@Josh Z The 7-Up edition "sorta flopped"?! They only intended to build 30 for 7-Up to give away during the 1990 NCAA finals to fans that could sink a center court shot in 1 try. When the deal fell through Ford turned the program into the Limited Edition and sold 4,103! More than any other Limited Edition. '92 1/2 Vibrant Red sold 2,019. '93 Vibrant White sold 1,500 and '93 Chrome Yellow sold 1,503. Even sold more than any single year SVO, except '84 which sold 4,507. '85 = 1,951 and '86 = 3,379.
@@foxfordcatguy2283 sorta flopped might have been a little too strong. Still not a grail car. See them going all the time on forums for barely above normal models prices. That's what I always think : it's around 28hp per litre . I you think road cars today can reach up to 200hp per litre (Mercedes A45 AMG has a 2.0L 386hp inline 4) , those power figures were just terrible . Oil crisis was just an excuse for pretty much no knowledge in how to squeeze power from a tiny engine , which has always been the case in Europe and Japan .
Jay Loop are you guys idiots? Many vehicles made low hp per liter in that era including European cars as well. Americans knew how to make high hp per liter. Some of The 60s muscle cars were among the fastest of all cars in the world back in that time.
@@TungstenLion I know you were able to make high performance engines ,but you can't deny that's still ridiculous to see a 5.0L V8 making barely 120hp. It's a fact of engine culture : Americans are know for big , torque heavy V8 engines . Europeans and especially Japanese used to run smaller engines : you don't expect a S14 to have a big block V8 , you want that spicy little inline 4 or 6 to be under the hood. There's no better here , just different approaches to engine manufacturing mate.
I think a lot of it was marketing. The average Americans consumer wanted a Big V8 and didn’t care enough to understand efficiency or power. 8 is bigger than 6 and 4 therefore it’s better. The big 3 just had to make it bigger not better, and they did.
After about a year of owning my foxbody, i ended up blowing up the engine but was able to swap it to a 350 small block . so much fun i have in my foxbody. Thunder ! Thunder! Thunder!

Love you guys, I think you do a great job with all your videos BUT I feel its important to note that the mustang II (74-78) was not based on the Pinto platform.. in fact the Mustang II had nothing in common with the Pinto. The forgotten Mustang II was the right car for its time. Its important to not that the 1974 mustang II was the second highest selling production mustang to date being on second to the original 65 model. Sure the mustang II wasn't fast but it was certainly popular for its time. Keep up the great work guys. All mustangs rock except for the Mustang E that is a SUV; let the mud slinging begin LOL

lol real shit, when he mentioned Caines Foxbody, i thought he was gon bring up the fact, he loved his Fox so much, he robbed another nigga for his....AND a double burger WIT cheese
"We're SUPPOSED to be BROTHERS MAN!"
Love this dude!!! His energy is off the wall!!
I know where one of those Mclaren Mustangs are! There’s a carbon fiber composite shop on Long Island and the owner of the shop has a GT3 R8, a slant nose 911, and one of these mustangs with a full cage!
That TRD Guy Larry June has one in the Bay Area
Got my first Mustang in 1987 it was a 1980 2.3L. Great car to start driving with! Had a 1979 Cobra, a 1985 then got a 1998 T bird turbo coupe.
Do the S197 - Mustang's return to the classic styling. They deserve love!
Yea,I definitely agree.I got a 14 gt and love it.I think they are the nicest looking and most classic looking they made yet!mine has the old school GT pin strip that run down the lower doors of the car and the old school looking grill with the fog lights in them.I think they will be the most sought after in the future when they become classics do to the very classic and smooth look.
PERIPHERY!!! Favorite host of my favorite youtube show wearing a t-shirt of my favorite band! Doesn't get better than that!
Seeing James rocking the Periphery shirt makes me wish I could sub twice.
Ikr?!
Yes. I didn't know he listened, that's awesome.
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Same🤘
There both metal guys I've seen a belphagor shirt on here too
My first car was an '85 lx 3,8L fox. The Defiant was her name. Officially she was a scout vessel. Unofficially, a war ship. And as old as she was, she always defied logic and physics. Had to drive her hard or she wouldn't like you. Miss that foxy lady.
Periphery!!! Love that sh*t!!! Glad to see you giving them love and free advertising. Nolan convert you?
FINALLY a Stang up to speed episode , James PLZZ do a bumper 2 bumper on the new Shelby GT 500....
Or the gt350r
"I said a double burger WIT CHEESE!"
Oh u a baller huh
CHEESU!?
"We supposed to be brothers!"
Oh what you trying t be smart!
Yeah SOZ!!!
I sold my 1991 LX last summer after 12 years of ownership and full build. Took it from tired and worn to 440 HP at the tires. Still miss that beast
OHHHHHHHHHH IVE BEEEENNNN WAITING FOR THIS FOREVER!!!
He didn’t mention the 7up edition or the most coveted 5.0 the notchback
L Ros in the last 30 seconds he certainly did
@@skylerDcarrillo no he didn't. He just mentioned that he wants a calypso green 5L manual not the 7up edition or anything about the notches really..
7up edition sorta flopped, not worth mentioning, technically mentions it by saying they were long in the tooth doing special editions
And in the end of the day it was just another vert with a unique name. No hate here, i think they're okay cars. Would have taken a lot of explaining in this video to mention a car that wasnt faster than normal models.
When for the love of all that is Holy are you going to do the Pontiac Firebird!!!!! Come on guys! Please!
Jacob Prevost came here to comment this, I have an 82 firebird TA and I’ve been dying for a firebird episode
I got a 99, someone needs to buy the firebird designs and start rebuilding them under a different name
We gotta get Donut up to like 4 million first we gotta pace these things before they run out of cool cars and we’ll be stuck with EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE CHEVY COBALT!!!!!!
I own three built notchbacks. Foxbody for life
My mother told me the other day her first car was a 5L fox body. That might explain my love for American muscle, it runs in the family
My father bought one new back in 1989. Went in to a Ford dealership to buy an F150, but walked out as the owner of a Mustang. Sadly, after a few years, it was stolen and wrecked by two teenage hooligans.

