much faster. Both cars were brand new. I miss those days.
Mileage is most likely incorrect as the car has been re-fitted with an aftermarket ford Motorsport 140 MPH speedometer replacing the 85 MPH original. Hood badge is incorrect as all 82 GTs had a black horse badge regardless of the three GT body colors. Fog light covers are wrong too. They should be white Marchal covers. This tells me that there has probably been front end damage at some point.
I ordered one of these with every option besides the Recaro seats and the automatic (if that was an option). This was my first brand new car. Man, I had a blast with it! Thanks to t-top delays it took close to a year for it to arrive.
Recaro's took a while too.
"100K miles I'm going to guess that's the original clutch". I bet not.
Out of all the fox body mustangs, these earliest ones are the best looking in my opinion... it’s the rear lights that do it for me, reminds me of a Sierra Cosworth coupe from Europe.
I have one of these same year and everything. Unique vehicle
Nice look at the vehicle that signalled the start of the latter day performance era and the beginning of the end of the malaise era.
The nose an hoods on these 82s were the best lookn of the 80s , I owned one , put auogeaded the carb 2 barrel with a 600 4 barrel an T 5 trannie , this was a mind blowing change , prob hit 200 horse , also put the shorty headers on it an the GT exhaust , it would busy the 140 speedo an lil past it , it was fast for an 82 Gt , wish I still had the ole girl
Wow beautiful looking car.
I had one almost identical ❤ sunroof and red interior
So have they sold it? If not what is the price ?
I know this is an old video but is it still available?
I wanted an '84 SVO, but I think I want me an '82 GT painted black like this.
What would you say the biggest thing to look out for on a still good but not quite as nice 82 mustang is when buying?
Rust.
You can always fix a engine or interior or paint, But rust is something you can't fix without fab work
Rust and floor pan coming apart under the driver's seat. The pre 1987 Mustangs were really prone to that floor pan problem. My 79 and 85 5.0 Mustang's had it. Though my 86 SVO didn't
im sure this sold. If not I'm a buyer... :)
This car was worth about $12K when video was made, its worth about $18K today; gone up in value about 50% just in that time
This makes me feel good. I just bought one like this for 13,500.
The way you revved the car was attrocious, do you even know how to drive the car?
lol they just spray all the rust underneath with some undercoat. There is some bad rust under that car. buyer beware
I'm interested in purchasing. How can I reach out to you for purchasing info?
