That's any basic
I think it's more that so many people go to boot camp that you're bound to catch a lot of suicidal people in that net. My friend from high school tried to kill herself in the Air Force, but she also tried before she joined.
Why would anyone want to commit suicide in bootcamp??
This is true. I pulled guard duty several times watching these pvts making sure they didn't use their sheets to strangle themselves. That's kinda weird remembering the fact now though 🤔

Soon as he talked about the butthole inspection, all doubt was erased from my mind about his legitimacy.
I think they hire military contractors to do the shady stuff they don't want to be caught doing themselves. If it ever lead back to them they could always say they never had control of it from there side. You see this type of contractor bs loophole everywhere in business. Good looking public business on the front, but un mortal business practices in the back.
Plausible deniability
It’ not u think it happens all the time so the US never looks like the bad giy
Yes, like the Biden administration partnering with Facebook to censor people. Government can’t take away free speech but private companies can. (Which is bullshit but that’s how it is)
It's cheaper and often times more efficient for the military to contract out these sort of things, these things get blown up a lot more by the media
Really though, what sounds worse?
"Soldiers open fire on unarmed civilians"
Or
"Mercenaries hired by u.s military open fire on unarmed civilians"
AFAIK military contractors deaths are not counted as official amongst US army casualties.
Got out of the marine corps about a year ago, can confirm theres always that one dude who tries to kill himself in boot camp. Literally happens every cycle.

It's funny how the world is so fucked up seeing a penguin talking to winnie the pooh and an anime girl feels.more real than a pandemic, a 19 year old war and racial protests, collapses of entire economies and China being assholes with hong kong
That is actually done on purpose. If you think about military terminology in general, it is very dehumanising. You don't kill a person, you eliminate or neutralize a target. Those are little things that actually have impact on a human brain, and reduces the moral effect on the person's mind. Same with drones. It's easier to kill someone if you're not there.
You know the military can basically out their the expose the entire poisonous ideology of military and remain entirely faceless

When he said his family was super into him going to potentially die for his country gave me flashbacks to my fam. He says that so casually.
Kid drank bleach in mine, didn’t work.
James Stringam I didn’t clean the bleach out of my canteen fully. ended up getting a couple of bloody noses lol I kept drinking from it cause I was thirsty.
There are also people who try to commit suicide in normal society every day, and most people don't care... So yeah.
And it's an unfortunate truth. There was two attempts at mine, though I only remember one where it was a girl attempting to hang herself from her wall locker. In many people's cases, especially young individuals, basic training is the first time they are pressed into a scenario of high stress with nothing familiar to them there to help; no best friends, no parents, no personal space or comfort. So when someone breaks, they look at is as their only way out.
I mean let's be honest there, he probably got used to is as it became a new normal to some. Maybe it wasn't his intention to sound heartless but you guys need to see that this stuff happens, sadly, everywhere, specially in military which might take a tool on you, the whole scenario of killing poeple (some innocent), it weights on your alot. Nonetheless, it is fucked up...

@@dogboy0912 you ever notice recruiters target schools in areas with lower education stats?
@@lautaroarroyo8527 we talk about it a lot lol. Isn't it like half of the enlisted jokes.
So my long story short about a recruiter starts with me being at school on an optional day not knowing it was an optional day for testing.
Was forced to take asvab test but got a free donut so why not take this career test.
Was told I was going to get my results in about a month.
Two months later I get a notification from Instagram. Mother fucking INSTAGRAM! and its from a army recruiter.
There was a navy recruiter at the test walking us through it but I was still confused as to why the fuck a army recruiter is talking to me on Instagram.
Dude stats his name and that the army WANTS me to join and that my test results said that I would be best for the army???
I was immediately skeptical, I acted very professional and asked him 3 questions.
1. Why didn't I get either called down to my schools office, a phone call, or email (all of this I had to put on the test) he said that I had NOT filled that part out which is bs because I wasn't allowed to move on until that was filled out.
2. What was my SPECIFIC score I got on the test. (I wanted proof that I should trust/listen to this dude, I wasn't going to have him waste my time) he surprisingly did have my score I think or he just guessed I never cared for the test results so I didn't check
3. Since he apparently had some of my information then he should know what I said to the other recruiter at the site. (I said I wanted to apply for the military air force to be specific but I have bad asthma and scolosis so yeah that aint happening xD) but he had absolutely no info of my age. (The question was me asking if he had any information about me that wasn't on my social media, like my race for instance, I had and still have no pictures of myself on my Instagram so I wanted to test this dude to see if he was specifically recruiting me for my "smarts" or if he was just copying pasting this to people in highschool)
I think I asked him these questions and some comments on how it was kinda weird how I was being talked to about this on my ART social media. My Instagram did have my name on it but I went by SilverSerienty. This was the only info he had about me, just shit that he could easily find by going through my insta.
Yeah he stopped messaging me and deleted the account lol.
I have the chat saved tho so if anyone wants I could post it on reddit for some laughs.

