In 1981, six years after joining Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks went solo for the first time with her debut album ‘Bella Donna’. A massive success, it sold more than five million copies in the U.S., topped the album charts and produced four hit singles, including her signature anthem, "Edge Of Seventeen." More platinum albums followed - ‘The Wild Heart’ (1983), ‘Rock A Little’ (1985), and ‘The Other Side Of The Mirror’ (1989).
In 2019, Stevie Nicks made history by becoming the first female artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice - first as a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1998, and most recently in recognition of an extraordinary solo career that spans nearly 40 years.
Stevie has so many great songs with FM and solo, but this song is her best solo song. True 80’s with a great hook and melody. I wish they played this on regular radio.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤I'm in love❤❤❤❤

Been 50+ years still Love that Lady & Her Music!
Stevie says she was so wasted making this video she wished this video was never played no matter how good it turned out. Glad she was able to face her demons, squash them and continue on. One of the best female performers ever!
vocals are definitely not on point either
This explains…so much…
Yes. I just recently watched the interview where she said that.
I was just about as wasted that year; so it really resonates for me....
Drugs probably the reason for wearing black a lot?
Goddddd I love 80’s music
There is some magic that the 80s created that can never be duplicated again. This song is an example of that. That's what makes the 80s so special. :)
Its called coke
I don't see how it all came together - the mood I guess of that decade ----- the keyboards, the bass, the vocals, the percussion and drums!!!! This song cannot be described -------- THE POWER OF THIS SONG CANNOT BE DESCRIBED!!
Still have my 12 inch (extended play) single of this song. Couldn't get enough of it when it was first released.
Those cheesy default synth patches?
@@overlusted7620 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😭😭Im dead!
There's so much going on in this song: the raspy vocals, the synthesizers, the bass, drums, and guitar solo, it all meshes together beautifully in harmony. THAT, was the sound of the 80's.
So true a bit of everything . . She's awesome ! !!
I believe that it's Prince on the synthesizers if I am not mistaken!
@@redletter2008 I stand corrected, thank you, Prince played synthesizer on Stand back. Sorry.
After the electric guitar solo at 3:27 there is a synth breakdown that reminds me of Balearic house music, specifically New Order’s Technique album from 1989, which left me shook
Dont forget Stevies huge crimped hair and the lace gloves
I miss the days when musicians put a lot of effort into these things.
The good ol' days of great music videos.
I love that they didn't cut away from her intense facial expressions. You keep expecting a cut, but the video editor just let it ride.
NOTHING, LIKE, THE 80S.
U r so f c right, ant 🐜 u !!!!!!!!!!!
Just 4get about the f c u r very right tho
I'm 66 and I still cannot listen to this song without cranking the volume up to 10 and blowing out what's left of my eardrums. One of the cleanest, hardest intros to a song ever. My wife and 29 year old daughter are about to see her live in Little Rock tonight.
Whoa! Amazing!
I am 76.
I remember I bought the album "Rock a little" at a music shop in Dusseldorf in 1985.
It was just released.
I can't wait is the first piece
Amazing album & beautiful Stevie.
Still one of my favorite albums.

Dear @@arbiterelegantiarum8698 ! I adore Stevie Nicks in the 1980's and even nowadays in 2020's. I will always love Stevie Nicks music.
👍
Happy New Year! 2024 and this song still rocks!
Will see her tomorrow in New Orleans !
With my 29 year old daughter for the third time . First concert was in Biloxi and Christine was there too RIP .
Never gets old . Priceless legend .
Just played GTA 5 and remembered that song... the 80s at its best!
I think someone at Rockstar games loves Stevie Nicks since "Edge of seventeen" was also on GTA IV.
@@spiderjerusalem8284 Yeah, probably. In GTA 6 we need ''Rooms on Fire'' :P
Me too....her soul is imprinted on this track that’s why it resonates.

I came here from an article that said Stevie hates this video because she looks so strung out in it. Hell, I'm a clean-living person (daily cup of coffee is my only vice), and I still look *10 times* as strung out as this on my best days. I haven't heard the song in forever and it's still 🔥
And its still Rock and always will rock

40 yrs later I still get chills
The synth at the bridge is mesmerizing. One of her most underrated songs.
That's some five-star wanted level music right there!
She just had it. All of it. Never to be duplicated.
Absolutely never and even comparison is insulting!

What a song writing Titan she is... I'm so sad I've never seen her or Fleetwood Mac live.😢
Stevie is on tour!

Her eyes just pull you in. And then she starts to sing! wow!
Just don't get into a staring contest with Stevie..
Cocaine lol
She was wasted on cocaine and alcohol doing this video

PoWeR ToKeR 420 Get in line!
Don’t we all. She’s so beautiful 🥵
She's only like 37-38 in this video but you're not alone bruh, she's such a beautiful woman all around and doesn't seem her age at all.

I think just about every man young and old had a crush on Stevie! I'm a straight gal and had a crush on her!
Stevie Nicks is so amazing. Beautiful song!
She still amazing ❤️
Shes still amazing today 😊👍
I had just got home with the wife and saw the police leaving our apartment building. Again our upstairs neighbor was annoying everyone with excessively loud music vibrating through the walls and ceilings. As soon as the police left, the loud music started again. Soooo I put on Stevie Nicks “I Can’t Wait” at about 9 & 1/2 volume for the first 30 seconds and then turned it off. You could have heard a pin drop! It was quiet the rest of the night 😌
Epic!! My favourite was AC/DC thunderstruck. The ultimate revenge for upstairs. Xx

What a beautiful melody and a fast tempo to go with it. I've loved this for 38 years now and it only gets better.
"I'm your DJ, Captain Loggins. We won't let you wait." Seriously, this is one of the most 80s songs ever. The Drums, the vocals, the synths, it's THE sound.
When I think of the mid 80s, I immediately think of this song and video. It's just the epitome of that era.

