In 1981, six years after joining Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks went solo for the first time with her debut album ‘Bella Donna’. A massive success, it sold more than five million copies in the U.S., topped the album charts and produced four hit singles, including her signature anthem, "Edge Of Seventeen." More platinum albums followed - ‘The Wild Heart’ (1983), ‘Rock A Little’ (1985), and ‘The Other Side Of The Mirror’ (1989).
In 2019, Stevie Nicks made history by becoming the first female artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice - first as a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1998, and most recently in recognition of an extraordinary solo career that spans nearly 40 years.

I had the blessing of been born in ‘62 with The Beatles and a couple of teen-aged uncles, into a musical family..so I lived the ‘60’s, the ‘70’s, the ‘80’s and even the early ‘90’s as a young person whose life, like it was for all of us, revolved around a plethora of incredible talent and genres. I don’t think you’d find a person from my age group who won’t tell you we know we were blessed and very lucky. Rumours was the first album I ever bought, saved up for it from my summer holiday babysitting jobs ( it was summer in Australia when it was released, Christmas/summer holiday time)

Looks like Stevie lost a friend for life, Christine Mc Vie. The other amazing female voice in Fleetwood Mac just passed a few days ago (age 79). Those of us who grow up with their music will miss them when they are gone, so appreciate what we got to see and hear in person. Last time I saw Fleetwood Mac in person was at the Stampede Grandstand, Calgary on September 8, 1977 not a particularly warm day either, as noted by Stevie. R.I.P. Christine, we enjoyed your music more then you could know.
