Just found this. Didn't realize you were back on til the video "A New Light" showed up. Love watching this "practice" painting. I have been raised with the attitude of doing things "as they should be done". unfortunately for my past family members, I have a tendency to go rouge. You are my hero! Regardless of. Art inspiration ideas,the one thing I know is you are the best teacher I have experienced!! You make me look like a painter when I'm not and unlike other tutorials when I am finished my painting looks very similar to what it is supposed to! (Instead of like a third grade painting). Compared to original so thank you!!! Also I love your dead flowers and darker ideas!!
Time to stop saying you're not a painter! If you paint, you're a painter. Nearly all great artists started out by mimicking or copying other artists!
I started off with Jane's videos in 2016, and ended up learning so much from her that I managed to use the techniques from her videos to make my own originals. I haven't painted in a few years... but I'm still an artist! You're an artist too.
You have always been a great painter in my opinion. Your painting skills are noticeably even better now!

@@PaintingwithJane I literally pulled out a similiar 3 pigments earlier today before I read this comment. I didnt quite fit in a painting session today, but tomorrow it's on!
I followed through, I thought I might just make a mess, but the watercolor version turned out great. I used and opaque, a transparent, a granulating, and a touch of bleedproof white for a couple highlights at the end.

Thanks for another great video. I've been feeling a little hurt on the inside lately even when I work on art anymore. I can't seem to connect with people anymore and always felt like I lived for others needs and not my own. I loved how I managed to get back into art over the past few years but unfortunately it has come at a high cost. I hope you are able to keep making more beautiful pieces because you have quite a fanbase going that seem to need you in their own struggles.

Ok so I come across your painting tonight for the first time. I have to say I was mesmerized by what and how you were doing this painting. Then I realized how amazing this was turning out. I often feel like your videos are more than just about art. You preach gentleness and kindness to ourselves, the creation process and the resulting artwork. There is no such thing as the 'right' painting. Instead, go ahead and have fun and experiment, don't be afraid to go out of your comfort zone and see what happens. Enjoy the process, and connect with people as you go along. This is a recipe for a positive and fulfilling life. A life where we are not chasing perfection or moulding ourselves into the kinds of people we think we should be, but always remembering that there is no such thing as 'the right path'. Only the path that we choose/have at any given moment, and all we can do is try to make the best out of it with kindness and love in our hearts.
