I was obsessed with this game as a kid, but only now as an adult I actually understand the nuanced deeper meanings in dialogue like this. Thank you for uploading these!
this guy is a real bro despite you being a child he lets you into the bar because he trust that you can handle yourself and he doesn't look down on kefei for disappearing before his wedding and knows he'll be back. Man doesn't judge a book by its cover and now link has become one of his favorite customers
There's something interesting about that. I belive Cremia said that being an adult isn't about age or appearance, but the way one acts. From this, we get that she gives Romani's mask to Link because she considers him an adult because he was brave enough to help her during the night. Same thing with the guards, once they see Link has a sword they don't care about his age, they treat him as an adult. Something similar could be happening with the bartender, his logic could be something like if Link has Romani's mask he's a member AND an adult.
Even sadder is that link isnt everywhere at every moon crash so theres multible people dying with some possibly waiting for link to appear one last time
You'd have an easier time tackling last minute tasks and finishing dungeons. However, you'd be extremely limited by time, encouraging a purchase on Night 1 instead. That's a well-balanced use of this mechanic, as well as a perfect means of promoting its usage.
@@bwackbeedows3629 The last night is almost exclusively spent standing around in anything other than a 3-day challenge run and I don't think you can actually get the cow mask in one of those so getting a free milk if you're planning on doing the Moon would be kind of unbalanced.
The bartender...the rancher sisters...the engaged couple...so many people to see just before the moon crashes, so little time.... sure, you know you're going to stop it from happening, but they're all counting on you, and you still want to see them all before it happens, because all those memories... they're only your own unless you create them once again in this, the final instance of the final day. For the one who gets the worst ending is Link. All those friends he made won't remember him the way he does, if at all. They get their happily every after. They can move on. Link will always know.
Aww that’s so sweet! Mr. Barten cares about Link and his customers even in the face of the apocalypse. Also I always was a little peeved that I had to wear the mask in the bar to get served while the NPCs didn’t.
I remember Chuggaaconroy brought that one up in his playthrough, his head canon being that you're an underage member, and so they decide to mess with you by asserting that the cow face is absolutely necessary to make you an honorary adult.
@@Mecceldorf Maybe he even hikes up the price on the Chateau Romani so that you're more likely to just buy regular milk, figuring Link wouldn't be able to afford the specialty (which is figured to be alcoholic) that way, thus avoiding selling alcohol to a kid (the fact that you do pay such a fee would then just leave him with enough money to pay any legal fees incur for selling booze to a minor :P )
All around Clocktown are little toys of cows. I always assumed these were everyone else's proof that they were members, so they didn't have to wear anything, they just showed the barkeep their trinkets.
to be fair most of the NPC's there are adults and your a child your only in that bar because the mask is supposed to be a sign that one of their members think's you have an adult mentally which is fine enough for the bar tender it's a constant reminder that while your a child you have the thought process to be responsible there
@@Wearyfren Not really, he was more a child in an adult's body in Ocarina. He didn't live those 7 years which is part of why he was sent back. Easy mistake to make though, because of all the Links he always came off as being the most mature even as a kid. Perhaps due to his rough outcast orphan starting situation.
The game is full of this kind of stuff, especially on the night of the final day. I’d honestly recommend actually playing it yourself sometime as I doubt any let’s player will ever be able to find all the instances of this kind of dialog.
Someday I will play this game all the way through. I enjoy the Zelda games but out of the ones I've played I haven't beaten all of them. I have this issue when I'm playing the games I just can't stop playing but then when I actually do stop playing I have difficulty getting back into the game like at all. I still think they're great games though. I guess it just feels overwhelming to come back to the game after taking some time off
@@Eldoofus I mean, the other people that visit during that three day period is the manager of a singing group that cancelled his plans to sing at the bar, a troupe leader who is doing nothing but drinking and crying about how they can't perform due to that same cancelation, and the mayor's wife who decided she was going to at least have a drink while the world comes to an end. Between those 3 and a goofy kid wearing a cow hat who seems to not be afraid of the moon crashing on their heads, who would be your favorite?