Oh my God I have not heard this since the mid 80's when I was in my mid-twenties. Back then, for the longest time, I had the lyrics "I can't wait, i can't wait" stuck in my head. Something tells those lyrics will be stuck in my head again 39 years later.

By far one my most favorite Stevie Nicks hits. It should have gotten higher than #16 on the charts.
I look at it this way...if this had been a number one song...you would be sick of it!
Honestly, the bottom 20 was better than the top 20
It’s one of the best songs and videos I have seen top drawer
Totally agree. When I mention it, most people don't know what I am talking about. I loved this song when it came out. The percussion in it and the fast pace, love it!!!
This lady can straight up, flat out sing like nobody else. It doesn't hurt that she is beautiful
old music is the best!
One of the songs that have me tuning to Los Santos Rock Radio on GTA V/Online.
I love her voice, it is unique, very special, gets under your skin, makes an impression, unmistakable. The song is full of the 80s, heavy drum computer beats, heavy guitars, driving bass, I love it.
Amazing voice. Marvelous Sounds

Stevie Nicks and Ann Wilson best female rock vocalist ever!
I wonder what it would have sounded like if theyd worked together. Whether that's too much vocal power for a track, or if it would have been incredible.
Pat Benatar?
👍👍
Agreed !!!
@@asherouk7308 she's good but doesn't have the vocal passion stevie nicks has
I want to know how this women managed to produce all the amazing songs she did while still being on a myriad of drugs, let alone how she has managed to look better than most 30 year old women at 72. She's freaking amazing
She really don't look to good in this. In the 1970s she was hot but here not so much.
because everyone else did all the work while she was high - as usual

OMG! To be 15 again! Stevie rocked her ass off! What a powerhouse voice! The 80s was the best decade of music! What an honor and privilege to grow up on great stuff! They also played this on FM as well! I remember hearing the remix! It was baddd ass!!! Nostalgia has hit me early this morning! Happy Easter everyone!!!🌞🌞🌞🌞🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
I wish I was 15…I’m 48 now
The 80's was just magical to any teen lucky enough to grow up in it --- I can still remember being 13 and hearing my sister blasting "Stand Back" on her boombox as we swam in our pool in the summer and then going to see "Return of the Jedi" once our Mommy got home from work LOL --- great memories of being an 80's kid!

In what other age this jewel can be created, if it wasnt the 80s
Silver springs was pretty good as well for the seventies.

I know right! Its sad why we didnt keep the music industry the same
I was in elementary when this came out. I've been a fan of her since. Even my daughter's love her. She's a legend
Honey, even the straight women who grew up in the 80's are in love with her. At the very least, we wanted to BE her. :) Young women in the 80's were blessed to have female rock models like Stevie...and Pat Benetar, Chrissie Hynde, Ann Wilson, Joan Jett just to name a few. But Stevie will always hold a special place in my heart!
I’m very jealous you grew up with these type of tracks I love them. I’m 16 and nobody my age listens to this type of music, why do people like bad music now?? Hip hop!!
I always think about this song when waiting for my next payday, especially when having my eye on an intended purchase.

“Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?”― Tennessee Williams.
This is the perfect video for such a face paced song. Creative, pure gold. I first heard this song when a friend of mine drove me to NYC for the first time. Driving fast, Stevie blaring I can't wait. Best times.
My god I love it so much. One of my fav songs from the 80s
I had to go back and watch this again because I heard Stevie feels unhappy about her looking noticeably drugged out in the video, and while I believe her, I only see a visual performance that wonderfully and perfectly matches the absolute electric fire energy in this amazing song, I'm not mad at anything about it ❤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I wish she and Robert Plant could've had a child together. Can you imagine how majestic that child would've been?
The queen... Undoubtedly.
So unique.
High Priestess of Rock!
I can honestly say, out of all of her music videos, this one is probably my favorite. When you see her on the stairs, basking in the pink and purple light, she looks like some form of ethereal angelic figure in another dimension. It's incredibly beautiful, and so is she.
My 45 year crush.. amazing as always.. that voice !!
I first heard this on the radio in the late 80's/early 90's and have loved it ever since. I especially love how it's taken on a second life by being in a videogame! Hello to every young person who knows this awesome song from GTA! This old man salutes your taste in music!
The best for me!!
True story: Back in the 80's my kid sister's bf worked for a florist in Manhattan. He delivered. He met some pretty famous people in the couple of years he did this. He met her. He knocked on her hotel door to deliver flowers, she opened the door high as a fucking kite and thanked him. Made him wait at the door after she took the flowers and gave him a very nice tip. I am a left over hippy from the sixties. She reminds me of me lol, I can truly resonate with her on so many levels. She's been my idol since the minute I heard her very distinct talented voice back in the mid 70's. Writing her own music, that's on another level. She's amazing. The band as a whole was ahead of their time. There music is truly timeless, and so is she. Let's not forget she looks amazing most likely because she made the conscious decision of not have any children. Her bod didn't go through the nine months of beautiful hell we go through and changes us, forever. Any woman childless will live longer and look good in her elder years in general.
Stevie came and performed in my city, her first concert after the death of her friend, Tom Petty. She confessed that she was so sad about his passing that she had considered giving up the tour. I’m very happy to say that, at the end of the evening, she tearfully thanked us for being such a good and “kind” crowd. It’s wonderful that, after her music has touched us all so much, we were able to partially return the favour.
She has one of the best voices that is raw and emotional live its amazing
🦓❤️