"There's definitely been some things I wish I hadn't been a part of"
- And that folks, is *why* the US hires contractors
Trade secrets don't fall under the Freedom of Information Act. That is why the US hires contractors.
Bent Sound Nah, they do it because contractors tend to be more experienced and with less alternative motives. I hate to talk trash but most contractors enjoy the environment, hence why they join up. With the military, the benefits are so plentiful, its ridiculous to think even 30% of those soldiers are there to do their job, cuz they aint. They are there to get their college money, maybe an “adventure” or some hometown hero story, or to get away from home.
Especially in Iraq and Afghanistan, where the US has almost completely reduced its military presence to support and advisory roles, its important to have those units willing and ready for combat out there to do the dirty work. I’m sure illegality is a perk.
This all said, people also really overestimate how many mercenaries the US hires. The stat of them outnumbering soldiers in places like Iraq 3:1 is true (or was), but US troops in Iraq have dropped from hundreds of thousands, to tens of thousands, to thousands. The mercenary number rarely ever went over 20,000 and wast steadily drawn down to iirc 6,000 when US troops were, over the course of 12 years, reduced from 120,000+ to 2,000.
Also PMCs have manpower issues obviously

When ww1 came around he saw the war as an opportunity to become something great and give meaning to his life.

This was so much entertaining and educational that I could've expected.
he keeps tapping his foot like happy feet
Or he's very nervous.
Or he’s vibing
or it’s a habit
@@Grey_World1 It's probably not a nerves thing - short vrchat avatars with not much width between their footbase tend to 'dance' in place. It's a known problem with the unity SDK that VRchat uses. I use a Squirtle avatar myself and I really wish it wouldn't happen!
_The name's Mumble._
It's be fitting that he's a penguin. In the Australian Army, we call the Air Forces guys penguins. Cause 90% of them can't fly.
good one, airhead
Lmfao! I laughed way too loudly at this 🤣
Well cause it must be hard to fly upside down
Same in Austria 😂😂
that almody killed me
Man you find some truly FASCINATING people in VR Chat.
I love these videos because I get to just see these crazy avatars tell messed up stories
I realize from the placement of his arms that he's likely sitting down in a chair, so his feet moving around and tapping the ground is likely him being restless in a chair, but it makes it look like they're interviewing a military veteran penguin that was rejected from Happy Feet.
I thought it looked like he really had to take a piss
He definitely has a more damaged psyche than he lets on.
@@AndrewJ9673 yea it’s really sad but I’m glad he got out
@@chrisa8153 yeah. I’ve met Marine recruiters who had the same problem. Fidgeting and squirming in their chairs. Definitely psyche issues.
I legit thought his avatar was happy feet and that was why his feet were tapping around
When he said "I'm 28....I think" I felt that.
I stopped counting after 21, because there are no more "milestone" birthdays for a long time.
Probably when you get to retire is the next milestone. Forgot what age depending on what job/company you work for
Thats all just illusionary bull anyway
isn't 40 the next one?

Wtf is this stuff! I love it guests all have great personality and the VR just doing it's pre moderated stuff, feels good man.
As a historian I predict that this video will be referenced as a source in a couple of decades when historians research mental health and motivations of private military contractors in the beginning of the 21st century. And I am oddly okay with that.
Im glad im alive at the point in time where I can find this hilarious before it normalized

Bro, thanks for recording these.
Why girlfriend just walked in and asked why I was watching cartoons. I tried to explain that the penguin was a real air force vet but she just told me to grow up and walked out
lol
Is she your mom? Get out of that relationship if she isn’t gonna listen to you
Why would she care about you watching a penguin anyways? Penguins are slammin'! *Especially the ones that make you question your morality and the justification behind war and murder.*

Ironic that a flightless bird is talking about his time in the air force.

Reminds me of that comic of the penguin (I think) getting his pilot licence just to mow down other birds
This was a very nice video. Gives me a lot of hope
I love his way of talking omg haha end was priceless
I like how tight lipped he is about the more intricate details of his service. I respect that.
Also he's right about the marines getting treated like shit. "if the navy are the nail, then the marines are the hammer"
they are the mad dogs of the military.
Former squid here, these are facts. Marines never get their due respect for the shit they put up with.
@@CrackWitch113 Any of the branches, really. I've was enlisted in the Navy and I've come home for leave to attend a wedding in my dress whites. Can't count on my fingers how many times I was asked how the Air Force was.
I respect someone infinitely more who has the balls to actually describe the war crimes they were subject to. Talk about putting your ass on the line for something that’s actually good and not absolutely evil for once
The Jester I’m in the marines, and yeah getting called a “soldier “ is kinda annoying. No one gets butthurt but it’s like yeah thats not what we are lmao
