Today is a free online video art class where you will learn how to paint kittens and cowboy boots which is inspired by a photo sent in by one of my patreon members. Throughout this lesson, you'll learn how to paint a realistic animal portrait with dimension and texture. You'll learn how to draw and paint a cat, leather cowboy boots, fur and expressive facial features. Paint it abstract, impressionistic, or pop art. Paint on wood, paper, glass, or any surface. Have a date night at home, paint party, sip and paint event, or virtual paint night. Paint with gouache, pastel, oil paint, or watercolor, any medium will work! It’s an easy art project. Canvas: 16x20 stretched primed canvas
Brushes: 3/4 inch flat bristle, #6 bright synthetic, #3 and #0 round synthetic
Acrylic Paint: titanium white, mars black, deep yellow, burnt umber (brown), burnt sienna (rust) cobalt blue, fire red
Other: chalk cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. 3/4 inch bristle brush - Paint base coat on canvas with white, yellow, brown
2. Chalk and 3/4 inch bristle brush - Draw outline for wall and floor then paint wall with white, tan (made in step 1), yellow, blue
3. #6 bright brush - Paint 1st layer of baseboard and floorboards with brown, rust, tan
4. #6 bright brush - Finish wood with brown, rust, tan, white
5. Chalk - Draw outline for boots and cats
6. #6 bright brush - Paint base coat for boots and cats with brown, white, yellow, rust, tan, red
7. #6 bright brush - Paint 2nd step on boots with boot brown (made in step 6), black, rust, tan, yellow, white
8. #6 bright brush - Paint shadow on wall and floor with black, brown
9. #6 bright brush - Paint 3rd step to boots with rust, beige (made in step 6), tan, white, brown, yellow, boot brown
10. #3 round brush - Finish final details on boots with black, beige, white, boot brown, yellow
11. #0 round brush - Paint facial features with black, white, red, brown, sage (made in step 2), beige
12. #3 round brush - Paint fur on light cat with brown, beige, white, pink (made in step 11), rust, yellow, red
13 #3 round brush - Paint fur on dark cat with brown, pink, black, beige, white, rust
14. #0 round brush - Paint whiskers with white
15. #0 round brush - Sign with black

Watch you all the time,love all your work, especially the horses, but this one has got to be my favorite. Painted a little years ago with oils, keep saying I want to start again but am 79 so hope I get around to making it happen. Love everything you do but am a animal nut, especially horses, and love love love watching the animals actually come to life, thank you for sharing your amazing talent. One looks like my current cat (a friend n I rescued last year half frozen and buried in a snowdrift after an ice and snowstorm...was dumped) The other looks like my mr cat (he passed from lymphoma 2 years ago).

If there is something that has eyes on it you definitely score winner 🏆. I don’t know of anyone that does a better job. And as I see there is nothing you don’t succeed in painting. It's the same as a flat brush but the bristles are shorter for more stability. Have fun painting!