Some east asian influence there.
Me too, plus the word “mustang” is spelled wrong
thanks for the trip down memory lane. my first car was a 91 mustang LX with the hatchback... and the tiny granny 4 banger. got it back in 2006 and literally drove it into the ground for 10 years. one of the pistons decided it was a great idea to blow out the bottom of the block at 3 am on the highway. found one of the mercury 2.3L turbos on craigslist, but it wasn't to be. I miss that car.
My dad got an 82 foxbody GT when he was like 22, hes now 50 and its a dedicated drag car, very nice
10:11 Talking about bringing 5.0's back but the short clip is of a 2.3 Turbo motor lol.
Bringing the 5.0's back in 2020 with environmental issues, hmm. How about no.
xeroxx yet they have the ls?..your comment makes absolutely no sense
Do one on the “ TERMINATOR SVT COBRA”
This is now my all-time favorite UA-cam channel I just have to ask as a car enthusiast and fan would you please do an episode featuring the history of the West Coast low rider see thanks in advance love you brother
I bought a 07 Ford Mustang a year ago, and I love it.
Not a fox body obviously, but there's just something so fun about driving a Mustang.
I LOVE YOU GUYS FOR DOING THIS, OMG FAVOURITE CAR EVER!!!
"Buckle up, buckaroos" south park reference had me 🤣.
Up to speed on motor circuits in general? Maybe?
Like how they were always dirt then moved to tarmac and mention some influential tracks?
thanks for the shout out at the end
Love me a Foxbody, I have 3 of 'em! Finishing up my 408 stroker! Can't wait to drop it into my '92 Notch!
BarnStangz
Congratulations. You bought a crate motor online ?
@@EASTCOASTIMPERIAL Naw man, building one out of a 351W block. I've got some vids on my channel if you're interested. It's been a fun project, just taking FAR too long.... Life and all, lol!
@BarnStangz
Hurry up, summer is coming 😎
I’m gonna put one together hopefully.
@@EASTCOASTIMPERIAL I know man! It's been far too long!
@@BarnStangz did you get it in yet? I have a 408 '92 notch so your comment caught my attention. Bought the car from my step dad as a no powertrain shell with a cage and 10inch wide tires in the back with a 9inch. I built the motor from a 351w. I kinda wish it didn't have the cage but it hooks like a monster
Do one on a trans am❤
I've always liked the looks of the Monroe Handler, Mustang II. It was a serious car and showed what could be done to a 1974-78 Mustang.
My first car was a 1979 Mustang Cobra... I LOVED THAT THING!! Most think they're ugly, until they own one!
Audience member where are you!? :(
And congrats on 3 mil!
Oh shit I remembered when they hit 1m
that part of james died when he had a heart attack :(
The 85 5.0 has a special place in my heart. Congrats on the 3mil milestone.
140 horse power from a v8
"How do the Americans manage to get such low horse power from such a big engine"
Clarkson
Lmao I have 425 and only make 180 hp 1977 Cadillac Coupe DeVille
I think a lot of it was marketing. The average Americans consumer wanted a Big V8 and didn’t care enough to understand efficiency or power. 8 is bigger than 6 and 4 therefore it’s better. The big 3 just had to make it bigger not better, and they did.
After about a year of owning my foxbody, i ended up blowing up the engine but was able to swap it to a 350 small block . so much fun i have in my foxbody. Thunder ! Thunder! Thunder!
If you were haunting Memphis or Nashville streets in the late 80's /early 90's, I'm sure you remember the AXE. A med red '87 that everybody was out to get, including the fuzz.
Nice Periphery shirt 😉
ALSO!!! My head boss and franchise owner is one of 107 who own a Cobra R Fox. I have pictures

@@mikermilla yeah that kinda sux but I mean its donut so...
All mustangs rock except for the Mustang E that is a SUV; let the mud slinging begin LOL
yeah i hate the mustang E, its literally not even a mustang.
@@rosibalisong4403 it's a Mustang in that it is revolutionary. At least, that is Ford's reasoning and I can understand it.

Fernando Casillas Jr so original
2.3 turbo or fr turbos were sold 79-86 84-86 was the Svo with aluminum flywheels, functionally airscoops. And with a Porsche turbo they push 400 buff horses in a light fox body stang. Slides and takes off like a dream.
400 hp is definitely not stock numbers. Its crazy they didnt continue the 5lug wheels beyond the SVO though
...yeah, it has to be a "Porsche" turbo, specifically 🤣🤣🤣
Love the show and ther Periphery shirt! One of my favorite bands! Keep up the good work boys! 🤙
