I USED QUINACRIDONE RED ORANGE, CAD ORANGE, TITANIUM WHITE, PAINS GRAY. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT TILL I GOT TO THE YELLOW OCHRE WHICH WAS A DIFFERENT BRAND... OMG THE COLORS CLASHED!!! You said that a canvas pad is easy to frame. Do you frame it behind glass? I've bought some pretty cool frames but can not find stretch canvas the same size so painting on a canvas pad would solve that problem, but I still not sure how to put it in the frame. Thanks.
This is one of my favorite paintings of yours! I am anxious to try it myself. I like your idea of maybe doing two fish sort of swimming around one another. Great job!! 👍
Painting with Jane I completed this and it was a lot of fun. However I had a very difficult time getting my background just right. After about 3 do-overs I finally tried using my filbert flat and a light pressure. The matte medium was a big help during this part of the painting. Sometimes I want to create paintings that look more realistic. My version of this does not, unfortunately but I’m sure this skill comes with practice.

Thank you!! Just buy a frame that will fit it, maybe use some double-sided tape to stick it to the backing board in the frame, and that's it! Never put glass over acrylic, though. Just the frame :)

Lovely Jane. I loved your inspiring words. I think when I paint mine, before I put the background in, I’ll spray the underbelly with some black spots using a toothbrush. Then clean up the background with the blues and Payne’s grey and white. Beautiful fish. The layers came out so great.

Have an art room and that and the fantastic teacher Pat made going through everything so much easier. So I know what you mean when you say art is healing and medatative.

Just be careful to use a color that you can see just enough to get the job done. They can stain if the color difference is too much.

Thank you! Just preference. The canvas pads are a little more cost effective, take up less space, are easy to frame, etc. :)
